  4. #@ @#
  5. #@ ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** WARNING ** @#
  6. #@ @#
  7. #@ YOU ARE RUNNING X11VNC WITHOUT A PASSWORD!! @#
  8. #@ @#
  9. #@ This means anyone with network access to this computer @#
  10. #@ may be able to view and control your desktop. @#
  11. #@ @#
  12. #@ >>> If you did not mean to do this Press CTRL-C now!! <<< @#
  13. #@ @#
  14. #@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@#
  15. #@ @#
  16. #@ You can create an x11vnc password file by running: @#
  17. #@ @#
  18. #@ x11vnc -storepasswd password /path/to/passfile @#
  19. #@ or x11vnc -storepasswd /path/to/passfile @#
  20. #@ or x11vnc -storepasswd @#
  21. #@ @#
  22. #@ (the last one will use ~/.vnc/passwd) @#
  23. #@ @#
  24. #@ and then starting x11vnc via: @#
  25. #@ @#
  26. #@ x11vnc -rfbauth /path/to/passfile @#
  27. #@ @#
  28. #@ an existing ~/.vnc/passwd file from another VNC @#
  29. #@ application will work fine too. @#
  30. #@ @#
  31. #@ You can also use the -passwdfile or -passwd options. @#
  32. #@ (note -passwd is unsafe if local users are not trusted) @#
  33. #@ @#
  34. #@ Make sure any -rfbauth and -passwdfile password files @#
  35. #@ cannot be read by untrusted users. @#
  36. #@ @#
  37. #@ Use x11vnc -usepw to automatically use your @#
  38. #@ ~/.vnc/passwd or ~/.vnc/passwdfile password files. @#
  39. #@ (and prompt you to create ~/.vnc/passwd if neither @#
  40. #@ file exists.) Under -usepw, x11vnc will exit if it @#
  41. #@ cannot find a password to use. @#
  42. #@ @#
  43. #@ @#
  44. #@ Even with a password, the subsequent VNC traffic is @#
  45. #@ sent in the clear. Consider tunnelling via ssh(1): @#
  46. #@ @#
  47. #@ http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/#tunnelling @#
  48. #@ @#
  49. #@ Or using the x11vnc SSL options: -ssl and -stunnel @#
  50. #@ @#
  51. #@ Please Read the documention for more info about @#
  52. #@ passwords, security, and encryption. @#
  53. #@ @#
  54. #@ http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/faq.html#faq-passwd @#
  55. #@ @#
  56. #@ To disable this warning use the -nopw option, or put @#
  57. #@ 'nopw' on a line in your ~/.x11vncrc file. @#
  58. #@ @#

  66. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 X DAMAGE available on display, using it for polling hints.
  67. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 To disable this behavior use: '-noxdamage'
  68. 27/01/2020 21:25:30
  69. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 Most compositing window managers like 'compiz' or 'beryl'
  70. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 cause X DAMAGE to fail, and so you may not see any screen
  71. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 updates via VNC. Either disable 'compiz' (recommended) or
  72. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 supply the x11vnc '-noxdamage' command line option.
  73. 27/01/2020 21:25:30
  74. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 Wireframing: -wireframe mode is in effect for window moves.
  75. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 If this yields undesired behavior (poor response, painting
  76. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 errors, etc) it may be disabled:
  77. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 - use '-nowf' to disable wireframing completely.
  78. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 - use '-nowcr' to disable the Copy Rectangle after the
  79. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 moved window is released in the new position.
  80. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 Also see the -help entry for tuning parameters.
  81. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 You can press 3 Alt_L's (Left "Alt" key) in a row to
  82. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 repaint the screen, also see the -fixscreen option for
  83. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 periodic repaints.

  85. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 XFIXES available on display, resetting cursor mode
  86. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 to: '-cursor most'.
  87. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 to disable this behavior use: '-cursor arrow'
  88. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 or '-noxfixes'.
  89. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 using XFIXES for cursor drawing.

  94. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 (induced by either user keystroke or mouse input).
  95. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 If this yields undesired behavior (poor response, painting
  96. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 errors, etc) it may be disabled via: '-noscr'
  97. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 Also see the -help entry for tuning parameters.

  105. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 If this makes the key mapping worse you can
  106. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 disable it with the "-noxkb" option.
  107. 27/01/2020 21:25:30 Also, remember "-remap DEAD" for accenting characters.

  144. Have you tried the x11vnc '-ncache' VNC client-side pixel caching feature yet?
  145.
  146. The scheme stores pixel data offscreen on the VNC viewer side for faster
  147. retrieval. It should work with any VNC viewer. Try it by running:
  148.
  149. x11vnc -ncache 10 ...
  150.
  151. One can also add -ncache_cr for smooth 'copyrect' window motion.
