  1. [1:45 PM] Kips: ive said it before and ill say it again in full force: ff11, literally every ingle thing you've told meabout the game, is an abusive game at its core. it has no interest in anything other then holding players to it with an iron grip. even if the game has rebalanced things or so on and so forth to be slightly easier, things that have been a holdover from the earliest days but still required for some endgame grind or just as a general goal are still the same as they were before, but slightly easier to get. but not enough to match the incentives from content added at a later date. i dont see the appeal to a game that does this, where the old content that had its heyday is now only slightly better then it was before, and i dont see the appeal to a focus intensive grind that would 'drive you insane' if you tried to crunch it out in a short amount of time. i dont see the appeal to trying to make a schedule for a game and revolving your life around it, and i dont see the appeal of constnatly playing a game that pretends like it wants to make it more fun for you, while still making it not fun. i dont see the appeal to these things, because i USED to see the appeal to these things, and i realized that these games were no good for me.
  2. [1:45 PM] Kips: these are not literally the only games that click with you, because there are hundreds of thousands of other games that exist. working on a game at your own pace is great, but working FOR a game at your own pace is not fun. i firmly stand by that, because ive been in the exact same position with other games where i was spending days playing the same game at a grind that at the end of the day didn't really matter, and waking up one morning and realizing i just wasnt have actual fun playing the game anymore. i firmly believe you should stop playing this game if only for a bit, and try to expand your horizons, and i definitely feel like you can find another game that hits the sweetspots of trying to work with the game, rather then the game making you work for it
  3. [1:45 PM] Kips: you can drown yourself in games as much as you want, i do the same thing and its kinda the only thing really keeping me from going insane, but waking up with your sole purpose to be grinding away at some game is just not a good relationship to have with a game
  4. [1:46 PM] Kips: i do not believe for even a minute ff11 cares about you
  5. [1:46 PM] Kips: or about the way you want to play the game
  6. [1:46 PM] Kips: i do not believe that this content thats been around for a decade by now, likely, has any right to only be slightly better then it was on release
  7. [1:46 PM] Kips: if the grind was 1 year 10 years ago, then the grind should be 1 month 10 years from then at the absolute most
  8. [1:47 PM] Kips: if that superboss was supposed to be unbeatable, then make it actually unbeatable
  9. [1:47 PM] Kips: rather then turning it down to a 8 hour fight
  10. [1:47 PM] Kips: so on and so forth
  11. [1:47 PM] Kips: i despise all of these games practices that you're telling me about because it serves as nothing more then a farmville esque time sink
  12. [1:47 PM] Kips: where you have to wait x amount of hours before you can get any form of progression going
  13. [1:47 PM] Kips: only instead of witing those hours, you're,actively mining away at that content for those hours
  14. [1:48 PM] Kips: maybe our brains just work entirely differently
  15. [1:48 PM] Kips: but i sincerely do not believe if i was in your position that FF11 would be any good for me, and thus I also dont believe it's any good for you
  16. [1:48 PM] Kips: you seriously should consider playing something else, if only for a week, and seeing how far that gets you
  17. [1:48 PM] Kips: without thinking about on 'icould be grinding in ff11 right now'
  18. [1:49 PM] Kips: a game can have a grind while still being fun
  19. [1:49 PM] Kips: i think ive said what i feel like i had to say
