listen, i don't know if you're being serious or not and i don't want to be an asshole, but acting like his is really rude. if i say i don't do free art then i don't. currently art is my career and it takes me time and effort, usually at least 3+ hours of it, for each and every piece. i'm providing a service and i expect to be paid for it. my VERY close friends, i'm talking ones i've had for years and have had an actual connection with, can request things from me and if i have time i get to them. you are a stranger. i don't know you and to be frank i don't care who you're friends with, it doesn't give you an advantage over anyone else. you may think that this "totally not begging" thing is cute, but it isn't. it's obnoxious. artists despise beggars and honestly it's the number one way to make it incredibly difficult to ever become friends with them, since you're probably interested in the prospect of free art and not the friendship itself.

if you want someone to provide a service that isn't free, pay them. don't be an asshole.
