- [00:01] Finn Ghede says, "Right now, they tend to our home. But during the war they were our primary force. A duty to defend the Vale at all costs."
- [00:01] Finn Ghede says, "As well as upholding Aschea's will."
- [00:01] Amalia Ghede says, "Mmhm."
- [00:01] Leni asks, "Yeah. That whole Aschea's Will thing I guess is what I don't get really?"
- [00:02] Leni says, "I like the Vale though. I think it's important. "
- [00:02] Armondt says, "Ain't nowhere on Esshar like it."
- [00:02] Amalia Ghede says, "It's not as complicated as you might think."
- [00:02] Leni asks, "Yeah?"
- [00:02] Leni says, "I dunno, sounds pretty complicated."
- [00:03] Finn Ghede says, "She's the Mother to the Teraphim, so we owe everything to her. Though the Valeborne itself is inclined to all the spirits."
- [00:04] Leni says, "Now /spirits/ are definitely important."
- [00:04] Leni nods, feigning sagacity. But not well, really.
- (Leni)

- [00:04] Finn Ghede says, "Mm."
- [00:05] Amalia Ghede asks, "Oh?"
- [00:05] Amalia Ghede asks, "I woud like to hear what your thoughts on spirits are?"
- [00:07] "Aschea was a primordial of balance. She stepped in through the Vale to halt the progress of the Coven's corruption from reaching their peak during the days of Old Moonfall. For this purpose she is seen as our deity and Mother, as well as the creator of the Teraphim. But in truth, many within the Valeborne are often expected to ally themselves with some spirits more aligned with their personal lives."
- Finn gestured to himself, his crystal fingers touching lightly to his chest. "I myself am bound to the Spirits of Truth, for my pact with them forbids me to lie, and for it, I am given their blessings."
- "The Crown I bear," another gesture was given to the Crown that was fasted to his waist by a black sash, "..allows me to hear the will of all spirits within the Vale, both those of the darker type as well as those of a more benevolent nature. And of course, all in between."
- "Celestialism looks to the stars and the angels, Theria to the dragons. The Valeborne turn to the spirits and their infinite wisdom."
- (Finn Ghede)

- [00:10] Kofe says, "Finley."
- [00:11] Kofe whispers something.
- [00:11] Kofe sprints off.

- [00:11] Leni, for a rare moment in her life of sporadic attention span, actually listens to Finn. It helps that this is fairly pertinent to her own interests.
- "Yeah. Roo's told us about Aschea a little bit. You too. You told me she was like a mother to what you guys are. Which makes sense why when Alex tried to break that part of her you guys got...y'know. Real upset."
- They'd spoken about that already. That part hardly needed to be rehashed.
- "I think I like that a lot better. Balance is pretty important, cuz it's part of nature. All about giving and taking, y'know? Stars're cool. Arm can talk to one, and they seem pretty neat. But the spirits're neat. Like Big Wiggly on the tree in Os.
- So you find spirits you like? And you...make promises to them?"
- (Leni)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:12] Leni asks, "Is it like you made friends with 'em?"
- [00:13] Finn Ghede says, "More or less, yes. Though I think that's an easy way to put it."
- [00:13] Leni asks, "If it's true, why /not/ put it the easy way?"
- [00:13] Leni says, "People already make stuff way too complicated."
- [00:13] Finn Ghede says, "Hm."
- [00:13] Finn Ghede says, "Maybe you have a point."
- [00:13] Leni asks, "How do you do that? Do you just...ask if they want to be friends?"
- [00:17] "Sort of." Finn said, trying to stick to the concept of putting it the 'easy way'. "The Coven was known to offer sacrifices to their Dark Lord for power, and they did this within the Vale given its rather unique nature."
- "They gave blood, life, and essence away, while the Valeborne found a new and far less taboo method of sacrifice and exchange. Instead of corruptible offerings, we can give up other notions. My vow to never lie, for instance, has bound the Spirits of Truth to me. Ella, one of our late Mistseers, gave up her chance at regaining her physical eyesight to be blessed with the sight of the Vale."
- "It's an equal relationship. One of equivalent exchange. At least when dealing with entities that aren't attempting to take advantage of the living.."
- (Finn Ghede)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:18] Once again Leni listens, remaining quiet but not quite still. She shifts her weight from one foot to the other, tilts her head back and forth, all while considering the Teraphim's insights. It helps immensely when he puts it simply.
- "I get that. That's easy. I mean. It's like friends. You're supposed to give back and forth. That's how it goes. Makes sense that the spirits like the same thing.
- But it doesn't have to be things you can hold. It can be other things? Do you have to be a Valeborn to do it?"
- (Leni)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [00:19] Finn Ghede says, "Not.. necessarily. Though you would have to have their favor, and worshipping them as we do is likely the best way for one to achieve that."

- [00:20] Leni asks, "So that's just like finding a spirit I like and doing what it likes? Pretty much?"
- [00:21] Leni exclaims, "Never really done worship stuff!"
- [00:21] Finn Ghede says, "That'd be the best way to put it, yes. Treading through the Vale you may find a few to speak with."
- [00:21] Finn Ghede says, "Given they're likely familiar with you."
- [00:22] Leni exclaims, "Yeah...yeah! That actually sounds pretty fun!"
