[17:39] <@Illcushion> After a rather eventful two days' worth of delivering information, and also magic, the party exits the village elder's house. Mack and Roy seem to have fucked off to... who knows where.

[17:41] <Albin_> Well, we were promised possibility of restocking.
[17:41] * Vanilla yawns. "Alright well I plan to go pilfer the armory for a chest piece or something in that manner while they're offering free goods."
[17:42] <Vanilla> That spider girl almost impaled me after all.
[17:42] <Albin_> Sounds like a good idea. It was that way, right?
[17:42] * Erwin gives a single clap. "Right! I suppose the best thing I can do is keep morale up around town! We can't be having any pretty girls looking sad."
[17:43] <Vanilla> I'll be heading to the inn for a stiff drink after that.
[17:44] * Vanilla throws his hands behind his head in a relaxed pose.
[17:44] * Vanilla begins to walk in the direction of the armory
[17:44] * Albin_ follows Vanilla
[17:45] * Erwin just patrols around town looking for anyone even slightly depressed he can cheer up.
[17:45] <@Illcushion> A guard stands in front of the armory and recognizes Vanilla's face. "Hey, you must be the boy who helped our Great Hero Erwin take down the golem, come in". He gestures towards the building.

[17:46] * Vanilla enters armory
[17:46] * Albin__ ([email protected]) has joined #monmusuRP
[17:46] <@Illcushion> A couple of chests are lined up against a wall. One of them is marked WEAPONS and is full of sharp looking swords, daggers and assorted bludgeoning tools.
[17:47] * Vanilla thinks "Did that guard just call me a boy? Cheeky bastard."
[17:47] <@Illcushion> A second chest is marked STUFF and seems to have... a bunch of children's toys.
[17:48] <@Illcushion> A third chest says ARMOR but it's empty.
[17:48] * Vanilla throws open the STUFF chest.
[17:48] * Vanilla thinks "The hell is this?
[17:48] <Albin__> Why is it always melee weapons?
[17:49] * Albin__ rummages around WEAPONS chest.
[17:49] <@Illcushion> The guard eyes Vanilla warily. "You never know when a bunch of child-minded monsters might invade. That's what the elder taught us."
[17:49] <Vanilla> I bet. You all were real useful earlier.
[17:49] <Albin__> Excuse me, sir, are there any ranged weapons in here?
[17:50] <Albin__> Or arrows, or anything?

[17:51] <@Illcushion> "No, kid, there's no arrows in here. The general store has a whole bunch though." The guard smirks. "Most men in the village take up melee weaponry because monsters always attack from up close."

