  1. The Owl would arrive to the cell of Wyatt Chengri.
  2.
  3. "Wyatt my friend. Today is the day that has long been awaited for. Today is the day the experiment comes to an end, it will not be pleasant, but worry not, it is not torture nor will it in the long run bring you harm, perhaps a scar but in a place that can easily be hidden by clothing. Please stand at attention and walk towards the cell door."
  4.
  5. The Owl would say with a grin as he held the small ring box in his hand. He'd motion for some of his fellow Outlaws to stand at the ready in order to help the boy out of his cell in order to tie him stomach down on a medical table, though not in a way that would make him uncomfortable.
  6.
  7. "Painkillers are an option, however if you do not wish to consume any then The Owl will not force any upon you."
  8. (The Owl)
  9.
  10.
  11. Motioning off his bed, the skin and bones body of Wyatt noticeably leaving a blcak impression against the bed as if he had not moved far days. Yet slowly his weakened body made its way closer to the cell doorway his weak body dragging itself in a dull fashion. Quietly drugding himself forward he'd stop in front of the doorway looking at The Owl with a noticeable frown.
  12.
  13. Something he had heard not too long ago tore at his mind, the fact that Maxwell was possibly dead emphasised by someone. With the help of a few outlaws his body flopped over a table and he took the usual position on the cold wooden table. Before he was strapped down his eyes scanned over Owl and a forceful question was asked, "Tell me about Maxwell."
  14.
  15.
  16. (Wyatt Chengri)
  17.
  18. The Owl would secure his restraints and shrug as he did not request painkillers.
  19.
  20. "So be it. The Owl would recomend you brace yourself for some pain, as it will not be a pleasant operation. Just the culmination of years of hard work and theorizing."
  21.
  22. "As for your brother? He is a soldier of Loranthis, a rather dissapointing one at that. Though who in Loranthis is not? They all are honestly, all quite dissapointing indeed." He'd shake his head.
  23.
  24. "In time we shall bring back the light, drive off the forces of Darkness. Why, my friend you should feel pride! Perhaps you disagree with our goals, our effort to fight off your evil companions, but you my friend will go down in history. The first man of the Alliance and Loranthis generation to be implanted, the first Occultist to be implanted."
  25.
  26. "It will be a new start perhaps, losing your occult abilities. It will help keep you sane. Oh certainly, some will come to view The Owl as a monster for reinventing such a tool, view him as some beast who brought back the implants. Occult sympathizers will ensure I go down in history as a bad name."
  27.
  28. "But The Owl asks not for a grand reputation or a positive legacy, he asks only that he be allowed to serve the forces of good, until the day he leaves this world and passes on the torch."
  29.
  30. He would grab a scalpel but would pause, sounding concerned. "Are you sure you do not want painkillers friend?"
  31. (The Owl)
  32.
  33.
  34. Restrained and dull looking, his figure devoid of much in emotional or physical effort he half listened to the Owls words. Uncaring to anything not pertaining to his brother it all came in through one ear and out the other. Yet the man had not told him what exactly he had been worrying about for months on end to his sibling.
  35.
  36. Letting the monolouge continue spoke once he was asked for painkillers, "Is Maxwell alive?" The question was filled with a horrifying grief, his teeth grinding, hands balling into fists. Fingernails dug into the flesh as a small trickle of crimson blood began puddling on the table.
  37. (Wyatt Chengri)
  38.
  39.
  40. He would sigh. "The Owl does not know if your brother still lives. Though he has heard nothing about him dying as well. Why the sudden concern for your brother? I have heard no word of him being dead." He'd say with a nod.
  41.
  42. He'd then pull the guys shirt up a bit to expose his back, slicing carefull into it with a scalpel. "My apologies for the pain, but you did not request painkillers and The Owl is not allowing you to stall him this time around." He'd say with a nod
  43.
  44. Once he had sliced open a small area he'd part the flesh, looking to the base of the spine itself. "Now your going to feel a great deal of pain in a moment, though do not worry, it will indeed fade." He'd say with a nod. "Into mild discomfort until your body gets used to it."
