>closeted homosexual forced to hide his sxuality from his family, likely a member of the mafia to some degree, got discovered and accidently overdosed on PCP while trying to ignore the issue

All we really know is he died of a overdose of PCP and his family was/is involved with the mafia. Everything else is speculation.

Technically it was first made in the 1920's, but I don't think it became popular as a recreational drug until the 1960's.

Fact is Viv stated he overdosed on PCP. Unless she retcons it then that seems to be what we have to go with, and considering he names himself after the drug it seems a core component of his backstory.
