- This was wierd in a very entertaining way. So it's told fromt he perspective of some guy with a gun whose pants were stolen, and is currently hunting just some regular rat...with a gun. Oh, and at the end the literal devil appears. Oh, and Black Panther outside of his costume beats up(possibly kills) a small group of gang bangers with the assistance of two girls who are potential future wives. Seriously, I don't know to explain this issue at all, but it was very entertaining.
- Black Panther #2
- Everett Ross awaits Black Panther痴 return, but he's not alone! The demon Mephisto wants to offer his terrible company too! Meanwhile, Black Panther breaks up gangs while hunting for a cold-blooded killer.
- Still so bizarre, the devil shows up and gives the hunter pants, who we find out is an fbi agent here to assist Black Panther. He meets up with him and they stop for chinese, and some gang members show up again and try to rob them. Then some hick cop stops em, specifically because he's robbing the caucasian fbi agent. Then the gang membeers showup with more peoople, including these 2 girls who are in bikinis for some wierd reason, and they beat the crap out of the fbi agent. The Black panther and his body guard beat up gang members. Then the hick cop shows upw with a whole police force and arrests em all.

His kindness was paid by his house being burned to the ground, and getting stabbed over 30 times. Oh, and his wife fell in love with the guerlla leader and she took off with him. His hatred kept him alive, and he made a deal with the devil, and was given massive power. Instead of killing his wife and guerilla squad, he hunted down and killed every his ife had ever cared about, and now he leads his own squad, committing mass genocide.

- We find out that the FBI agent used to be a fat outcast as a kid, and he ran away at 12. His real name is Kenny. Black Panther shows up and beats the crap out of the Devil, who we find out is dying, and BlaCk PAnther tells him he either tells him where Acabe is, or he dies. The Devil tells him that he could simply wish it, and his enemy would be dead. Of course BP isn't for that.

- Black Panther (1998-2003) #5

- ...yeah, this contains a lot of super annoying exposition, and the art style keeps changing to the horrible 60's styel. JUST FUCKING NO!
- ...yyyyyeah. that's enough of this. I feel like I just spent the last half hour or so looking at the wall while a small child screamed a bunch of annoying nonsense while he hit me in the head over and over.
- To hell with your run Christopher Priest. You had a good Batman Returns vibe going on at first, but then you just kinda ruined shit.

- Collects Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) #1-7. High school student Peter Parker finds himself the recipient of strange and amazing powers. Bullied by his classmates and targeted by the deadly Green Goblin, he learns that with great power, there must also come great responsibility.
- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) #1

Witness the rebirth of a legend as Peter learns that with great power, there must also come great responsibility! Read the book that Entertainment Weekly calls "One of the most emotionally resonant depictions of teendom in comics since Spider-Man's debut."
- Oh my god! This is just as great as I remember it! Peter is constantly getting attacked by bullies who are doinf it because they're bored, and and as a result feels powerless. However he does have Harry and Mary Jane as friends...although it kinda seems like Harry is using peter.
- Then Peter gets bit by the spider and is actually taken to the freakin hospital, Norman Osborn footing the bill despite legal advice saying that it'll be seen as an admission of guilt, because he wants to keep an eye on him, as he developed the radioactive spider himself.
- Back in school a bully tries to give Peter a huge kick, but with his spider sense, ehs anticipates it and flips him from the back.
- At the end, Peter discovers that he can stick to walls.
- Bendis, you're amazing!
- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) #2

