Breaking rules result in punishments. There are several types of punishments:

1. Warning - This is for your first time offense, this will be done in the form of a warning post.
2. Infraction - Points vary for different violations, and also from temporary to permanent infraction points.

5 Points - 1 Day Ban
8 Points - 3 Day Ban
12 Points - 7 Day Ban
18 Points - 14 Day Ban


3. Temporary Ban - This is where you are not able to view the board for a certain period of time.
4. Permanent Ban - You can never again view the board.


The following rules are in place to protect all users/staff of Rune-Land.com

Rule #1: Scamming
Not allowed under any circumstance.

    Stealing others property without anything in return. If you are taking part in a trade, and you do not follow through with what you decided on after the user you are trading with gives you their end of the trade.

Rule #2: Spamming
Spam is a post/thread that contains irrelevant or useless information or is off-topic from the original post/forum.

Common Examples of Spam:

    Anything that apparently is designed to increase post count only.
    A post that is off-topic from the starter of the thread.
    Testing things out on the forums (sigs/avas/forum features, etc) is spam, unless done in the "Spam Forum"
    Double posting.
    Reviving an old, dead thread unless the response adds value and relevancy to the issue.
    Gravedigging (when you post in a thread that is 20 days or older) Exception to this is bumping a guide that still works
    Cross-posting (posting identical content to multiple threads).

Rule #3: Posting Bad Content
Not allowed under any circumstance.

    Pornographic images or links to pornographic sites.
    A verbal or graphical assault directed at another member or guest
    Linking to malicious software or websites.
    Racial and prejudice slurs directed at a member or guest, regardless of their parentage.

Rule #4: Bumping

    If a topic you created has no replies, you may not post again in it unless after 24 hours. If you made the thread because you need help with something, you may post again as long as you include additional information about your problem (the fact that you really really want it fixed does not count as additional information). You must post this in the same thread, and you are not allowed to create more than one thread per topic.

Rule #5: Advertising

    You are not permitted to make money using Rune-Land. You are not allowed to use the member list to obtain Instant Messaging screennames to harass people to purchase a product from you. Referral links are considered advertising, even if they are in your signature. Advertising of a website that has no forum, blog, or other means of content display by members and also follows all other rules is allowed. Advertising of a website that has no forum, blog, or other means of content display by members and also follows all other rules is allowed. If it does contain any of the aforementioned, it is not allowed on Runemart.

Rule #6: Discrimination

    You may not insult members based on their religion, race, sex, political beliefs, color, or whether they are gay or straight. This is worse than flaming, because it also hurts other members of the board who fall into the category you insult. Rune-Land is a place where everyone is equal, and discrimination will NOT be tolerated.

Rule #7: Flaming

    Flaming harms the nice atmosphere of Rune-Land. It also causes thread's to go off topic, and most importantly, it hurts the person being flamed. The victim may defend themselves against any accusations made to them, but may not make any additional accusations to the flamer (which also counts as flaming).

Rule #8: Bullying

    Do not pick on other members. The worst kind of bullying is where new members are picked on. This hurts the member as well as the board.

Rule #9: Plagiarism

    Taking parts of (or the entire) work of someone else and claiming to be yours. This includes templates, scripts, threads, guides, etc. This is stealing and is NOT allowed

Rule #10: Free Vouches

    If you do a free service for another member, such as making them a signature, you may not receive a vouch. You may only receive a vouch if you trade for something of value.

Rule #11: Illegal Activity

    You are not allowed to break the law using Rune-Land. This can get Rune-Land into legal trouble. Posting links to roms is illegal, so this counts as a violation of this rule.

Rule #12: Posting Personal Information

    You may not post your street address on Rune-Land. This is because this information then becomes accessible to anyone. You may also not post another person's personal information, this includes personal photos and their location, excluding their country.

Rule #13: Threatening to leave Rune-Land

    Due to past experience on the board, You may not make posts threatening to leave the board. This causes flaming to occur. Due to what a problem this is, warnings will not be issued for violations. Anyone responding poorly to these threads will also be infracted.

Rule #14: Signature Size

    Your signature must not be bigger then 800 x 400. Failing to stay within the size limit will cause in your signature being removed and you will receive a infraction.

Rule #15: Proper use of Shoutbox

    The shoutbox is for chatting with other members, you are NOT allowed to:

            Advertise other websites
            Discuss buying/selling/trading (This includes but not limited to saying things like "Selling level 120, add my msn", or linking to a sales thread)
            Flaming other members or guests of Rune-Land
            Use racial and prejudice slurs
            IP Booting/DDoSiNg

Rule #16: Use of Tags
The following Tags, are banned to be added to titles of threads, unless otherwise stated, or done by a Staff member.

    [Verified]
    [OMM]
    [VMM]
    [Trusted] - With an exception to RESPECTED members


Rule #17: Sale of Rune-Land account

    You may not sell your RL account under any circumstance. If you are found to have sold, or attempting to sell your account, it will be permanently banned.


Guidelines and Side notes:

    There are no excuses for breaking the rules. It doesn't matter if you were angry at the time and weren't thinking straight. It doesn't matter if you were only kidding around. If you break a rule, it does the same damage, regardless of your reasons for breaking it, and you will be punished all the same.
    Staff abuse will not be tolerated. As a staff member, your job is to help the people, not harm them. You may only use your powers for the purposes that they have been given to you for. There is no limit on how much you may be punished for this severe offense as this must be stopped at all costs to protect the people. This means that if you abuse your powers, there is a good chance you will be permanently banned.
    Harassing the staff about punishments is not allowed. The staff are only trying to do their job, and many times they have to make difficult decisions. You may post your opinion in your thread that announces the punishment, and no one else may post in this thread, only as long as you do not flame anyone. If this thread gets out of hand, it will be closed, and you may not complain elsewhere on the board, or by other means including, but not limited to: private messages, instant messaging programs, email, telephone calls, and house visits. You also may not make threats against staff members (or other members for that matter). Punishments for harassment range from a 5 day ban for minor harassment to a permanent ban if serious threats are involved.
    If you break more than one rule, the punishments will stack up to a maximum of 2 months, or a permanent ban if necessary. The staff will decide the length of sentencing they see fit for the rule(s) you have broken.
    Staff members may interpret the rules as they see fit. Any decision they make that contradicts or complies with the rules is allowed.
    You must be able to speak English to post on the forums. Please try your best to use the best English you can, as comments like "i thnk dat is gud" will not be taken seriously.
    You MUST not accuse someone with low post count of being a scammer. Staff will handle all of the instruction of new users.
    You may not use the staff identification image in any post, including in the staff forum.
    Read and follow all of the rules in stickies of sections.
    Vouches are allowed to be given for free services only if the person receiving the vouch handles something of value (eg., trains a mid-high level account).
    You are not allowed to request your account to be banned. This applies under all circumstances except if your account's security is compromised and you wish your account be banned for the duration.

To summarize, do not disturb the forum.
