- Frieza tensed, extended his right arm and firing an enormous wave of purple energy. The blast zoomed towards Vegeta, swelling in diameter the closer it got to him. The ever confident Super Saiyan only smiled. No fear, not even respect, was hinted in his expression-only wrath.
- "Hmmph," the prince grunted in apathy. In the last instant before impact, Vegeta leaned into the beam with his right shoulder and brushed it aside with a flick of his arm, sending the attack soaring through the upper atmosphere and harmlessly into space.
- "Wwhhat?" screamed a trembling Frieza.
- "Hahahahahaha! Now, after I've effortlessly deflected even your strongest attack, do you finally see the power of a Super Saiyan?"

Vegeta had dealt him another great humiliation, effortlessly deflecting an attack that should've vaporized the monkey. The emperor's strongest energy wave had just been flicked aside, a feat he'd never dreamed possible. Vegeta laughter filled his ears now, burning away at his patience by the second.
