☆| life as a trainee : in sm, she was put under a rigorous training schedule and diet, which often made her self-confidence and energy drop quicker than a piano from the roof of a building. which is why she was glad that bighit had a much more flexible training schedule, and more freedom on her diet. she showed her gratefulness through following whatever schedule/diet bighit pd-nim wanted her to do.

☆| how did she become a trainee :
    → sm street-casted her, one of the recruiters seeing her win an underground dance competition with no problems. she would have debuted as a solo artist, if she hadn't quit for personal reasons.
    → bighit had known about hwani, and her talents. they had emailed her about joining their new girl group and, after weeks of thinking about it, she decided it would be good to finally get back into the game and agreed.

☆| background: at the young age of 3, her parents had a feeling that hwani had a passion for dancing. as her tiny legs (tried) to dance along with her parents while in the confines of her crib, they couldn't help but be supportive as the years passed and she had continued mimicking dance moves. no matter what, they supported every dance lesson she wanted to go to, a happy family. it wasn't until she was in her late teens that everything went downhill. her mother had cancer-- incurable, in its last stage-- and had about two years left to live. of course, as her eldest daughter who had the closest relationship with her, hwani was crushed. time went by, and hwani's training at sm slowly became more of a burden as she couldn't see her mother as often as she wanted to.  (she had died after a year and three months, holding her father's hand and her brother leaving for the army at the age of 18). her and her dad had tried to stay strong after that, but she had fallen into a state of depression. life without a mother was hard, but losing her brother, as well? even uploaded them onto her youtube account. the adrenaline rushes she achieved from dancing was what made her feel alive and, when bighit contacted her, she knew that it was what she needed to have that feeling forever.

☆| current status : friends (best? quite possibly) that compliment each other very well. always laughing because he always nags her to do aegyo, which she actually does because making someone-- especially him-- laugh was something people need to cherish. sometimes, though, she falls into her insecure rut, and becomes closed off. he's usually worried for her during these times, trying to cheer her up with his own aegyo (which almost always worked). when it didn't work, she would snap.

☆| personality : he's very comforting, and persuasive. if he wanted to, he could probably convince her to jump off a cliff. though she doesn't know it, he cares for her deeply and is always thinking about her well being (she only thinks that he's being dumb and zoning out).

    → a day in the studio scene would be super cute! goofing around in the studio and doing random group dances even though they're only two people. maybe they're filming it as well, not really taking the dancing part seriously and sharing some inside jokes.
