  1. [14:23] Jude flicks a pebble-sized crumbled paper ball at at Lilian's head as a greeting.
  2. (Jude Cirque)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [14:24] Lilian 's hair absorbs it. How odd.
  6. (Lilian)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [14:25] Azed observes the act of paper absorption with curiosity
  10. (Azed Bolim)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [14:25] Waiting for the classmates says their opinions about MAGITECH, she just starts to talk after they end.
  14.
  15. "Magitech, it is the mix between the Magic Arts plus Technology, but together. It is not artifecry itself too. It is another level of Technology. You can create a lot of advanced projects with this technic. Not only weapons but maybe... a Robot to be pilot by someone. or with human traits...
  16.
  17. It is true, the most advanced art of technology and magic in this world."
  18. (Kajiwara Kameko)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [14:26] Ararsi nods along with the rest of the class' answers.
  22.
  23. Magitech was indeed technology that uses mana as it's primary operating mechanism.
  24.
  25. A small notebook was retrieved and notes were acquired.
  26. (Ararsi)
  27. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  28.
  29. [14:28] Benedict closes his eyes, allowing himself to parse the answers given by each student. Truthfully, he didn't need his eyes to see anymore with his advancements. However, he has to at least try and act human.
  30.
  31. "I've heard a lot of good answers. Your definitions are very close to what I intended. For the sake of this course, I'll combine your answers into one."
  32.
  33. "Magitech is the advancement of technology to allow for the harnessing and utilization of mana. It is not quite a synthesis, but rather the use of Magic in technology."
  34.
  35. With the amount of people, he wished more raised their hands.
  36.
  37. "Contrary to popular belief, Magitech was not founded by a single nation. It is not a practice, but an idea of creation that involves the process of mana to create things beyond the scope of what is possible."
  38.
  39. "These fields include energy, materials, mechanics, health, architecture: all things that require the scientific method can employ the concepts of Magitech to expand what is possible."
  40.
  41. The tea is sipped again.
  42.
  43. "Now. Someone earlier mentioned circuitry, and that is extremely important to the understanding of Magitech. Beyond circuitry, what are the other general elements that you commonly see in Magitech? I'll elaborate on circuitry in a moment."
  44. (Benedict Delisle)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [14:28] Isenhardt slips Malak into a seat, quietly.
  48. (Isenhardt ras Petrakis)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [14:28] Kajiwara Kameko says, "And... talking about magic we are talking about Circuits as well. And I guess the Magitech is the art of manipulation and recreating circuits systems with help of technology-"
  52. [14:31] Zoraia hesitates. Again, she has no knowledge about magitech at all bar what the professor just told her. However... is she going to get punished for TRYING to answer? Surely she wouldn't be given a dunce hat or anything like that. She hopes.
  53.
  54. Slowly, she raises her hand. Her voice is timid (and a little hoarse, given the minor damage done to her ribs), but nonetheless audible. "I... imagine that you'd need in depth knowledge of runes, to give it power, energy, and effect." That seems right to her. Runes are used in many things, such as the announcement system in the Academy, so why wouldn't they be used in magitech?
  55. (Zoraia)
  56. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. [14:32] "Synthetics is commonly associated with Magitech, I don't know that.. That's necessarily the answer you're looking for though; Runecrafting, the soul even in some cases is incorporated into works."
  59.
  60. The question felt a little too broad of scope for her to truly offer an appropriate answer this time around.
  61. (Cyn)
  62. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  63.
  64. [14:33] The four arms were fiddling through the jacket pockets for a few moments as a piece of graphite was removed from one, however he ended up finding his notebook within the leather pouch he had slung around him. Taking it out he finally began to flip through the pages in preparation of the onslaught about to begin to the paper.
  65.
  66. Hastily he was scribbling down notes and information that was gathered from Benedict wanting to ensure that his understanding would be up to par for this course, already he had a few ideas flowing about what he might be interested in creating in regards to the project but needed more information to see it through to completion.
  67.
  68. So far he managed to catch up to the point on common elements of magitech, there was not a single clue and this was where he might begin to drink from the well of knowledge that the teacher had to offer.
  69.
