  3. not a single stupid sexy husk in this thread

  5. >Can barely find any art of Husk that doesn't include Angel Dust
  6. Goddamn shippers

  8. >zero 70's themed fanart of Husk

  10. To be fair, he was in his '70s during that time.
  11. Doubt he would've enjoyed the style of music of the era.
  12. -
  13. Oh yeah I forgot
  14. Christ Viv makes these potentially great characters (gritty drunkard gambler who died in the 70's) but fumbles the ball and sucks all the cool factor out it
  15. I can only take so many turn of the century/ 1920's bow tie wearing old man characters before it starts getting really derivative

  17. I mean, Cherri died in the 1980s, and she seems fairly young, like 20s to early 30s. There's potential there. She seems to be the punk loose canon around, as it were. Agreed though, we need more characters that died in the last 30-ish years (mid 1980s-2020) up to the present day to balance the cast out, preventing it from just being old fuddy-duddies.

  25. >he was in his '70s during that time
  26. Didn't he fight in 'Nam?
  27. -
  28. We know almost literally nothing about his backstory, and he likely would've been a old man when Vietnam was going on.
  29.
  30. I'm hoping we find out he's some former CIA spook, instead of this generic 'vietnam' vet thing everyone hams over.
  31. -
  32. He was 75 when he died, so he would've been too old to be deployed.
  33. He MAY have fought in the Korean War, though.
  34. -
  35. CIA spook would be too complicated to explain
  36. Having him be a Cigarette Smoking Man type guy would be really cool, possibly him and others like him having peered behind the veil so to speak, being privy to things like extraterrestrials, clandestine government programs and possibly the US governments knowledge of hell
  37. Shit, maybe the reason why a guy like Alastor, who we should associate with guys like John Wayne Gacy, Zodiac Killer & Ted Bundy was because the spooks got wind that he had "special" help from the other side, and memory holed the entire affair, with the only evidence of Alastor ever existing being locked away in a file cabinet deep inside Langley, Virginia's CIA archives
  38. -
  39. There's a ton of potential when it comes to making demon veterans.
  40.
  41. Personally, I'd like a modern vet in Hell, I think it'd be good to have someone who died fairly recently in the cast.
  42. -
  43. That'd be a good explanation on how the two of them know eachother. I dig it.
  44. -
  45. *too complicated for viewers
  46. Unless the show drip fed little bits of information about him, either via exposition or flashback
  47. -
  48. Literally all they have to do is stick a show bible out, it's there for people to read the backstory for all the characters if they wish, if not, then you wouldn't really lose a whole lot. I don't think their past on Earth will be explored too much beyond flashes, as previous anons said, they'd have to hire new VA's for every single character, amongst other things.
  49. ---
  50. Personally I like the idea that he served in Nam yet died very old in the 70s. That timeliness would make him career military/probably an officer, an aged (and expendable) mercenary, a non combat role, or some such. The old "reluctant fresh faced rifle grunt who got drafted and then saaawww some seeeerioous shit MAN" is a reliable trope for a shell-shocked heavy drinking veteran, but its been done countless times and in better renditions than this gaggle of college kids is going to be able to write. Viv has fun ideas but she's not going to be able to outdo The Deer Hunter or Apocalypse Now with Husk's backstop. Going an unconventional route with him would be good.
  51.
  52. Also, remember how heavily this shit has been altered over time. Baxter was originally a Titanic victim, Charlie used to be a mortal who died in the 1800s, Cherry was at one point AD's daughter and an exterminator angel. Husk's background hasn't been commented on in a long-ass time; for all we know him being a Vietnam vet and having died elderly might be right out the window in the current iteration, so don't get too attached to any of these ideas.

  54. Isn't the Vietnam stuff fan created?
  55.
  56. His backstory is that he died in his 70s in the 1970s.
  57. -
  58. Could be for all I know. It's hard to parse the canon from retconned canon from fanon with this, especially since the wiki is crap.
  59. -
  60. the vietnam thing is fan canon afaik
  61.
  62. everyone's just taking a stab at a backstory since Husk has literally nothing going for him yet aside from drunk cat
