Louis pulled out all the stops, flapping his wings and soaring through the skies to reach the square before Algaren felt light-headed. He saw the square soon enough, considering there was a public spectacle being made of it, just as the execution in Kuen had been. Louis wondered for a moment if this was an everyday occurrence for the people of Ai - with supposed traitors being executed publicly to discourage people from attempting to work against their interests.
He saw the platform and the only person on it that didn't have any red robes was kneeling down, his head being forced onto a block. Louis narrowed his eyes and balled up his fists, shifting his angle downwards. The Executioner raised up his axe, ready to slice off Algaren’s head. Louis gritted his teeth as he extended his arms outwards. The blades slipped out, and he grinned. In an instant, he flew down far enough to ram his right blade into the Executioner.
The huddled crowd all screamed in shock and began to run around in a panic as the dead Executioner fell forward onto what remained of his face. Louis landed on the platform, his wings retracting into him as he sliced his blades at the nearest Arbiter, cutting his axe into three pieces.