  70. Make-shift pencil at the ready, he prepared to see what answers might come.
  71. (Sting)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [14:33] Inclination brings him to the Academy, namely to find his beloved children. Perhaps he's intruding on the sublime delicacies of Magitech - Though in all honesty, it hadn't been the location for a Rhoynish.
  75.
  76. Not at all.
  77.
  78. The door creaks open, both hands within the confines of his pocket. He begins with a formal nod, and a grin written upon his face.
  79.
  80. "Sup, Professor Delisle. I need to take this little guy out of the Class to talk, I hope you don't mind. He doesn't understand this stuff anyway-
  81.
  82. It's only my guess where he gets that sort of brain from, anyway. I'll make him do all his homework later, 'kay?
  83.
  84. Probably."
  85.
  86. As such, the Rhoynur moved toward Hain. With calloused palms sculptured by battle itself, he reached down to grasp Hain's arm, pulling him from a chair.
  87.
  88. "Get up, lil' man."
  89. (Kaine Dayndros)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [14:34] Lydia continues taking notes. The aroma of teacher's tea was rather soothing. She was glad that Kameko sat her in the front row.
  93. As Benedict Delisle went on to ask the next question, Lydia would decide to raise her hand to answer.
  94.
  95. "Besides circuitry, proper runework is a common element to see in modern and ancient Magitech. Mana conductivity plays a big part as well, so it's wise to keep choice of material in mind when working on Magitech projects."
  96. (Lydia Greeley)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [14:34] Hain Dayndros exclaims, "Damn it, what'd I do this time!!"
  100. [14:34] "Something to power the device, be it a magical core, or otherwise." Mentions of circuitry force his mind to wander a bit, but he doesn't say much more. A few things are jotted down, and he'd happily return to a state of silence.
  101.
  102. "Or a means to power it with your own mana."
  103. (Leonidas ven Grimmore)
  104. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  105.
  106. [14:35] Kaine Dayndros says, "Exist."
  107. [14:35] That pen would begin to carefully move across the page. Every so often looking up at the man who was speaking before letting her eyes fall back down to the page. Already a mind full of ideas she would have to sift through them all to maintain focus on the task at hand. Whatever projects one had planned would first need to have some kind of basic foundation beneath them.
  108.
  109. After a short while her head would pop up once more, a hand running through her hair as she waited for Benedict to continue. Eyes for a moment looking at the other students who would speak up before focusing over towards Kaine who was pulling Hain out of class. A short shake of her head following before the Fenrir refocused on her notes and the topic at hand.
  110. (Natalie La Fleur)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [14:35] Lyra scribbled away in her notebook, there was a fair amount of useful information. Though she frowned a bit on circuitry as she did not know if he meant mana circuits or those that are in machines. Though they were quite similar when you really thought about it.
  114. (Lyra Vadoll)
  115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  116.
  117. [14:35] As more notes about the professor's words were written down about the professor's class, Patrick would raise his hand once more.
  118.
  119. "Runes, fundamental knowledge of artificing, the ability to come up with a logical plan and theorize what is going to happen with your creation, and then adapt when you run into issues."
  120. (Patrick Denton)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [14:39] Johannes scans the crowd idly, listening to the back and forth of the class.
  124. (Johannes pyr Docro)
  125. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. [14:40] Aladastros's pencil worked across the canvas of his mostly blank page. He incorporated drawings to encapsulate his understanding more so than words, as he didn't know how to write any, not even his own name. He drew what he imagined circuits to look like as well as runes, focusing on the answers of his fellow students and gleaning what he could just auditorily.
  128. (Aladastros Brigger)
  129. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  130.
  131. [14:41] Benedict Delisle says, "..."
  132. [14:41] Lilian says, "prince"
  133. [14:41] Cyn asks, "..?"
  134. [14:41] Johannes pyr Docro asks, "?"
  135. [14:41] Jude Cirque says, "Nice."
  136. [14:42] "Good answers."
  137.
  138. Hain is forced to leave the classroom, and Benedict gives Kaine a nod to allow for his departure.
  139.
