  1.
  2. Pericles Vitalis says, "Much longer than I had expected, thank you for waiting Lloyd."
  3.
  4. Lloyd Durages exclaims, "O-oh, of course, Mister Pericles!"
  5.
  6. Lloyd Durages says, "Heheh."
  7.
  8. Pericles Vitalis asks, "How far have you come with your Holy magic? Are you able to call forth the light? Or do you need to start with the basics?"
  9. Lloyd nodded his head to him.
  10.
  11. "I learnt from Inante the other day. He taught me the basics, and I can do. . .this."
  12.
  13. He stands up from where he had been resting prior to the end of his previous class, and he holds his hands out before him. He needs a few moments to get himself in the right mind set. Then, out of thin air, streaks of raw, condensed light begin to materialize and gather to one point, forming an orb.
  14.
  15. It's a shimmering source of holy magic - the most basic form one could probably think of, and he seems to be having some trouble with it, but it's something.
  16.
  17. ".. Yeah, about this much. Not bad, huh? Eheh. He taught me about the fundamentals, where the power comes from emotionally and such."
  18. (Lloyd Durages)
  19.
  20. Pericles's eyes moved towards Lloyd's hands when he began to demonstrate his level of control when it came to forming holy magic. A quiet hum of appreciation sounding out as the streaks of raw condensed light began to reveal itself.
  21.
  22. The more martial member of the church let a nod follow after the inspection of the orb that had formed.
  23.
  24. It was definitely a start, but improvement could be made. His head tilting upwards to listen to the man's words as he spoke further, a nod soon following again.
  25.
  26. "Emotions play a key role. But there's also two more key points that are held when it comes to holy magic itself."
  27.
  28. A finger rose. "Faith."
  29.
  30. And then a second raised. "Belief."
  31.
  32. The High Keeper allowed the two over aspects of Holy magic set in before he started to speak again.
  33.
  34. "You must have an undeniable belief in your actions, in your success. Your faith, to whatever it may be must be resolute, unflinching in the face of opposition."
  35.
  36. "Pull something into your memory. A moment where you wished to help, to show your care. It'll come instinctually when you allow mana to flow throughout your magical circuits."
  37.
  38. And so he waited. Eyes locked upon Lloyd's form as he prepared to offer any advice when needed.
  39. (Pericles Vitalis)
  40.
  41. Lloyd listens to Pericles. It wouldn't be long before the ball of light fizzled out to thin air. Even that much took a bit of concentration on his own time, and while he was definitely making proper strides in the right direction, he still had a ways to go. This though - these things that he wanted him to also to draw his strength from were something that were easy enough.
  42.
  43. You see, there are things that Lloyd has already found conviction in - things that he could draw his strength from already, so in that essence, he wasn't lacking.
  44.
  45. A hand shuts tight and he stares at it.
  46.
  47. He promised Berrios that he would make sure protect Ophelia.
  48.
  49. He promised August that he would stay true to his vows as a knight of the Order.
  50.
  51. He promised himself that he would protect everybody, even during the times they wouldn't appreciate it.
  52.
  53. Even if it caused him his life.
  54.
  55. It's these things that he can believe in, and it's these things that start to flood in his frame of mind that soon makes him start to glow with a soft, bright glow. It's faint and dim, but the more time he spends focusing on these feelings of personal creed, the more it begins to grow. Lloyd here has things to fight for, and he will remain true and faithful to them for as long as he lives.
  56. (Lloyd Durages)
  57.
  58. Shorter amount of time than the High Keeper had expected for that spark of holy light to appear in a more stabilized form. It seemed those around Osrona that he had gotten the chance to speak to, to teach had a fire lit under them.
  59.
  60. Their duties seemingly formed already within their minds, their beliefs stalwart.
  61.
  62. And so he remained silent as that ethereal light remained, growing even further as the teenager before him thought about the things he fought for, he lived for.
  63.
  64. The High Keeper wouldn't question what he had decided to focus upon, private thoughts that would only be potentially shared to him in the future, and so he waited.
  65.
  66. That smile upon his lips that never seemed to disappear grew. A softer tint added to the curl as he nodded towards Lloyd when it appeared he had finished.
  67.
  68. "Congratulations."
  69.
  70. "You see. Those bonds, those beliefs we hold are a type of power in their own right. It's whatallows the light we have been blessed with to shine out through the darkness that has started to invade Esshar."
  71.
  72. A hand extended outwards, patting Lloyd on the shoulder for a moment in approval before he spoke again.
  73.
  74. "It seems you will reach far, Lloyd. Is there any questions you have for me further?"
  75. (Pericles Vitalis)
  76.
  77. Seems Lloyd just might've been a natural at this.
  78.
  79. Or maybe it's also likely this is the result of the training he had done prior allowing him to more effectively grasp it than he may have thought. Whatever the case might be, it isn't long before he snaps, and the light that had began to flourish around him shut off much like a switch.
  80.
  81. He was sweating from the use of it, but he seems to finally be getting the hang of it now, and that's enough to make him smile.
  82.
  83. The boy nods his head at him with a smile.
  84.
  85. ".. None here! Not for now at least. Thanks, Mister Pericles. I think this is all I need. I'll come back to you with a progress update some time soon."
  86.
  87. It was a short lesson, for all the right reasons. Lloyd smiles at him now.
  88. (Lloyd Durages)
  89.
  90. The light blinking from existence allowed the High Keeper to know that Lloyd had ran out of mana. His smile revealed towards the teenager as he waited him to speak.
  91.
  92. "Good, good. Continue with the tenacity you've shown and you'll no doubt master the Holy. If you have any questions, merely come and ask me or speak to the Stellus."
  93.
  94. Pericles spoke in his usual soft tone, rising up to a stand as he allowed his gaze to trail away from Lloyd and towards the star statue behind the teenager.
  95.
  96. It was exciting for the High Keeper to realise more and more people were interested in the magic that was so closely connected to his beliefs.
  97.
  98. "I will be heading out now then Lloyd, again. If you require assistance further you only need to come to the church and ask, or stop me when I patrol throughout the city."
  99.
  100. His words came to a close, cosmic-codex placed against his chest as he awaited a reply from the teenager, and when it came he began to depart from the room.
  101.
  102. A destination already held within his mind as measured steps led him out towards the city.
  103. (Pericles Vitalis)
  104.
  105.
  106. Lloyd Durages exclaims, "You got it, take care!"
