  1. I am streaming FF7, it's a lot of fun. I was genuinely something a bit more overrated but tbh it's very apparent to me why it's liked as much as it is and I'm having a blast with it. It's the first non-SNES FF or post-squaresoft JRPG I've played so I'm really looking forward to doing FF9 and FF10 next. I still want to keep with my idea of alternating from JRPG -> Non-RPG -> JRPG etc trend so I think after FF7 I'm going to play Skyward Sword or Shadow of the Colossus. Maaaaaaybe Okami, but those two seem more likely. I feel like my stream in the last month has visibly grown, it's a really nice feeling to be able to stream casual games and still have people to chat with - I always hated streaming races or casual games in the past because seeing my avg peak viewer count go from 150~ (when I was speedrunning LADX) to ~10-12 was a bummer; streaming to noone can be kind of lonely tbh. So I really appreciate that my pals and newcomers have showed up to keep me company during the daytime streams of the last 6~ weeks.

  3. All the games I've casual'd in the last 2 months have been pretty good and I think at some point I'll do a write up of how I feel about them and how I rank them since a few people have asked.

  5. Next month is going to have a shitload of races with iateyourpie and spikevegeta that I plan on joining - I'm really, really excited. It feels like races got revived then died and I've been really missing them, so I'm real hype for that.

  7. I had my first mystery tournament match; it was a disaster. I somehow managed to beat my opponent with a time of 1 hour and 25 minutes, so xXx_TuxedoMask advances to the next round somehow LMAO

  9. I lack self-discipline when it comes to speedrunning; I 'relelarned' ladx, did 1 run, got a 4 minute PB where I can easily save another 3-4 minutes (Failing rooster skip 8x) and didn't touch the game again. I *really* need to actually practice and commit myself to getting sub 1 hour before SGDQ submissions (mid March), and then finally do the MGS1 learning stream I promised. Honestly I'm not sure why I have so much apprehension about my ability to learn new games, after wanting to do it for 2-3 years I finally learned Secret of Mana; something like MGS1 should be a breeze to learn after that tbh (Note: my idea of 'learn' is just the point where I'm able to do sloppy no-reset RTA where I can confidently do a speedrun without fear of Game Over or Softlock or an otherwise forced reset).

  11. The biggest news is I start a new job next Monday! Any of my closer friends who know me know I've had difficulty finding a stable fulltime job and I've been living off of temp, part time, casual, and freelance work w/ little stability so this is a p. big ideal for me. I'm really excited as I've never worked in an office environment before (other than some call centers which aren't quite the same here) and I've already met my superiors and some of my peers and they all seem hella nice. It's been a long time since I've worked at a regular schedule or had something resembling a full-time 9-5; I'm a bit concerned about my ability to adapt b/c the unfortunate side effect of doing shift jobs or at-home freelancing is my sleep schedule is a runaway train that I've little control over, but on the whole I'm pretty excited and optimistic. I am real sad about the daytime streams ending though, but I'm really enjoying the revival of the hobby so I don't think it'll die with new full time hours; I can't really give estimates yet because I'm not sure about details other than it's something resembling an 8-4 sched. (the commute is like 15 mins it owns) so I'll see what the stream forecast looks like in the coming weeks, but at the very least there's always weekends.

  13. That was real long, sorry
