Teaching and scientific research, epidemic prevention and campus security



To prevent the spread of the new coronavirus on campus, the university has implemented a number of epidemic prevention measures, including providing alcohol hand rubbing machines at all entrances and exits, placing portable electronic thermometers, and placing surgical masks at multiple entry and exit locations and security rooms.



However, due to continued uncertainty, it is impossible to predict when it will return to normal. After the university's comprehensive and professional risk assessment, it took the lead in revising the teaching and other arrangements after the Chinese Lunar New Year's leave to avoid the impact of immune conditions on university research, student learning progress, internship and graduation time, etc., in particular, the following measures were provided:



Teaching and research arrangements:

    From January 31 to February 6, class teaching will be suspended to allow staff to prepare for online teaching;
    From February 7 until further notice, all classrooms will be taught online in real time according to the original class schedule;
    If there are specific arrangements for the course, please contact the instructor of the individual course directly.



Preventive measures:

    Starting today, all people entering the campus should wear masks;
    All faculty and students returning to Hong Kong from the Mainland, please inform the university via the online system;
    If any faculty and students feel unwell or suspected of being infected with the new flu, consult a doctor and notify the university;
    Local students should try to stay at home.



Campus Security:

    To maintain campus order, universities are installing electronic access systems and strengthening security measures to restrict outsiders from entering the campus. The school council's administrative committee, university faculty, advisory committee, and management council have passed relevant proposals. This measure is to prevent the virus from spreading on campus in a timely manner and provide everyone with an additional safety umbrella;
    Avoid crowds, cancel all large-scale activities, such as the Chinese New Year celebrations for staff, and use other methods



Teaching and administrative departments:

    All teaching and administrative departments maintain normal services. Special circumstances will be notified separately.