[17:52] <Albin__> "And that's why you should take them on from a good range, it's harder to get raped at a distance."
[17:52] <@Illcushion> Vanilla finds a whole bunch of toys. Most of them are dolls.
[17:53] <Vanilla> "It's alright if I take a few of these dolls right? I know somebody who might appreciate 'em."
[17:54] <Albin__> "Well, since there's nothing useful, i think i'm gonna go to the general store then."
[17:54] <Vanilla> "I'll be at the inn later if you need me then. Cya."
[17:54] <Albin__> "Ok, goodbye.:
[17:55] <@Illcushion> The guard nods to the heroes.
[17:55] * Albin__ wanders off in the direction of the general store.
[17:55] * Vanilla throws two of the dolls in his backpack
[17:55] * Vanilla goes to inspect the WEAPONS chest "I might need to pick up one of those darned magic swords for good if Albin won't have me killing monsters like usual"
[17:56] * Albin__ enters general store. A bell rings.
[17:56] <Albin__> "Hello?"
[17:57] <@Illcushion> Albin sees a woman sweeping the floor in the general store. "Ah, yes, come in!" She quickly runs behind the counter.
[17:57] <@Illcushion> "What can I help you with?"
[17:57] * Vanilla throws open chest and inspects weapons inside. (+0)
[17:57] <Albin__> "Um... yes, i wonder if i could restock here, Elder said we might take a look around the stores."
[17:58] <@Illcushion> The guard scratches his head. "Boy, if you're looking for magic weapons, they aren't in there. We have them in the back for emergencies."
[17:58] * Vanilla thinks "Damn this is pissin' me off how he keeps calling me a boy"
[17:58] <Vanilla> "Alright kiddo I'll go get them from the back then."
[17:59] <@Illcushion> The lady at the store does a curtsy and winks at Albin. "Sure you can kid, the elder told me all about you guys. You're the ones who saved our village."
[17:59] * Vanilla moves towards back storage.
[17:59] <@Illcushion> "Now, I'm guessing you're... Albin? He mentioned one of the heroes was a young archer."
[18:00] <@Illcushion> Vanilla finds a small pile of DEADLY SHARP WEAPONRY, which is next to a pile of glowing swords and daggers.
[18:00] <Albin__> "Yes, it's me, ma-am. Th-that was not a big deal, everybody would help if they could."
[18:01] * Vanilla inspects both the DEADLY SHARP WEAPONRY and the pile of glowing swords and daggers. (+4)
[18:01] <@Illcushion> "Don't be silly... for someone so young to be so brave, it's almost unheard of! Well, outside of books..." She seems to lose her train of thought.
[18:02] <@Illcushion> Vanilla finds an iron shortsword that seems almost identical in craftmanship to his father's sword.
[18:02] <@Illcushion> It appears to have a highly sharp edge.
[18:02] * Albin_ ([email protected]) has joined #monmusuRP
[18:03] * Vanilla thinks "Guess this'll hafta do." and straps the sword to the side of his backpack.
[18:03] <@Illcushion> In the magic pile, there's a couple of longer swords that look heavy, but are unexpectedly lighter than that.
[18:05] <Albin_> "T-thank y-you, ma-am."
[18:05] <Albin_> "B-but if i could ask for some.... some c-cloth, i guess?"
[18:06] <Albin_> "The one i took last time is fine, but i used up some of it. It's ragged"
[18:06] <Albin_> "And arrows... maybe some dried food, for traveling."

[18:08] <@Illcushion> The woman nods and proceeds to the back room. "Alright, little hero. I found some wool cloth in the back. I think it's the genuine sheep girl stuff, too."

[18:09] <@Illcushion> She brings back a sizable stack of cloth. "Anything for our little hero".
[18:10] <vanilla_> "Guess I need the blacksmith for that too damn it."
[18:10] <Albin_> "If i could ask for just a bit of it? The most i'll be needing would be for a tent or something."
[18:10] * vanilla_ takes a magic sword and attaches it to the other side of his backpack.
[18:11] * vanilla_ thinks, "I'll leave this sharp sword somewhere safe so I can get to it later."
[18:11] * vanilla_ walks out of the armory.
[18:11] <@Illcushion> The woman nods and cuts up some cloth, then leaves it on the table.
[18:12] <vanilla_> "Time to head to inn!"
[18:12] <@Illcushion> "As for some dried meat... I think we don't have much, but it should be enough for your little group to last a week." She brings back a box full of the stuff.
[18:12] * vanilla_ goes to ask a local where the stoutest drinks are.
[18:13] <@Illcushion> Vanilla runs into Erwin chatting up some local broad.
[18:13] <Albin_> "Oooh, that's much. I will need to ask the guys to come by here, if that wouldn't be a problem."
[18:14] <Albin_> "I'd take some of it, if i may."
[18:14] <Erwin> "And that's the story of how I managed to turn a monster to the ways of the hero!" Erwin beams. "These days adventure is always around the corner."
[18:15] <@Illcushion> The shopkeeper nods and gives Albin the go-ahead to take as much as he wants, then turns around and starts looking for arrows.
[18:15] * vanilla_ waves at Erwin and says loudly "Well at least you're hitting on humans too rather than being one of those disgraceful kinda men who only cares for monster folk."
[18:16] <@Illcushion> "Great Hero Erwin, that's such a cool story! But did you really break the plant monster's scream with just your amazing energy!?", says the lady, absolutely amazed at this bullshit.
[18:17] * Albin_ uses some of the old cloth to pack up dried meat into several servings, while eyeing the assortment of the arrows.
[18:17] <Albin_> "Just a bunch would do, we didn't have many troubles along th way"
[18:18] <@Illcushion> The shopkeeper grabs a little bit of cloth and starts polishing the tip of an arrow. "Oh, little hero, you should take as much as you want... your quiver's so big, it shouldn't be a problem..."

