  1. I know the topic is dead now, but I just joined and I saw this whole thing was also happening in here. The first stream I ever did was of my favorite game at the time, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, on emulator and I had my new friends from a Skype group watching. I had expected everyone there, but actually only 2 out of 10 people in that group at the time. So I kept playing for a while and doing what I could, even if my stream was just the emulated game streamed with the free version of Xsplit with the watermark and my crappy mic at the time. I ended up quitting 2 hours in because my 2 friends that were there stopped watching, and I didn't stream for months after that. Fast forward to February 2014 and I decided I wanted more out of streaming and to give it another go, because of other people that inspired me at the time with their streams, so I decided to order a 3DS capture card at the time because even though it was a big expense for me, I felt the payoff would be worth it if I could end up doing what they were enjoying doing. And after a few months of streaming Kirby Squeak Squad runs it did! I got a very small audience that would come back, invited to a Kirby speedrunning Skype group, and what I did at the time made people happy, even if my stream was pretty unwatchable and I didn't hit over 10 viewers for a while. I didn't expect people to come in and enjoy what I was doing. I did it for myself because I wanted to try out speedrunning and streaming to see if it would click with me, since I had aspirations to create videos for a while. I ended up really enjoying it and here I am all this time later with the results I currently have. The point of me saying all of this is to not give up on something you want to get more out of. If you don't put the time in and expect results to just come to you, then you haven't worked a day in your life. Even if your stream isn't growing now, or you think you don't make people happy, you're not going to be doing that if all you're doing is complaining about not making people happy and not putting in the work to do exactly that. Things take time to develop. Rome wasn't built in a day. You just need to invest time into doing what makes you happy and working from there, not just doing what you think others would enjoy. If you only do things for others and don't work on making yourself happy, then no one will be happy. Focus on yourself, find what makes you happy, and work from there. Also sorry for wall of text
