10 rules before you can be a fire emblem fan
So you want to join the FE fanbase? First off, why
Second off, congratulations for deciding to make this brave journey into one of the deepest depths of hell when it comes to fandoms, and I’m sorry that you decided to get involved in this fandom
But you want to know what to expect from the fandom or just want to act like a fan cause you want some friends…
In that case I have 10 good guidelines for being a dedicated “true” fire emblem fan
1: Select a favorite girl
This is a simple enough idea, just pick your favorite girl or guy from the series, my mascot and waifu is Priscilla and honestly just adore her
Some people enjoy Lyn *Show Lyn*, some people enjoy Tharja *Show tharja*, some people enjoy Flora *Show Flora*, Some people enjoy Bernadetta *Show closed doors*, and some people enjoy trash *Show Radiant Dawn*
Now if you are a girl, then obviously you may pick your favorite guy
And if you are a Yaoi fangirl you can go fu-*Cut to number 2*
2: Select a favorite game
Now obviously you can pick your favorite game when it comes to different fandoms, I mean we cant forget the great Melee vs 64, or Melee vs Brawl, or Melee vs Smash 4, or Melee vs Getting a spot at Evo
But when it comes to the fire emblem fandom, the game you select will decide who you are

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light (NES): You are a veteran of Fire Emblem and you hate the idea this series has a fandom
Fire Emblem Gaiden and Remake: You are a Masochist, you love horrible map and you are the type to say Brawl was completely balanced if you say the classes was balanced
Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem (SNES): You enjoyed the original and wanted more, you love the sequel and replay it extensively, you hate the remake however and refuse to consider any of the characters from that remake to be canon
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War: You desperately wish for the day this game gets a remake, you got mad that Echoes got the remake when this game didn’t, however you are optimistic since its remake could be on a better console than the 3ds
Fire Emblem Thracia 776: You love the fact that staffs could miss, you love the fact that staffs could double, you love the fact that staffs in heroes are really good, you love staffs so much you married one, and you love the brutal difficulty
Fire Emblem Binding Blade: You think Zephiel is the best antagonist ever and think Hector is a wimp, you think Lilina should not have sounded like a chimpmonk in heroes and curse the day that Echoes got a remake over Roy’s game
Fire Emblem Blazing Blade: 2 camps
Camp A: You think that binding blade fans can piss off for saying Hector is a wimp and you think that Hector is probably the best lord of all time, you wish this game would get a remake so much that you would literally send home a +10 Legendary Hector just for that glorious HD game, you also wish Mark was a playable Avatar like *Show them in order* Kris, Robin, Corrin, and Byleth was
Camp B: You hate everyone and everything, you hate games after Blazing Sword cause the gameplay and story doesn’t compare, you hate the fans who “ruined the fandom”, you hate people who play the “waifu simulators” even though you waifu Lyn or someone else, you vent your frustrations on Reddit and you cant stand anyone who thinks differently
Basically in a nutshell, you are in the smash fandom
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones: You think that Ephriham could take Hector in a fight and you think that Lyon is the best villain in the series and will fight the Elibe fans over Zephiel and Hector
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance: You love Ike and you think that he should have had his original voice actor from this game Heroes onwards, you think the story is fantastic and will go through the gameplay just to play as the legendary Ike, you also love the characters and wish that Black Knight was in other games
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn: 2 camps
Camp A: You either love Michiah and wish Ike and Yune didn’t screw her out of a final arc, you loved and hated facing off the griel mercs and just enjoyed recruiting Oliver cause memes, you adore many of the Dawn Brigade and think the Griel mercs are a fantastic bonus
Camp B: You don’t care about the character development in Path of Radiance just went up in smokes, you don’t care that Ike didn’t have many Yaoi moments in Path of Radiance, you don’t care about the gameplay, you don’t care about how some of the story was screwed up like the blood pacts and made Naesala from an outright jerk, to a “Sympathetic villain”, you just want to see Ike and Soren ****
Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon Remake: You played Smash Bros first and got into the series from there, you also enjoyed this game and enjoy the DS in general
You also wonder why the entire Reddit gets agrivated every five minutes about Corrin
Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem Remake: You love the story, you love the idea of a customizable character in the games, you love that it gave Marth some more flaws to make his less of a mary sue, you love that Katarina, Clarisse, and Legion are all very sympathetic and would give them as many hugs as possible, you love the reclassing system and just love all the new characters in general, you also wish that Kris would get into heroes so he can have an ending with Katarina and hated they treated her like that
You also may or may not hate the gaiden chapters depending on if you played 20x or not