  45.
  46. "Trying to remove whats being put into you however is generally ill advised." He'd sigh, parting the flesh and preventing to much bloodloss. He'd pull out the protytpe implant and would start preparing it. It was about the side of a coin, though curved slightly with a nail hole in it, clearly meant to be put partially around something before having a nail driven through to hold it in place.
  47.
  48. "Brace yourself friend. Though believe my words. Should this work, it will be for the greater good."
  49. (The Owl)
  50.
  51.
  52. Hands relaxing, a reliefed look appearing on his face. Throughout his entire stay within the Outlaws prison the single wonderment of his brother survival had been digging at his mind. Causing him to stress, to eat lesser portions and not move. It was only a few days ago when he was told the fact his twin had not been sighted in Loranthis that he braced for his own death to join his precious family.
  53.
  54. Yet even with this small glimmer of hope, the fact nothing had been heard of him dying did his weighed down mind become relieved. Months of accumulated stress relieving itself, the clouded and oppressed thoughts flying away. Clear minded and joyously steeling himself for life once again the thoughts were short ended by a sudden piercing into the flesh of his back. In instinct his body twisted in the pain.
  55.
  56. Having practically left The Owls words ignored all he could do was grit his teeth in pain. No words spoken, but a new revitalised spirit flashing within his eyes. It did not matter what was going on, for he now had a goal, to see his brother once again.
  57. (Wyatt Chengri)
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61. He would go to speak.
  62.
  63. "I'd suggest staying still. If you squirm when I'm putting this in, its not gonna go well. I'd rather not accidentally break your spine you see. But due to the size it can't be injected into the bloodstream, and due to the nature of it, well, I can't just put it on a limb. Its either the spine or the brain, and The Owl was not cutting open your head, he is not a barbarian."
  64.
  65. "Now then, sit still" He'd place the implant against the spine and he'd take the surgical bolt, lining up with the hole on the side of the implant. He'd drive it through the hole and slowly would burrow the thin bolt through the spine itself, careful enough not to leave any lasting damage, but certainly a ton of pain. He'd have some of the other Outlaws help hold Wyatt in place as he did so.
  66.
  67. "My apologies friend. I know this must hurt. By the wings of Justice The Owl will try to make it quick and stitch you back up so you can return to your cell, you merely need to hold out a bit longer." He'd continue.
  68. (The Owl)
  69.
  70.
  71.
  72. Blod leaked through his mouth, cracking snoises sounding from his teeth as he kept in heartwrenching screams. With fingernails driving into the wood, each one giving terrible noises as they broke against the wood leaving blood trailing down. Giving no words all he could do was deal with the burning hot pain that was piercing through his entire nervous system.
  73.
  74. Tens of seconds after the bolt was driven through his eyes rolled to the back of his head and his sight went black. With a thunk of his face against the wood, body going limp he blacked out. Unknowing exactly what was happening to his body or whether or not he was to die or merely be placed back in his cell.
  75. (Wyatt Chengri)
  76.
  77.
  78. He would sigh. Certainly in time they could invent better occult implants, but for now they had only these to work with. It was somethingincredibly painful and quite cruel even. But damn it, The Owl had a job to do and he'd do it right.
  79.
  80. He would sigh after finishing driving the bolt through, securing it in place and tapping on the occult implants, activating it. By being implanted in the spine it could tap in directly with the mana circuit and function properly. Though the odds of it ever being removed were low due to the danger in doing so, and it would likely always cause him a great deal of pain or discomfort at the least.
  81.
  82. Once he was finished he would sigh and begin to stitch the mans back closed, working on it for about half an hour before he'd have some Outlaws drag him into his cell and put him stomach down in his bunk where he could rest from the pain. The Owl would sigh and tip his hat.
  83.
  84. "The Owl is sorry. He knows it hurt. He knows it will continue to hurt. But he is working with borrowed time, this project should of been completed years ago. Consider yourself lucky though. The first occultist to be implanted. I simply hope it works as functions." He'd say with a nod, locking the cell and going to walk off.
  85. (The Owl)
