BACKGROUND: hanbyul was born into a family of seven in busan, south korea. growing up in a large family, hanbyul had gotten used to not getting what she wanted and having to be the bigger man in every situation. her parents always seemed to favor her other siblings over her, which hurt her endlessly, but she just grew to accept the fact at some point. sometimes it would become unbearable, however, especially when she'd often witness first hand how much her parents truly loved and supported her older brother minseok. he was the best out of all of the siblings, after all. he was smart - had graduated a year earlier than his other classmates; was athletic, good-looking, and was overall just the perfect kid in the eyes of her parents.

meanwhile, she was just hanbyul. sure, she was a straight a student, but she wasn't graduating early like her brother had. and okay, she can play some mean tennis, but her brother was offered a scholarship for basketball his junior year that he'd turned down in favor of becoming a doctor. and maybe she wasn't too hard on the eyes, but her brother was casted on the streets for a modelling gig several times. every single time hanbyul thinks she's finally gotten the approval she'd always wanted, her parents and everyone else end up comparing her to her brother instead. quite frankly, she's really fucking tired of it.

nowadays she works endlessly without motivation, studying to keep her flawless grades so she at least won't be a disappointment to her parents. she turns to music whenever things get way too much for her, and even to her younger siblings sometimes. she really wants to pursue music as a career, but she knows it's not something her parents would be proud of. instead, she plans on majoring in biotechnology, following in her brother's large footsteps.

PERSONALITY: hanbyul is quite possibly one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. she's a walking ball of anxiety so she's not one to approach new people on her own, but once you get to know her you'll find that she's absolutely precious and tries her best to be as friendly as possible. hanbyul acts pretty goofy and carefree, but make no mistake - it doesn't mean she's truly happy. she tries to keep her chin up no matter what the situation and does her best to hide any negative emotions she might have. she doesn't want to be a burden, after all. she's unbelievably insecure and the toxic mindset of having to compare her every step to her brother's has been seared into her brain.