  140. "If Artificing is the body of Magitech, then Runework is it's blood and veins. Runework allows for the 'programming' of applied mana with information. Changing it's form, it's elemental alignment, and even more. It is why that the study of Runework, and how comfortable you are with it, can separate a normal artificer from a true master of his craft."
  141.
  142. Prospective minds were at work here. Ideas being flung around, chances for new innovations to grow.
  143.
  144. "Power is another fundamental. Machines, much like our bodies, require a source of power to function. Power can come from an external source of mana, or an int-"
  145.
  146. Benedict glares at Callhan, who just literally walked up and took the tea he was drinking.
  147.
  148. "Do you have something to say, Callahan?"
  149. (Benedict Delisle)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. [14:42] Johannes pyr Docro says, "I think he was thirsty, Benedict."
  153. [14:43] Azed Bolim asks, "is the tea poisoned by chance ?"
  154. [14:43] Sting says, "I don't poison my tea."
  155. [14:43] Jude Cirque asks, "A little paranoid, aren't we?"
  156. [14:43] Azed Bolim says, "ah, then I am sure it isa wonderful one"
  157. [14:44] Malak bel Yalar asks, "My sword's made ah magitech. Pretty cool right?"
  158. [14:45] He doesn't raise his hand.
  159. (Malak bel Yalar)
  160. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  161.
  162. [14:45] Benedict Delisle says, "I'd appreciate my tea back."
  163. [14:45] Lydia turns around and GLARES at Callahan.
  164. (Lydia Greeley)
  165. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  166.
  167. [14:45] Zoraia gives a sigh of relief as she gets her answer right. She certainly won't be able to create magitech, given that runecrafting was beyond both her interests and her powers, but understanding the theory behind it and how it all works is important in its own way. While her confidence is bolstered, her focus is visibly broken slightly by Callahan's... actions.
  168. (Zoraia)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [14:45] Lydia Greeley says, "--"
  172. [14:46] Johannes pyr Docro says, "Here."
  173. [14:46] Eos says, "I don't think you are seeing your tea anymore, Professor."
  174. [14:46] Johannes puts a bottle of fizzy pop on Benedict's desk.
  175. (Johannes pyr Docro)
  176. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  177.
  178. [14:46] Lydia Greeley asks, "I can grab you another tea, sir. If I may be excused?"
  179. [14:46] Cyn wrote in big bold letters; **HE'S OSRONAN** and then proceeded to hold it up for the professor to see, as if that somehow explained everything.. To the young Barsburgian, it probably did.
  180. (Cyn)
  181. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  182.
  183. [14:46] Benedict sighs.
  184. (Benedict Delisle)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186.
  187. [14:47] Benedict Delisle says, "Alright, alright."
  188. [14:47] Lydia goes to find tea!
  189. (Lydia Greeley)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [14:47] Benedict Delisle says, "Sit down. I'm finishing the-"
  193. [14:47] Azed Bolim asks, "perhaps they should make you a tea cup that fills up on their own as final project ?"
  194. [14:47] Benedict Delisle says, "The lecture."
  195. [14:47] Benedict Delisle says, "Kajiwara."
  196. [14:47] Kajiwara Kameko says, "Yes-"
  197. [14:47] Kajiwara Kameko says, "Sir. Of course."
  198. [14:48] Rudi says, "Kameko."
  199. [14:48] Rudi says, "Go sit down."
  200. [14:48] Kajiwara Kameko says, "..."
  201. [14:48] Johannes marks his step-grandson down into his notebook of grudges.
  202. (Johannes pyr Docro)
  203. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  204.
  205. [14:48] Rudi goes back to his chess game
  206. (Rudi)
  207. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209. [14:49] Kajiwara Kameko says, "Thank you for your colaboration, Gardios.."
  210. [14:51] Putting the tea back, Callahan beams a smile at the professor. "Thought you were handing them out like my mom does," the cheeky teenage answered.
  211. (Callahan K. Gardios)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. [14:51] Kajiwara Kameko says, ". . ."
  215. [14:51] Jude sees the ignored Ebner-made weapon and opts to silently take it.
  216. (Jude Cirque)
  217. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  218.
  219. [14:52] {Item} You picked up Clockwork Blade. Dropped by Malak bel Yalar..
