  1. 22:22] ThreeOfFour: btw an idea I have kicking around is that the Unseelie Accords are mostly a Western Hemisphere thing and there's an equivalent organization/accord for the Eastern Hemisphere. But in that case its enforced by the three Major Pantheons of that area instead of Mab
  2. Chinese, Japanese, Hindu, though a lot of smaller powers being signatories. The Council would also be on it, but since Harry's never been farther west than Iowa he's not really aware of it.
  3. WIP title is "The Protocol of Heaven"
  4. [22:23] math707: I could see something like that.
  5. [22:24] math707: And probably at least partially enforced by the religion that straddles the boundary between the three? :stuck_out_tongue:
  6. [22:25] ThreeOfFour: The Buddha would probably be their version of Mother Summer and Winter
  7. [22:25] ThreeOfFour: like, rarely gets involved
  8. [22:25] ThreeOfFour: but if he does, shit goes down
  9. [22:27] ThreeOfFour: and now as I explain this, I wonder what the equivalent to Knights in that is, being a Bodhisatva?
  10. [22:27] math707: Probably not.
  11. [22:28] math707: Bodhisattvas in Buddhist theology don't really get involved much in worldly affairs.
  12. [22:28] math707: Unless they're Monkey.
  13. [22:28] math707: Because nobody tells Monkey what to do.
  14. [22:28] ThreeOfFour: isn't Guanyin also one?
  15. [22:28] math707: They're probably more like the Angels in the sense that direct intervention is rare.
  16. [22:29] ThreeOfFour: ...oh I have an idea
  17. [22:29] ThreeOfFour: Sage's
  18. [22:29] ThreeOfFour: like, proper, capital-S Sages
  19. [22:29] math707: Daoist Sages could work, and Hindu rishis to an extent yeah.
  20. [22:29] math707: Also.
  21. [22:30] math707: You forgot a very important secondary signatory.
  22. [22:30] ThreeOfFour: (i am aiming for...well, call it somewhat abridged to keep it TDF and not veer into Scion territory too much)
  23. [22:30] ThreeOfFour: oh?
  24. [22:30] math707: Tengri.
  25. [22:30] math707: Someone has to deal with Genghis Khan.
  26. [22:30] ThreeOfFour: :stuck_out_tongue:
  27. [22:30] ThreeOfFour: also probably a ton of Youkai clans
  28. [22:31] ThreeOfFour: hmm, on Sages
  29. [22:31] ThreeOfFour: Knight's seem to be very much "Down" mentally, more on instinct and unconsciousness
  30. [22:31] ThreeOfFour: Sages would be their counterpart and foil as their power is one of enlightenment
  31. [22:32] ThreeOfFour: so a normal Human turned Sage wouldn't get the physical prowess of a Knight, but they would instead gain the ability to properly use magic
  32. [22:33] math707: Makes sense. Rishis would, hmm...
  33. [22:33] ThreeOfFour: there's probably some variation based on the Sage tradition, like Summer and Winter Knight have different "Downs"
  34. [22:34] math707: Probably work a bit like Knights of the Cross but still going the enlightenment route? Part of the nature of religious ritual and devotion in Hinduism is that the universe responds to acts of devotion with or without a god watching, and a devout enough sage can even curse the gods themselves.
  35. [22:34] ThreeOfFour: another foil would be that Knights ultimately serve a liege lord whom they owe their power from, a Sage meanwhile would be required to slip those constraints and serve everyone
  36. [22:34] ThreeOfFour: Thats basically where I'm heading
  37. [22:36] ThreeOfFour: like, for example and totally not a possible long term plan, if Jess achieved Sagehood, the Council probably not throw a hissy fit like they do with Dresden being a Knight
  38. [22:36] ThreeOfFour: but on the flip side, she'd probably get pressure from the Sagehood to quit the Council because a Sage serves everyone, not a specific master
