  161. Gently, the woman brushed her hands against him. "Do you need my attention?" she asked, healing water magic suddenly blossoming at her fingertips. A weak healing force, it wasn't really Lotlhuitl's speciality. "I have some Lax Essence on me, if you are hurting."

  177. [00:32:12] Lotlhuitl had followed Xoconan, lying down on the sand next to him. The beach was still warm, even though the moon was high overhead. The sand was dry beneath them. Silky, almost. Fine grains.

  181. But she put that out of mind. Reached out with a hand, intending on brushing her fingers through Xoconan's hair.

  187. Lotlhuitl's feelings towards her old friend, her best friend, were incredibly conflicted. Seeing her husband injured wasn't a point in Xitlalli's favour.. and yet, the way Xoconan told it, it wasn't actually Xitlalli who had injured him.

  201. [00:53:32] Lotlhuitl didn't move from his side. Not even when his anger built. Unless he'd otherwise prevented her, the Nagual had slotted her body in against his. Her hair draped over his arm, her head resting against his shoulder.. ignoring the discomfort that might have presented with his armour.

  205. How could Xoconan blame her? The idea plainly bewildered Lotlhuitl. Her gaze large, lacking guile, as she met the accusatory look her husband was giving her.

  207. She withdrew her hand, but not her body. She didn't look away. Staring up into Xoconan's crimson gaze with, well, steel. With a glimmer of anger of her own.

  209. Anger masking pain. Fear. Unbelievable, soul wrenching agony.

  211. Lotlhuitl thought Xoconan would tell her that all of this was her fault. That if she hadn't been so weak, so pathetic, she never would have become thralled by Xitlalli in the first place.

  213. "I'm sorry I'm such a lowly screw-up, Xoconan. I'm sorry I disappoint you."

  215. At heart these truly were things that she actually did believe about herself. She was disappointing. A screw up.

  217. "I'm glad that I'm able to provide you some comfort, however." Her voice was soft. "At least you can blame me for your failures. Not everyone gets to have such a perfect opportunity at a free pass."

  221. [01:08:03] His rage didn't dissipate at her gaze. Arm wrapped tightly around her body as she'd slotted it against him. Uncaring for a long moment. Simply staring as she spoke, until his eyes closed, groaning at a particularly painful jolt from the wound in his chest.

  223. "I'm angry with your past actions." He spoke, coarse, blunt. Hands clenching into fists. "No, I don't blame you for them, but I'll hold my fury regardless. I blame myself for not having the strength to win that fight."

  227. "But if I'm going to call you a failure, then I call myself one. Because you are mine, and anything that applies to you, well... Applies to me."

  231. [01:54:08] Lolthuitl exhaled as Xoconan drew her nearer. She found his embrace unyielding. Hard. Punishing. Her soft flesh was pressed up against him, his armour pressing into her in an almost unpleasant fashion.

  233. She didn't attempt to pull away, however. Instead, she leant in. Against him. Careful. She didn't want to hurt him. She didn't look away, not even when he closed his eyes. Her ears were pricked up, listening to her husband.

  235. The Nagual didn't say anything initially. Well, nothing other than a soft, "Mn." Xoconan was hurting, and.. well. He was right. This was all happening because she had been weak. "I.. I will do better."

  237. Lotlhuitl could have winced at that.
  238.  
  239. Her words were the truth. She didn't want to be a failure. She didn't want her actions to come back to Xoconan and make him be perceived as a failure by the unwashed masses.

  241. But at the same time, some part of her felt something close to despair that in the eyes of the majority she was merely an accessory. Xoconan's wife. Doing well was expected. Really, hearing Xoconan talk, reflecting over conversations she had with others since stationing herself in Ardent.. it just made her realise how difficult she was finding living in Xoconan's shadow. How much she envied those who could stand on their own merit.

Each subtle movement the Nagual made was punctuated with the sound of metal jostling against metal. Subtle jingles that combined to almost mark out a beat as she danced. Her dancing empowered the spell. The rune glowed brighter and brighter. She could feel the mana in the air focusing. This continued right up until the point the Nagual had made a full circle, leading her back to Rai and Elizabeth.

Safe from everyone who would harm her before the truth of it all can be revealed."

  818. Subsequently, his own hands reached the flanks of his armor. Disconnecting the shimmering utensil, the Elsyrean was able to remove the artefact in evidence, pointing it towards Rai. His own revealed chest was completely clean, war-enhanced muscles filled with lesser wounds from previous combats, obviously treated.

  820. His blackened chestplate throbbed with green runes, clearly from Xitlalli's lustful mana. Aiming to make things quick, the Chosen's own mana expanded, reacting to the runewriting and somewhat replicating the sin influence. Maybe it would make the room slightly... unnerving, as the power of Lust could be felt from anyone inside.

  871. The Nagual was displeased. Her gaze taking on a mirror-like quality as she continued to stare at the younger man. When, suddenly, the rune beneath her fingers FLARED and SPARKED beneath her fingers. Her own mana reacting violently to the corruption in the air in the form of some distinct electrical displays.

  1137. [12:54:36] Alyona would take a seat on the ground, crossing his legs. From his cloak he would produce a tin cup and a palm-sized fruit. He bit into the fruit first before resting it on top of the tin. He'd pay half-attention to the ritual going on.

  1143. The willowy and scantily clad Nagual embraced an enthusiastic rhythm with her motion. Her hips were draped in metal: jewellery over the top of some armour pieces which, if they hadn't been obviously magical, would have been questionable as to the amount of protection they could possibly provide.

  1145. Every step, every little shimmy and shake she gave was accompanied with the faint sound of metal jostling against metal.

  1149. The runes glowed blue, mana visibly streaming into them. Empowering them.

  1153. [13:02:17] Rai's illusions could almost fool anyone, be it the realism incorporated into his warping on the perceptions of reality. His mind a cesspit of deceit and confusion, wrangled by the subtle desires that his heart held, keeping his humanity in check.. for now.

  1155. The world around them twisted and darkened, brightened and shook, the illusions even for the briefest of moments could fool a Nagual or even a fellow master illusionist. The runes themselves were far more powerful than his magic alone.

  1157. The world was his plaything, yet still he felt he was not enough.

  1159. The world seemed to lift for a brief moment, almost elevating consciousness to a higher plain of existence rivaling the gods before shunting back down hard into reality as the illusion neared completion.

  1163. [13:06:33] Lotlhuitl's dancing reached a peak of intensity. A crescendo, almost. And then she stopped. Exhaled. Blue-black hair dishevelled, cascading over her shoulders.

  1165. At that moment, the mana finally sunk into the runes Lotlhuitl had marked out. A subtle flash of energy flowed out, mana brushing against everyone present.

  1167. A strange feeling washed over the area. A feeling of being protected. The powers of the occult would not be as effective here for the next six hours.
