  2.
  3. SUPER competitive. Eligible to apply this year and next year as well. For current undergrad and MFA students.
  4.
  5. No residency. Fellow/mentee of the center for a year. Come in for a weeklong period to be there.
  6.
  7. First week in March is the first workshop this year. Could change in the future.
  8.
  9. In prior years it was June. No way to predict timeframe really.
  10.
  11. If selected, there's a workshop of a play you submitted. You can submit one and then later choose to do another one. Workshops are geared towards the writer's needs, work with a professional director and actors. Culminates, if you choose, in a sharing of the work for an invited audience -- not part of the public season.
  12.
  13. Amrita Ramanan is the person to know. Support through the year remotely -- panels with artistic professionals, lit managers, etc. as well as individual one-on-one conversations about the work.
  14.
  15. Paired with a mentor in the field, often "big name people." Have writers work with mentors they are excited about over a 9 month period.
  16.
  17. 9 month/one year, goes into June, only in residence for that one week. Apprentices this year were brought out for a work share that was a few days long.
  18.
  19. $500 honorarium. They pay for all travel.
  20.
  21. 74 applicants last year, larger than average. They expect it to be smaller this year. Only 3 are chosen.
  22.
  23. Only need to submit an excerpt by March, a full script is only necessary if I'm chosen as a finalist
  24.
  25. Writers who go through the program are all ecstatic
  26.
  27. Two of the three came out for a work share last month, and they are "totally delighted"
  28.
  29. Writers early in their careers are not often able to have this many opportunities. This program is process-oriented and very tailored to every individual writer's experience.
