  1. >You finish coating the box in sunflower oil.
  2. >You're pretty sure that's what they do with boxes.
  3. >You place the box carefully in the air to dry, and skip and prance away.
  4. >Today has been pretty alright.
  5. >You got an idea this morning on how to make everything better for everypony ever, and have spent the last several hours preparing to make that idea a reality.
  6. >Now you have to wait. You know exactly how this is going to turn out, and don't even fight it.
  7. >You pop down to the shops and pick up a loaf of bread and a carton of milk.
  8. >To pay for these things, you reach into your pouch of bits and fling a handful at the shopkeeper.
  9. >Should cover it.
  10. >Then, you start flipping end over end in the direction of the Library.
  11. >It's about time you start paying her back for the food you eat.
  12. >As you approach, however, you notice a large, sparkly, purple dome over the Library.
  13. >You step right through it, and continue inside.
  14. >Twilight seems surprised to see you.
  15. "What's with the dome?"
  16. >"It's meant to keep you from getting inside! How did you get in?"
  17. >You think.
  18. "Inside and outside are relative. As far as I'm concerned, this is the outside, and that's the inside."
  19. >You proffer the bread and milk.
  20. "I bought these. Take them."
  21. >You toss them at her and she stops them with her damned telekinesis.
  22. >"That's... very thoughtful. Thank you."
  23. "Bored now, see ya later."
  24. >You backflip your way out of there, and through the shield, into what is now the outside.
  25. >Waiting for your box to dry is taking too long.
  26. >You find yourself back at the box in no time at all.
  27. >Heat makes things dry, right?
  28. >Fire is hot.
  29. >The solution is obvious.
  30. >You shake your hand really fast, to make the molecules and such vibrate really, really fast.
  31. >To your knowledge, this is how heat and, by extension, fire works, and it's worked for you so far.
  32. >Your hand catches alight, and as soon as it does, you throw the fire at the box.
  33. >Fwoosh.
  34. >The flames die down, and the box is perfectly dried.
  35. >You retrieve your box, and open it up.
  36. >Since it can fit in the palm of your hand, it isn't quite big enough to contain much of anything, though you intend to change that.
  37. >The universe has an infinite amount of space, right?
  38. >So any space you took away from it wouldn't mean anything in the long run.
  39. >Good to know.
  40. >You grab a whole bunch of space, and start cramming it into the box.
  41. >Turns out manipulating more abstract things is just as easy as manipulating other things.
  42. >It's a bit of a tight fit at first, but as more space goes in the box, there's more space for more space.
  43. >You do a mental test to see if that makes any sense, and it checks out.
  44. >Eventually you manage to fit an entirely unreasonable amount of space in your little box.
  45. >Now it's smaller on the outside than it is on the inside. Or bigger on the inside, it hardly changes anything.
  46. >Time to spread the love.
  47. >You stop being there
  48. >And start being at Carousel Boutique.
  49. "I need six bags."
  50. >"Six? Might I ask why that number specifically?"
  51. "Presents."
  52. >"Well in that case, I might have some bags lying around..."
  53. >You upend your sack of bits, creating a neat pile of gold.
  54. >Should cover it.
  55. >In short order, she returns with a pile of six saddlebags.
  56. >They're all brown canvas. This is fine, you can customise them later.
  57. >But now, it is time for love.
  58. >You get a bag off the top, and open it,
  59. >Everything seems to be in order, though you would expect as much from Rarity.
  60. >You pour some space out of your box into the bag, and shut it.
  61. "For you, mademoiselle. It's a different size on the inside rather than the outside."
  62. >She sticks her head in to check. You hear muffled speech.
  63. >"You're right! It is!"
  64. >You stop being in Carousel Boutique
  65. >And start being outside Fluttershy's shack.
  66. >You rap on the door a few times, and Discord answers.
  67. "'Sup, Discord. I've got a present for Fluttershy."
  68. >You hold up the bag.
  69. >"Very well, come in."
  70. >As you enter, you pour some space into the bag.
  71. >Fluttershy is enjoying some sort of hot beverage. Probably tea.
  72. "Hey, Fluttershy. I've got a present for you."
  73. >You present the bag, and bow.
  74. >"Oh, thank you."
  75. >She takes the bag, you explain it's dimensions, and you stop being there
  76. >And start being on top of Applejack.
  77. >You pour some more space into a bag, and flip off her back so you're in front of her.
  78. >You start walking backwards.
  79. "Hey, AJ, I was thinking to myself earlier-"
  80. >She mumbles something under her breath that sounds like "Doubtful."
  81. "And I thought Wow! Apples sure are heavy! You know what would help with that?"
  82. >Tilted head.
  83. "A bag with an incredibly large storage space!"
  84. >You toss her the bag, and it lands on her back.
  85. "Small on the outside, big on the inside."
  86. >You stop being wherever Applejack was
  87. >And start being inside Pinkie's prodigious mane.
  88. >You pour some space into another bag, and pop out of her mane.
  89. "Here's a bag. It's for you."
  90. >You throw the bag at her, and she catches it in her teeth with a little pirouette.
  91. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to come up with ideas on how to say something is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside?"
  92. >You stop being there before she can say anything
  93. >And start being in Rainbow Dash's house.
  94. >A house made of clouds is still patently absurd.
  95. >You fill another bag with space, and leave it on Rainbow's bed.
  96. >She'll figure it out sooner or later.
  97. >Now for Twilight.
  98. >As per usual, this will require more thought.
  99. >As you think, you absent-mindedly pour more and more space into the last bag.
  100. >You climb into the bag with your head sticking out, and hop your way over to the library.
  101. >Nearing the library, you notice the shield's down. Must have given up on that.
  102. >You hop right up to the door, and knock on it, before sealing yourself in the bag entirely.
  103. >You feel yourself get picked up with damned telekinesis, and you hear muffled words.
  104. >As soon as you get set down, you burst out of the bag and yell
  105. "SURPRISE!"
  106. >And Twilight stumbles backwards, and falls straight on her butt.
  107. >As you extricate yourself from the bag, you explain the situation.
  108. "It's bigger on the inside!"
  109. >Smooth.
  110. >The library is actually pretty cramped, now that you think about it.
  111. "I'm going to make the library bigger, if you don't mind."
  112. >You take her stunned silence as a go-ahead, and upend your box, letting the space flow.
  113. >The library fills with space, making more space for more space with every bit of space that goes in.
  114. >The shelves and such get larger and larger, and further and further away.
  115. >The ceiling gets further and further away, and the stairs to get up there increase in length.
  116. >The books spread out to fit the increased shelf space.
  117. >And then Twilight screams.
  118. >She apparently doesn't know what to make of any of this, so she's just screaming.
  119. >It's pretty loud, and it doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.
  120. >Spike leans in from upstairs and looks at the madness unfolding.
  121. >"Neat."
  122. >And he goes back to bed. What a cool guy.
  123. >You stop pouring space into the main room just as the screams start to echo.
  124. >Time to add space to all the other rooms!
  125. >You skip and prance and roll and flip and dance and galumph and spin your way through every other room in the library, sprinkling space as you go.
  126. >You end up back in the main room, with Twilight still screaming.
  127. >Taking a quill and a scrap of paper, you scribble down a letter.
  128. >You tap Twilight on the head, and hand her the letter.
  129. >She looks briefly bewildered before she looks at it, and reads it.
  130. "Dear Twilight Sparkle, Today I learned how to put space into things instead of learning how to telekinesis. Your faithful student, Anon Yttri Mous"
