  1. Couldn't you have gone further if you used Mario's Cape, Samus' Super Wave Dash, etc.?
  2. Why didn't you use those things?
  3.
  4. Either I was not aware of these techniques or I didn't manage to make it work (Super Wave Dash, I don't know how to make it go off the platform). I only learned of most of these techniques after people pointed them out. I'm keeping track of improvements in the video description.
  5.
  6. It says "no bomb strats" but you did use bombs with Samus.
  7.
  8. My aim was to specifically ban bomb items. Samus' Down-B is just her move and not an item.
  9.
  10. Why no bomb strats?
  11.
  12. I didn't use Link's or Peach's bomb because I assumed it would be extremely tedious to video edit and felt inconsistent in comparison with other characters. But if I make a 2nd version of this video, I will consider including alternative strats (no bomb vs. bomb vs. what have you). Starting from 0% will be a must. It will also be a good idea to include Sheik.
  13.
  14. Why didn't you use both Ice Climbers?
  15.
  16. It is a stylistic choice I made. I assumed one Ice Climber would go just as far as two and Side-B reaches further than Up-B anyway. Also there is the question if to count the distance at Nana or at Popo, or at the first one who touches the ground, etc. I didn't want to deal with this question.
  17.
  18. Most of these are not optimal...
  19. This is a terible comparison.
  20.
  21. It took me many days to make this video and having to work on 25 characters is tiring on my motivation. While I did aim for some level of perfection, I also tried to make this video enjoyable and include some surprises. After releasing the video, I only knew about C.Falcon being improvable. So I'm surprised that so many improvements have been pointed out. This project has been a great learning experience both when working on the video as well as when people pointed things out and I'm considering working on an updated version sometime. (But no promise.)
  22.
  23. How did you calculate the distance?
  24.
  25. A good idea might be to watch memory addresses, but I think it would have added even more work time on top of the already high workload I had to deal with. I resorted to a simple and rough method. I calculated the distance by counting the strokes on the track, and using this formula: (50/48) * strokes
  26. It takes 48 strokes to cross 50 meters.
  27. So if a character crosses between 12 and 13 strokes, I'm calculating 50/48*12.5 = 13m
  28. If a character crosses close to 19 strokes, I'm calculating 50/48*18.75 = 19.5m
  29. These are just rough examples...
  30.
  31. Some of these looked like they touched the ground prior to using another move, for example Luigi's last misfire...
  32.
  33. It seems unclear how to deal with this issue. But I think I faced similar issues when working on Break the Targets - Riddle videos (where the aim is to clear as many targets as possible without touching the ground). It doesn't seem to be a very big issue. In the case of Luigi, there would have been landing lag preventing me from inputting the final misfire. Since I manage to trigger it in the air, it counts in my book.
  34.
  35. Falco used Fire Bird?
  36.
  37. It reaches ever so slightly farther than Falco Phantasm. It is important to use the right angle.
  38.
  39. Pichu and Pikachu could have started with Side-B.
  40.
  41. Nope, they would land on the track without being able to rejump.