  220. [14:53] "That's my feckin' sword!"
  221. (Malak bel Yalar)
  222. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  223.
  224. [14:53] Malak bel Yalar exclaims, "Give 'et back!"
  225. [14:53] bro dont leave your sword out in the open for that long as if ur ignoring it.
  226. (Jude Cirque)
  227. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  228.
  229. [14:54] Lydia had left and searched the entire campus for a freshly brewed tea. Luckily, she was able to get her hands on one. She comes back into the class and gently sets the earthy brew on the teacher's desk.
  230. Though it seemed the original tea had been returned.
  231.
  232. "I've brought a fresh one. Apologies if it isn't as high of quality as the one that was taken from you, sir. Let's hope the one the thief returned hasn't gone too cold."
  233.
  234. As she turns around to take her seat, she would once again glare at Callahan.
  235. "And you. I don't know if you were one of the ones that came late or what, but earlier I asked that everyone respect Professor Delisle's class. I have no tolerance for foolishness. Now, let's resume without further interruptions, hm?"
  236.
  237. Lydia would be sure to confront him up and personal later.
  238. (Lydia Greeley)
  239. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  240.
  241. [14:55] Malak bel Yalar says, "M'serious."
  242. [14:55] Malak bel Yalar says, "Give 'et back."
  243. [14:55] Rudi flicks a stone as it breaks, another pawn downed.
  244. (Rudi)
  245. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  246.
  247. [14:55] Kajiwara Kameko says, ". . ."
  248. [14:55] Kajiwara stares at Rudi.
  249. (Kajiwara Kameko)
  250. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  251.
  252. [14:56] Rudi doesn't seem to care, his focus entirely on his solo chess game. Poggin
  253. (Rudi)
  254. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  255.
  256. [14:57] Jude in respect to the professor taking time to host theclass, he returns it.
  257. (Jude Cirque)
  258. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  259.
  260. [14:57] {Item} You drop Clockwork Blade.
  261. [14:57] Snikkit gave a look of disgust towards the wanna-be teacher's pet.
  262. (Snikkit Gnawtail)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. [14:58] Glowering at Jude with a look of seething hatred. The kid is spared the lad's wrath only because he doesn't have a levitation potion on hand.
  266. (Malak bel Yalar)
  267. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  268.
  269. [14:58] At least, finishing this would mean getting away from these menacing children.
  270.
  271. "But yes. Magitech is fundamentally comprised of the use of circuitry, runework, and advanced materials and mechanics. That is the very, very basics of this course."
  272.
  273. "...with these concepts in mind, I have your homework ready for you. This homework will be your ticket into my next course, which will be diving deeper into more elemental-based applications of Magitech."
  274.
  275. Benedict taps the table twice, and an eraser wipes away what was left on the board.
  276.
  277. "Your homework will be a study into the three main portions of Magitech. For each category of runework, materials and mechanics, and circuitry I want you to write a paragraph and do research on how you can incorporate them into your craft."
  278.
  279. "That's three paragraphs total."
  280.
  281. With the fresh tea in his hands, he takes another sip.
  282.
  283. "Find examples, do some research inthe library, or even come up with a concept for your next craft using these concepts. You'll hand it in to me for the next class, which will be on the topics of more elemental-based magitech."
  284. (Benedict Delisle)
  285. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  286.
  287. [14:59] Alanis takes a seat!
  288. (Alanis vey Grimmore)
  289. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  290.
  291. [14:59] Rudi asks, "Does this mean class is over?"
  292. [14:59] Kajiwara Kameko says, "Late, Alanis, you are late."
  293. [14:59] Alanis vey Grimmore says, "I just woke up."
  294. [14:59] Zoraia raises her hand. If called upon, she speaks. "Can we write more than three paragraphs?"
  295. (Zoraia)
  296. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  297.
  298. [14:59] Benedict Delisle says, "If you feel so inclined. "
  299. [14:59] Benedict Delisle says, "But before you leave."
  300. [14:59] Benedict Delisle says, "Johannes has something to show."
  301. [15:00] Kajiwara Kameko says, "You have woke up... late."
