A ludemographer (coined by Koster) is someone who crafts gameplay in a video game. I am a ludemographer, which is why I am not in mainstream AAA development. Ludemographers are annoying because they fuss about game mechanics, when everyone else cares about bouncy bodily parts and being able to render warts really well on faces. And blood of course, although they sometimes have to make it black of course. Gameplay just gets in the way of all that. It makes the game cheap, and cheap can't support a AAA studio.
