18.1.4 reflection on welcome phone call

reflection on welcome phone call 4.1.18

initially when prompted to write a reflection of the initial welcome phone call, i was thrown sideways on the purpose of this exercise. it has only become apparent to me of said reflection when i realised at the second phone call (8.2.18) that i was annoyed i hadn't done it (such a respectively simple piece of homework to achieve, in preparation of a larger project) and even more so compounded when hit with a weeks absence of any productive activites due to being incapacitated by man-flu (its probably just a cough cold but it has left myself feeling weak willed).

So to the project at hand, the whole purpose of this degree is to get a post graduate qualificaion to cite that i have the technical/specific know how of (a) taking fundal photographs of diabetic patients (b) grading of said fundal photographs, so that i can continue as part of day-to-day as a resident optometrist of specsavers in the photographing & grading of diabetic fundal photos. This does feel like a chicken & egg scenario, or in more recent years a number of post graduates trying to entering into the job market in otder to gain experience, only to be told they dont have enough experience.

With this in mind, i was going to propose allocating 30 min to an hour each night towards my studies for assessing diabetic photos (including the use of IMS grading tool) along with other continued professional developement
