  1. [Comment by DemBones, QM of Bones Quest, for context:
  2. "I ain't the reviewman, but I picked your quest up a little while ago and I've really been enjoying it! The art is endearing, the setting's unique, and while I feel like the way the dialogue is written is a little crowded together I like how you write each character--really makes them distinct and unique just through the dialogue alone. Keep it up, anon, you're doing pretty darn well!"]

  6. Alright, caught up to the live thread now. Looks like Spaceship Pilot in a Fantasy World is mostly what it says on the tin. The spaceships didn’t last very long though!

  8. I can admit bias, I have a soft spot for drawquests. I read a lot, and I get plenty of verbose writing in other places. But if you really want to leverage the strength of art you need to break up that packed writing into something more bite-sized so you can give room for the art to breathe. That soothes the headaches after a long day at work when I’m already mentally beat. So a drawquest where anons are playing a sci-fi pilot and choosing to punch their way through a magical society is easy to slip into.

  10. I saw you mentioned frustration with the writing at times, but I can confirm it is working. It’s a semi-serious style with a focus on character actions and dialogue. Excellent for supplementing the somewhat-sketch style you’re doing for the art. If your frustration is with descriptions you may be able to lean heavier into the art to carry that, but if it’s in getting the dialogue right then I can’t offer anything there.

  12. DemBones’ comment (>>5881538) is accurate about the dialogue being crowded at times, banter going back and forth with no indication who is speaking. The uniqueness of the characters’ voices means I’ve never been confused when that happens, but you may want to keep an eye on it if you have more than two people talking. As a slight personal gripe, the intro dialogue for the second thread had my eyes wandering due to a lack of paragraph spacing, but it wasn’t a huge deal since it was only a recap and I could afford to skip around.

  14. The rolling style you’re doing is unique for what I’ve seen, which is nice. I can see anons possibly frustrating each other when a roll comes in on the second-to-last vote because no one else wanted to roll on the choice, but the balance system you’ve proposed takes some sting out of it. I’m interested to see how (ir)responsibly anons use the power!

  16. Since DemBones already commented, I may as well bring up Bones Quest as another quest you or others may like with similar vibes. I only got to join at the last major battle so I couldn’t contribute much, but it was a blast even in the archives. Guess I need to pick up Slice Quest though. For something more sci-fi but less silly, Voidship Bridge Simulator is a good archived quest as well.
