Kendrick: I was born in one of the branch families of 10 Great Families. But i ended up living with with the main family due to the circumstances that my parents were in. // Ever since young age, i was closer to animals than people. // I felt that i was distant from the people of the main family who looked down on me for being from the branch. // But unlike them, the animals minds were simple, so it didn't take me long to notice if i give them love, they will give me the same love back. // They never betrayed my love towards them. // I walked the path of an anima despite all the opposition from the surrounding people while i was climbing the tower as a regular. // Without forcing the animals, i grew even closer to them. // It took a long time, but i believed that it was the real way of being an anima. // On my way up the tower, i reached a village, // I was told by the people there that the giant rabbits from the mountains were causing troubles. // Those rabbits were large and highly reproductive, so once they appeared they were not that easy to get rid of. // After listening to their story, i went to the mountain behind the village, but it was already a home to the giants. // With this amount of them, there was a chance that the military would intervene. // So i ended up telling the villagers that i will control the rabbits, and move them away before the military steps in. // I found out that these rabbits are coming down to the town in search of food. // For the time being, we locked all the gates and on the one side of the town, i put the drugs that would degrade their fertility inside their food. // And just as i thought, the giants gathered around the food. // I visited there every day to feed the giants myself. // At first, most of them avoided me, but as i was visiting them more often, the distance between us gradually started to disappear. // After so much effort, i was finally able to tame them and prevent them from reproducing anymore. // I've taught the villagers how to coexist with them. // I told them that they'd run out of food for the rabbits, but since they couldn't reproduce that problem would solve itself sooner or later. // The villagers decided to follow what i've said. // Since i taught them how to get close with those rabbits, they turned them into the pets. // As the time went by, the number of the giants decreased rapidly and i was known as an expert for the rabbits, the town's star, so i ended up staying there for quite some time. // Suddenly, a large amount of the dead rabbits were found near the village. // Witnesses testified that it was a work of a monster from the mountain. // People were terrified by the appearance of an unidentified monster. // At the request of people i went to the mountain. // With a belief that even the most hideous animals could be friends. // But, my hopes disappeared the moment i saw 'it'. // The size of a citadel, burning mane and two frightening heads. // It wasn't like any animal i've ever seen. // I couldn't even imagine being close to it. // I knelt down in despair. // The animal disappeared without causing much trouble. // I went back to the village, and when even i, who believed returned helplessly, the villagers that were in fear asked the military to intervene. // A few days later, a man named Yasratcha came from the army. // He said he knew the monster that appeared in the village and that he had a solution. // He was confident that he could control the monster with his power. // And soon enough the battle between the two started. // You could see the flashing lights followed by the echoes of the battle coming from the mountains. // Once Yasratcha returned with the fallen monster all the villagers who saw the scene started to praise his strength. // My existence was completely forgotten. // Yasratcha said that the wild animals shouldn't be tamed because they're way too dangerous, only overwhelming power and the feeling of death could control them. // He told the villagers that the monsters would stop coming down to the town if they get rid of the giant rabbits. // People thought that Yasratcha was right, so they banished the rabbits that they were raising, some even got brutally beat to death. // The bodies of the giants that were brutally killed were all over the town. // Luckily, some terrified rabbits managed to flee back to the mountains. // I couldn't stop them. // It was painful, all of this seemed to happen due to my incompetence. // Unable to take it any longer, i risked my life to visit Yasratcha. // I told him that he made people hate and kill the rabbits. // I told him that i came to him to show him how his violent ways are wrong, and how i didn't mind if i died there. // I talked about how i controlled the rabbits, and how i was looking to find a way to live with the animals. // Listening to me, Yasratcha started laughing and contradicting me.

Yasratcha: Violent? Do you really think that your way is any more peaceful than mine? // Follow me, and i'll show you what kind of a human you are.

Kendrick: I followed Yasratcha. // The place he took me to was somewhere in a huge mountain range. // The mountain behind the village was just a part of the huge mountain range. // Soon enough i faced a shocking truth. // A scene where a large number of monsters eat the giant rabbits. // The rabbits were prey to the monsters. // Only then did i understand why those monsters came down to the town.

Yasratcha: Now, do you understand? // The giant rabbits have been prey to those beasts for a long time. // They are intelligent and they don't invade the territory of humans, for as much as it's possible. // That's why they didn't show up at the mountain close to the village, that made the rabbits run off to that place. // If you haven't intervened, the beasts would've reduced the amount of the rabbits naturally. // But you, who's lacking patience brought the rabbits to the village and made them stop reproducing, and when the beasts lacked their prey, they ended up coming down to the nearby village. // If i haven't banished the rabbits from the village, the hungry beasts would've ran over the village hurting the denizens. // So many civilians would've been killed, leading to these beasts being killed by the military. // If all of those tragedies were caused by you, the anima who said that he could control the nature and it's reproduction. // Would you still say that i was any more violent and cruel than you?

Kendrick: I couldn't say anything. // At that moment, what surrounded me wasn't the guilt because these animals were being sacrificed that surrounded me, but the helplessness of not being able to control the situation as an anima.

Yasratcha: Im not trying to push you, i actually understand how you feel.

Kendrick: What do people like you know about me?!

Yasratcha: In fact, the people like you barely talk about the truth, but deep inside they just want to dominate the others. // They get closer to the animals since they're generally easier to control than the humans.

Lero-Ro: Yes, it is.

Shibisu: Wow. Are you giving it to him? I envy him, im your student as well, don't you have something for me?