Fire Emblem Awakening: You enjoy the time travel characters and the originals, you enjoyed this game for how it helped save the franchise but also the 3ds, you enjoyed the characters in general and think Robin got done dirty in Heroes, Warriors, and Smash Bros
Fire Emblem Fates: You think Corrin is a great protagonist because you identify with them, you also hate the entire fanbase because of how they treat Corrin even though there are worse lords in the Mary sue department such as Echoes Alm or Radiant Dawn Ike
Fire Emblem Three Houses: Depending on the route
You either hate Edlegard cause she not only sided with the people who *Spoilers* but also hate her cause of *Spoilers*
You either love Edlegard cause she is the only lord with a chest or you hate good character development
However, you are more then likely getting into art since not only does the game encourage customization but the setting is during the time when art was growing at a fast rate, you also think Persona 5 can piss off since this game is pretty much Persona 5
FE Tokyo Mirage Sessions: You was dropped on your head as a child while the doctor was listening to Hatsune Miku, or Virion Severa
So with all those descriptions, which one would you be?
3: Make a reddit account
In order to make a effort known about your fandom, you must be able to proclaim your knowledge like you are the lord and savior of the fanbase
You must also act very snobby and hate people as much as you can, if you can do that you will get a newfound respect involving the fandom in no time
4: Make a popular post
Now you wonder why I say this, well you obviously want to be involved in the fandom right?
Well in order to do that you must make a post everyone would get involved with, you may either
-Make a controversial post by saying something the entire fandom would disagree with
-Make a meme making fun of a character that fandom hates, popular choices are Corrin, Peri, Faye, Celica, or Camilla since she won the last CYL event and the VG dedicated to that event
-Make some dope fanart of a character you love
-Make a meme making fun of your waifu being garbage in heroes *Show image of Priscilla’s stats and Priscilla’s damaged artwork*
Now that your idea has been created, go ahead and make your post
5: Learn to be very offended about other peoples opinions
Why do you need to do this? Simple, the fandom loves to be offended and if you learn to imitate them you’re not only going to fit right in, but you will command a great deal of respect
Just remember to pick your battles carefully as if you lose an argument you lost much respect from the fandom, so pick on the small fries trying to create a new opinion about characters
6: Learn to be very serious with tier lists and always place your waifu on top
Now see here’s where the fun comes in
You are now more dedicated in your fandom and actively are making a tier list with your waifu at either top tier or high tier
You hate the idea of characters being better then your waifu and you just make up excuses for them to be better
A great example would be Lyndis vs Canas from the link I’m going to provide below in the description
You don’t care how good your waifu is and will actively look for people to agree with your opinions despite how wrong they can be
The best way to get someone to do this is by begging *VHS Rewind sound effect* by requesting someone because you’re not good at fire emblem *VHS rewind sound effect* because you totally found a viable way this character is great that there would be no way for your request not to be fulfilled by the poor victim taking time out of their busy schedule to do what some stranger on the internet wants them to do
7: Make a fire emblem heroes account and spend 100 dollars on it
Originally I thought about just saying that getting a plus 10 heroes in heroes was the best for getting into the fandom, but I thought it would be better to just tell people to spend 100 dollars on the game so they can get the top tier like Nagi, Selkie, or Tibarn
You also have to give your cheap heroes even cheaper strategies instead of giving your heroes fun sets that can make the game better and then complain online that your OP sets cant win you abyssal maps first try
You must also have one of the following characters on your Aether Raid team
Reinhardt, Brave Lyn, Veronica, Aversa, Legendary Azura, Surtr, Tibarn, Fallen Tiki, Razzle Dazzle Staff units, Ophelia and 3 mages, 3 Dancers, and your +10 unit that you got with your mothers credit card
*Don’t steal your mothers credit card for Fire Emblem Heroes, it’s not a good idea
8: Hate anything that could be Waifu Pandering
Is something decent fanart of a character like Camilla? Hate on the artist for waifu pandering
*Show 4chan talking about Camilla meltdown on reddit or someone offering free commissions for anti Camilla votes*
Is the hot character getting attention from the fanbase? Hate on the fanbase for encouraging waifu pandering
*Show images of Lyndis hate in fandom or tharja hate in fandom*
Is the design something a soccer mom would get mad about? Hate on Nintendo for waifu pandering
*Show images of people hating Tharja or other fanservice characters from FE*
A character that’s a girl that’s timid is a playable character in three houses? Hate on Three Houses team for waifu pandering
*Show Bernadetta Chan UwU video*
Trees look too much like boobs somehow? Hate on map design for waifu pandering
Farted too loudly? Hate on yourself for encouraging disgusting deviantart pandering
*Don’t actually hate yourself people, you shouldn’t ever do that
Game console turned on? Hate it for its dirty waifu pandering habits
*Sexy jazz audio plays*
Is the game full of bad map design and a boring story? Love it and call it Fire Emblem Echoes
*Audio of anal scream*
Basically if you accuse something of being Fanservice you are garenteed to get like 1000 upvotes and maybe some Gold on reddit
9:
Learn to hate the series
Now this may sound counterintuitive, but if you learn to hate your series without seeing the good in it, you will fit right into the series
You cannot call yourself a true fire emblem fan unless you hate the series completely, trust me the fanbase will love you and want to be your friend
Because there isn’t a single fan in the series that doesn’t hate it

10: After you realize that there are going to be many fans of all different types in the Fire Emblem fandom, just give up trying to mold yourself as the generic fan and just watch some fire emblem content or whatever
The fandoms of many different types are all vastly different and unique, many are infamous for good reasons such as the Steven Universe fandom, others are pretty chill like the Wario Fandom, and some are non-existent like the Sushi Striker or Rhythm Theif fandoms
If you really want to get more involved in the fandom, just watch a few videos and just enjoy yourself
Watch PhoenixMaster1, Sage, Marbels, Ghast, Mekkah, Mangs but not Chaos Jester, he sucks
Basically just enjoy yourself and try not to be a bad member of a fandom