Parker tries to chase after her, but he's stopped by his uncle, who gives him the whole "with great power, comes great responisbility" speech, telling him that it was something his father believed. Peter screams " "Where the hell is he?" and takes off.
- Later Peter realzies he's being a fool and run home to apologize, and he sees police all over his place...
- ---
- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000-2009) #5
- Spider-Man confronts the killer of a beloved family member and is shocked to discover their identity. Plus, a Goblin is on the loose! What does this mean for Spider-Man?
- ...
- Wow...just wow. I feel like I just fellin love with this comic twice!
- Peter of course finds out that his uncle was killed, and goes ot confront him as Spider-Man and of course the robber is really the person that he stopped before, but what I didn't remember was how well done this turning point moment was. You see several imageins of him the future with Peter saving a ton of lives, and how important his responsibility to others are. You know, I don't remember how the original Stan Lee moment was back from the 60's, but I have high doubts that it was anywhere near as good as this!
- Well fucking done Bendis!
- ---
- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000-2009) #6
- Spider-Man leaps into action for the first time! But can he juggle a super hero life, a secret identity and high school all at the same time?
- Yeah, I'm just gonna give you a couple quips for this issue:
- "I hate the food here too...but you hav to learn to work within the system"
- And here's my personal favorite spider-man, bet it comic or whatever:
- "Hey! You wanna just get a cup of coffee and talk about what's up your butt? Come on, I'm buying"
- ----
- Ultimate Spider-Man (2000-2009) $7
- It's Spider-Man versus the Green Goblin in their first battle ever. And the battleground is Peter's high school!
- The highlight of this was seeing Ultimate Spidey discover that he can dodge assult rifle fire.
- Not sure if I enjoyed this or The Punisher run better, but either way, it was fucking awesome! :D
- ---
- Sentry (2000-2001)
- I have no idea what I just read. Good atmosphere though.
- ---
- Spider-Man痴 Tangled Web: Flowers for Rhino,
- Actually, read this too recently. Gonna jump to the next series.
- ---
- Daredevil: Yellow
- Yeah...this probably would have had more impact on me if I knew what happened to Karen Page...and if the dialogue wasn't so fucking aritifical, and often creepy! Gah!!!
- ===
- Fantastic Four: 1234
- Issues 1:
- Oh hey, a comic manage sot surprise me. This I really like so far.
- Ben Grimm(the Thing) stops some woman that was cutting up horses, but he does so by throwing a polic car at him, which the police see as a bigger deal than some coked up supervillain as it'll set them back 40 grand. He goes to Johnny for emotional support and Johnny treats Grimm like garbage. At the end of his rope, Grimm goes to this Doom Robot that Mr. Fantastic was dissecting, and Doom contects him through the robot and tells him that he can return him to normal. He does so, but nwo no one recgonzies him...and he doesn't recognize a huge chunk of new york.
- ---
- Issue 2:
- I couldn't understand most of it, but what I did get that's worth mentioning is that Sue Storm is pissed because her husband has no time for her, and Grimm is in the hspital having lost an arm, talking to a protrate cancer victim who has literally just lost his balls.
- Oh, and Johnny is just being colossal asshole to everyone.
- That said, I can't say that I was bored or annoyed, and the atmosphere is really good.
- ---
- Issue 3:
- I'm start with this because I'm afraid that I'll forgto mention it if I don't. The best thing about this comic is its atmophere, but that said, the atmosphere is beginnng to get a bit repetitive. Thank god the next issue is the last one for this miniseries.
- Turns out that Doom has found a way to make his will reality, and at the end of this issue he thinks that he's turned Mr. Fantastics family against him, but at the end of the issue Mr. Fantastic seems like he's come up with a plan.
- ---
- Issue 4:
- Yeah, I really got sick of this, but I finished it. Reed basically THINKS of actual reality better than Doom, and with the help of everyone else reality is saved. Very happy ending, aside from Ben Grimm still pissed off that he's the thing.
- Glad I read this, but even more glad that it's over.
- ===
- Next on our list is...
- Fantastic Four Issues: #60 to #70, #500 to #524 (series renumbers after issue #70)
- Year(s): 2002 to 2005
- This is supposed to be more lighthearted compared to the mini-series I just read. Let's see how this turns out witht the first arc.
- ---
- Issue 60:
- Way too much dialogue, and dear god are Torch and The THing annoying manchildren. And the dialogue goes on forever. I couldn't een finish the last few pages. That said, I'll give the second issue a chance.
- Issue 61:
