Dream 8/26/2020

In this dream me and my sister flew out to japan so I could compete in an irl tournament of this weird ass game that I wish exists but doesn’t actually. It was Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land combined with Spelunky. The format of this tournament was really cool. You go through an area as quickly as possible but items you get carry over so exploring for items was a viable strategy. You would also score more points depending on how much money you found, so ghosting was a strategy people used in the early rounds so they could explorer. In the final round it was all based off of speed. The game itself had nidl physics and the random level generation took rooms / areas from nidl and randomly generates them into 1 big box.

Ghosting: A ghost moves in 8 directions towards you. If she touches you, you die but if she touches money, it becomes diamonds which is worth more than anything. Using the ghost to create diamonds is called “Ghosting”

I found in the earlier rounds I was getting shit item luck, I was entering the second to last round with expectations to be eliminated. However during this round I found a Dimensional Rift that works the same way as RTDL. You can get an insane amount of items and gold while it counts as its own floor, only u are being chased by the rift which comes from above. In this rift I found a Kali Alter in which it’s effects were multiplied. I sacrificed like 3 bodies and got insane items. Eventually the rift passed over the alter but it counted as the alter being destroyed. It took me to the lowest trust level so I was stuck with a ball and chain and a ghost was spawned in. But I got to ghost money in the rift which was an insane play. Despite getting ball and chained, I made so much fucking money I literally was projected to go into finals seeded first.

I went to go tell my sister and other runners. The only other runner that came from NA was Jay. Jay was frickin shook cuz he was predicted to go into finals 7th but he got pushed to 8th (finals was top 8). Quil couldn’t make it, MK’s parents didn’t let him come, and Rocks was STILL trying to beat jerome in 242. I also told Thomas (who looked like Kappa), the frickin Chinese mknidl runner was there too, and the Urnator who I knocked to 3rd. When i went to go tell Wakaza, he was still in the middle of his game cuz he had to play later. I took a peak and apparently this fucking guy manages to beat my seed cuz he got even crazier luck (i think he got the teleporter gun), but I had better items and I was going in second. How did finals go? We will never know cuz a FUCKING GARBAGE TRUCK WOKE ME UP!!!
