Alien- Necromorph Pores

The Necromorph turned its head toward him and let out a chuffing cough. A cloud of black particles enveloped him, and immediately he held his breath and squeezed his eyes shut. Cellular necrosis could only be contracted by contact with the soft tissues in the nose or mouth, or contact with the eyes. At least, that’s how normal necrosis worked.
This virus, however, had mutated. He could feel particles penetrating his skin, entering his bloodstream, rapidly propagating themselves as they began to ravage his system. He knew the vaccine he’d dosed himself with would be useless. There was nothing that could be done to save him now. Only three choices remained to him: wait for the Necromorph to fully recover and tear him to pieces, allow the disease to run its course and finish him off… or he could end it quickly.
He raised the stunner to his own neck, pressed its prongs against his flesh, and activated the device.