- Wow...Johnny, I just want you to die horribly. Seriously. That said, I feel like this might be leading towards something good. After this I got a three parter. If this doesn't impress me, well...it's yet another comic series that I don't already love that I won't want to read any more of.
- Issue 62:
- Wow, and THEN we turn to massive exposition, with an extra special dose of technobabel. FUCK THE FANTASTIC FOUR! Seriously, this just like the movies!
- ---
- Ok, let's go back into something I know I'll actually enjoy
- Ultimate Spider-Man
- Issue 8: Working Stiff
- Another one of those episodes where i just plain love sthe differences between this and the original. Peter finds out that Bugle is paying for pics of spidey. He goes there, and gets paid a measely 50 bucks for his efforts. Then Ms. Brant gets pissed off at her computer because she has no idea how to web design. Peter tells her exactly how to fix the issue, and then fixes it. Jonah is impressed, and bam! He's got a job designing the website!
- Later on he researches the Kingpin, and asks Robbie why he hasn't been taken down. Robbie tells him that The Bugle tried to take him down before, but he bought stock in their company, so they dropped the story, figuring that if they take him down, someone else is just gonna take his place. Peter essentially reponds saying "this is bullshit! I'm taking care of this."
- ...well, he says it in a pg way anyways.
- ---
- Issue 9: Meet The Enforcers
- Spidey attacsk some of Fisks men, one of them with a rope catches him off guard, and he almost gets killed to some regular people. Well, he is pretty new to being Spider-Man. He breaks free and attack s them again, when another of fisks men appears, and suggests that Spidey gets his attention at a charity event.
- ---
- Issue 10: The Worst Thing
- "Find this Carson Daly person and destroy him."
- One of the first things that speaks out to me about this comic is that WOW, Peter hit the kingpin and all that resulted was him hurting his hand! Then there's the whole fact that Peter tells Kingpin that Carson Daily sent him, and the Kingpin puts a hit on him. Hehehe!
- But what really speaks out to me on this issue is the probably the most clever things that I've ever seen Brian Micheal Bendis pull off! Electro knocks Spidey unconcious, and Kingpin FREAKIN UNMASKS him. He doesn't recognize him, and he was taken out very easily by them, so he just dismisses him and tosses him out of the building.
- And then there's the really moving moment that tugs on my heartstrings. Where Aunt May asks Peter is he likes her, not just as a family member, but as a person. His answer is obvious, but still. This part is especially important to me, as years ago it led me to ask me to ask my mom this.
- Then later that day a thug stands up to Kingpin, and Kingpin kills him by taking Spideys Mask, and crushing his face, which leads to the police believing now that Spider-Man is dead, and was working for the mob.
- Finally, Peter is back in class, and they're all discussing the Nixon tapes. Peter is reminded that the Kingpin is like Nixon, he thinks that he's untouchable, and he absolutely needs to stop him.
- Yeah, easily the best issue I've read in this series so far.
- ---
- Issue 11: Discovery
- Peter realizes that he's been using his spider powers, but not his own brain. He realizes that it's time to be clever, and so he writes an email, claiming to be business owner interested in his security system. he gets an email and video message back explaining how everything works, and goes back, disables it, and gathers some evidence on some really horrible shit that Kingpin has done.
- It ends with Electro showing up.
- ---
- Issue 12: Battle Royale
- "Hey Hey! One at a time now. I'll beat the twinkies out of each and every one of you--I promise. "
- Very satisfying ending to the best arc in the series so far. Spidey realizes that Electro is one trick pony, and figures that all he has to do is dodge his shots. Electro tells him that they're all gonna kill him, his family, and everyone he ever cared about. Peter responds by hitting a water valve, knocking electro out.
- He then faces Kingpin, and beats him the same way he beats the Rhino, he insults him by making a bunch of fat jokes, and has him charge at him, and keeps webbing him up. It's hilarious!
- Later we find out that Peter sent Ben Urich a package, showing more than enough evidence to send Kingpin away. And of course the Kingpin goes into hiding.
- We end with Peter telling Mary Jane to come to his home tomorrow, because he has something important to tell her.
- Again, best arc so far of what I've read for the project.
- ===
- Ok, time to try another series that failed me last time. Maybe I'll like it again when I try:
- Alias (aka Jessica Jones) Issues: #1 to #28
- Year(s): 2000 to 2004
- Issu 1:
- Um some stuff happened, but literally nothing sticks out to me.
- #2:
- ...yeah, not feeling this. Might come back to it.
