  1. Some General Information:
  2. The balance point I was trying to hit was that each engage weapon should be at least respectable lategame. Weapons where a generic version exists are generally based on the generic version, upgraded a few times, engraved and maybe a little something extra. Weapons with no generic counterpart were done pretty much based on vibes, and are subject to change if I change my mind.
  3. Dragon effectiveness is not a real effect and I mostly won’t treat it as one for balancing.
  4.
  5. More specifically:
  6.
  7. All Rapiers (and Mani Katti)
  8. The “average” rapier has 7 Mt, 85 Hit and 5 Wt, and it’s comparable to the Armorslayer, I think. So I threw 3 Mt and 5 Hit on to “+3” it, and then tweaked the stats for the “engraving”
  9.
  10.
  11. Marth - Very accurate, gets some nice Avo bonuses, a bit of extra Mt to keep up with lategame weapons.
  12. Exalted Falchion - Boosted stats including Avo and Ddg, but also heals everyone nearby for 10. Supporting his allies in this way feels fitting for the original Hero-King.
  13.
  14. Sigurd - Lighter versions of good regular weapons. And then Tyrfing.
  15. Tyrfing now has 90 Hit, 10 Res and 5 Dex. It feels appropriate to give the Genealogy holy weapons double digit stat bonuses, and now it isn’t strictly worse than Binding Blade.
  16.
  17. Celica
  18. Seraphim - enemy compositions lategame being what they are, it’s already a good workhorse weapon so no change.
  19. Ragnarok - Legalize Nuclear Bombs. With a name like Ragnarok, and with it being the basis of her Engage Attack, I wanted this to be bigger. And now it’s a magic Smash weapon, with 21 Mt and bonus Mag scaling.
  20.
  21. Micaiah - Thani is already solid and buffing Nosferatu too much seems dangerous, so they got 1 Mt each.
  22. Shine - It’s a flashbang. 40 Avoid is basically a Micaiah engrave, and inflicting -20 Hit is pretty good too.
  23. Nosferatu got mild boosts to Mt and Hit; I’m really not sure how good it is normally
  24. Thani was already respectable, so I just added 1 point of Mt.
  25.
  26. Roy
  27. Lancereaver now has better stats, but also Lancebreaker, giving it more payoff to its main gimmick
  28. Dragon effectiveness isn’t a real effect. I figured a strength boost at low HP fit Roy well.
  29. Binding Blade is already great, being a 1-2 range weapon that boosts both defenses.
  30.
  31. Leif - His Engage weapons matter to him more than most, so they have to be good. They may be overtuned, but I’m fine with that, it’s not like he has anything else of note.
  32. Killer Axe is now Vouge. It’s something like a Lyn Tomahawk+2 with some Hit shifted over to crit. I expect it to kick ass.
  33. Master Lance is now a Killer Lance+4 with Marth engrave without the Avo/Ddg. Slightly overtuned, but see above.
  34. Light Brand now has Super Qigong - fist calcs unless magic would be better. I didn’t want to give physical units full-on Str based magic damage, so this seemed like a good compromise.
  35.
  36. Lucina
  37. Lucina’s Rapier doesn’t have Marth’s 120 Hit, but she does have more Mt and some Dodge instead of Avoid.
  38. Falchion has more Mt than Marth’s, but doesn’t have his Avo/Ddg bonuses. Her Falchion makes all adjacent allies chain attack, like Chrom’s Engage+ attack.
  39.
  40. Lyn
  41. Her Killer Bow now has actually obscene Crit, like a Corrin Killer with more Hit instead of the Avo/Ddg. Seemed fitting.
  42. The Mani Katti has the Mt of Marth’s rapier, but instead of the Hit and Avoid she gets a bunch of crit.
  43. Mulagir is already one of the best Engage weapons, it was unchanged.
  44.
  45. Ike - Ike’s weapons are already either good or at least interesting, so they weren’t changed much
  46. Hammer is still one of the most inaccurate Engage weapons even after boosting Hit by 10. The Mt boost of 2 probably wasn’t necessary, but it should now very definitely murder armored enemies.
  47. The Urvan now has its Radiant Dawn stats, minus a bit of Hit. It’s a minor buff to Mt, Wt and Hit.
  48. Ragnell now has the 18 Mt of its RD counterpart, and gives 10 Ddg as well.
  49.
  50. Byleth
  51. Amyr got stat boosts and now smashes 3 spaces.
  52. Blutgang has Super Qigong
  53. Luin gives +3 Spd and has a bit of crit
  54. Areadbhar now has 18 Mt; on Player Phase it’s practically a smash weapon without the smash.
  55. Aegis Shield now gives bigger boosts
  56. Failnaught and Thyrsus are unchanged
  57. Rafail Gem now gives HP+12 too
  58. Vajra got a Mt boost
  59. Sword of the Creator only got a 1 Mt bump, but with the added scaling it still should be good on any physical unit with more than single digit Mag.
  60.
  61. Corrin
  62. Dual Katana is a Lancereaver with more crit focused stats.
  63. Wakizashi got a couple stat boosts, and is now 2-3 range, which Corrin’s skills love.
  64. Yato now gives the +2 to Str/Def/Res/Spd that the original game’s Alpha Yato got, the actual Omega Yato bonuses seemed excessive.
  65.
  66. Eirika
  67. Eirika’s Rapier is kind of an average of the others.
  68. Wind Sword now has magic Lunar Brace. Is this enough to make it worth it on magic units? I have no idea!
  69. Sieglinde is already one of the best Engage weapons in the game.
  70.
  71. Alear
  72. Oligulodia is still a worse Sieglinde, but it got a small boost to almost every stat to bring it closer to being an alternative.
  73. The funny magic punches are unchanged.
  74. Lyration got some stat boosts and its effect should now have 3 range.
  75.
  76. Edelgard - See Byleth
  77.
  78. Tiki was unchanged. If I was inclined to make changes, I would do it by changing her stat boosts.
  79.
  80. Hector
  81. Wolf Beil got stat boosts to bring it on par with the new rapiers, with a bit more Mt and a bit less Hit.
  82. Runesword is now pure physical and 1 range, but it has way more Mt and a bit more hit.
  83. Armads was unchanged.
  84.
  85. Veronica’s weapons are unchanged, as are Soren’s.
  86.
  87. Camilla’s Bolt Axe did not get a Hit boost, but it did get a bunch of Crit and Mt. It’s like a Levin sword for someone who needs damage more than hit.
  88.
  89. Chrom
  90. Levin Sword is now like a Chrom Levin+3, but trading 1 Mt for 2 Wt off.
  91. Thoron is like a Lyn Bolganone, but trades 10 Hit and Crit for lower Wt.
  92. Chrom’s Falchion has some Crit, and heals him by 20 at turn start.
  93.
