  3. hi /jp/! songs have colours
  4. Not all of them do, but a VERY common theme within songs that have colours is this: Songs that communicate and portray specific emotions and feelings and have a "voice" (I don't mean like vocals but i dont know exactly how to describe it, its almost like the melodies and rhythms are speaking their own language) have colours
  5.
  6. With that said, I actually very much enjoy doing this, so using the above explanation, shoot me any requests and I'll do them in another pastebin! I'll post a link for every song, even if it's literally some of the most iconic vocaloid songs ever
  7.
  8. Some songs have more complex blends of colours, in that case, I'll shit together an image in MS Paint and post it to imgur.

  15. Onto ones that I only did through text.
  16. https://youtu.be/e5JjR7XVtEoAll (a little important to note that I had the Unhappy Refrain remaster in my head while thinking of this, the colours are much less saturated in the original version) - All of Zureteiku is the classic wowaka grey besides the main melody is a dark and deep blue, while the slower part of the lyrics at the end are an icy clear blue.
  17.
  18. https://youtu.be/NIqm73xsias - I don't know exactly but all of Rolling Girl is very sad and hopeless feeling blues and grays and its like the colours are being cried if that makes sense
  19.
  20. https://youtu.be/b_cuMcDWwsI - Ura Omote Lovers is a very big mix of all very clashy bright neon colours that mesh up and mix with each other very chaotically like one big anxious mess. very very colourful song, the beeps at the start are 1. red 2. yellow 3. green bc stoplight. Everything mixes and clashes with eathother much harder during the final chorus. all the colours swirl around very fast during parts like "jimonjitou, jimontatou, tamonjitou tsuremawashi, aaaa!" and its like they all mix into black and jump off from the top off a waterfall and splash everywhere at the "ai ai ai ai nai!" at the very end
  21.
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k47UkhjzCwY - A Hero's Armor Is Always Crimson is filled with rustic and deep warm colours
  23. https://youtu.be/3rAblF_p704 - Same with Jitter Bug, but JB's colours are less saturated with splashes of neon colours during the chorus
  24.
  25. https://youtu.be/UnIhRpIT7nc - Lagtrain is a monochrome purples, the vocals are a very gray-ish lavender and the instrumental is a deep dark almost black purple, and they blend together peacefully during the bridge
  26. https://youtu.be/cm-l2h6GB8Q - KING by Kanaria is a rich royal purple with mixes of the red in the PV
  27. https://youtu.be/lJB8ByV1nj4 Odoryanse is the same kind of situation as in Ura Omote Lovers, very colourful and they all swirl and bounce around, but the colours there stay in the purple-pink-red ranges with small hints of dark greens especially at the beginning
  28.
  29. https://youtu.be/aB5g48p99i8 - Ever Lasting Night all has very rich and dark colours. The vocals at the start are a very icy blue mixed with lavender. The main brass part after that seems very rustic orange in my head, the main chunk of it seems to be a bright orange, while the end line is a very deep violet
  30.
  31. https://youtu.be/cFYA7iYRrdI - Electric Angel is a blend of a wide variety of blues (including teals), none of them are dark or murky in fact they're all bright and the more beautiful rich shades of blue. there are also orangeish red undertones though small undertones. important to note that im listening to the Rin/Len version because Miku's vocals definitely emit pink
  32.
  33. I originally posted this to reddit, big reddit moment and after the Electric Angel comment someone asked if colours suddenly switch if I ever listen to one of those Vocaloid chorus things. So, most of the time, Vocaloids give off the colours that they're normally associated with, like Rin is usually yellow, Meiko is usually brown or red, Gumi is usually green, etc... But usually I see that the softer the vocal is, the more pastel and light it is. For example, the original Patchwork Staccato (https://youtu.be/p2Irc9NPCtk) has very soft vocals, it gives off a light green (almost eggshell-y). But there's a (very good) Rin Kagamine cover (https://youtu.be/SPiDlP-m0gk) with very powerful robotic tuning that gives off a powerful and intense purple. It's like how the main verses of Unhappy Refrain were an intense angry red while the sort of soft/quiet "aaaa" part was grey. Usually it doesn't change very much unless the vocal is very different from the previous, and I just have certain Vocaloids that always communicate specific colours regardless of these rules (as an example, Una is always energetic in-your-face colours, no matter if the singing style is more cutesy and/or soft)
  34.
  35. and then i looked at https://youtu.be/TIpTkJRJgqs
  36. The instrumental itself is all different light browns, very acoustic colours, but as for the vocals:
  37. 1. 1st miku was a very unsaturated violet (leaning towards purple)
  38. 2. Daina and AL!CE.16 was a mix of their hair colours, Rin was also this colour but for some reason it became brighter and more vibrant, very slight change however
  39. 3. Ouka Alice was a very wild change, she is baby pink but a bit unsaturated probably because of the depressed tone of the song, Nyui Anna was the same
  40. 4. Sonika was a very normal purple and Anon shifted to blue but like, the same saturation/darkness whatever only the hue changed
  41. 5. Miku English became a brighter and more powerful version of Anon's blue
  42. 6. Yamine Renri and Tohoku Zunko were the same baby pink from before with a mix of Patchwork Staccato's light pastel green I described earlier, Len became a more "thick" green if that makes sense
  43. 7. Gakupo 100% of the time is his hair colour, when his voices gets deeper (like in Stray Girl In Her Lenses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKAGVTV9WsQ) it gets richer and darker though
  44. 8.Gumi was her hair colour in the art
  45. 9. Dex was a mix of the yellow in his design and a sort of light magenta
  46.
  47. P.S. all Kairiki Bear songs are the bg colour in the illustration