[18:19] <Erwin> "Of course! When a pretty girl is in danger I can break through anything." Erwin gives Vanilla a little salute as her wanders up. "And of course I have my party to protect."
[18:19] * Albin_ spaghettis a bit.
[18:21] <Albin_> "I'll take like ten or twenty, i need to travel light."
[18:21] * vanilla walks up to Erwin and puts my arm around his shoulder. "Yeah, yeah you're quite the hero kiddo. So since you've already been around town with your lady friend here you got any idea where the local watering hole is at?"

[18:22] * vanilla tips his head to acknowledge the girl.
[18:22] <@Illcushion> The girl bows at Vanilla before turning back to Erwin. "Great Hero Erwin, if you and your helper are thirsty, you should probably check out the Blue Brother's tavern."
[18:23] * Albin_ is all set, thanks the shopkeeper and leaves.
[18:23] <@Illcushion> The shopkeeper waves Albin goodbye.
[18:26] <vanilla> "Thanks much. I'm off to tavern then. Feel free to join me if you want Erwin, I'll slip you a man's drink if you want to try it."
[18:26] <Erwin> "Feel free to go drink if you want Vanilla! I have this strange feeling that adventure is just around the corner." Erwin peers off into the distance. "Probably that corner right there."
[18:26] <vanilla> "Alright well I'll be seeing ya. Enjoy your adventure kiddo."
[18:26] <@Illcushion> Around that same corner comes walking Albin with a backpack full of cloth, pockets full of meatballs and a head full of innuendo.
[18:26] * vanilla heads off merrily to get drunk.
[18:26] <Albin_> "Hello Erwin."
[18:27] <Erwin> "I expect nothing and still I'm dissapointed."
[18:27] <Albin_> "Didn't i just hear Vanilla somewhere near?"
[18:27] <Albin_> "O-oh, and h-hello, miss."
[18:28] <Erwin> "He went to go get drunk or something." Erwin sighs. "No taste for adventure that one! We have a mine to investigate!"
[18:28] <@Illcushion> "Hi!" says the girl. "Hero Erwin, I'll leave you and your friend, I have to help my mother with some things. You'll visit me before you leave our village, right~?"
[18:29] * vanilla continues his stroll to the tavern, taking in the scenery of the town on the way.
[18:29] <Erwin> "Sure will!"
[18:33] * Mack_Swain ([email protected]) has joined #monmusuRP
[18:34] <@Illcushion> Vanilla cancels his plans to get hammered when he sees everyone else running after him, saying how they have to go fuck around in a mine.

[18:35] <vanilla> "Illias be damned. Lemme fill up my flask with some whiskey or something first at least."
[18:35] <vanilla> "Alright, guess that mine comes first."
[18:35] * Mack_Swain stretches
[18:35] <Mack_Swain> "morning everybody"
[18:36] * vanilla pounds his fist on his chest a few times as to steel himself for adventure.
[18:36] * Mack_Swain stretches some more
[18:36] <Erwin> "I'm sure you guys don't mind if I lead! You never know what might jump out."
[18:37] * vanilla thinks, "Better he gets pinned rather than me again I guess"
[18:37] <@Illcushion> After some miscellaneous shitting around, the group does a 360 and head in the direction of the mine. Nothing fucking happens on the way because the dice favors the bald, and soon enough they're left standing right outside the entrance of it, beckoning them in.
[18:37] <vanilla> "Alright, that's a fine idea!"
[18:37] <Mack_Swain> "Nah, go ahead."
[18:37] <Albin_> "Well you have the map, so lead on."
[18:37] <Mack_Swain> "who, me?"
[18:38] * vanilla inspects the entrance of the mine. (+4)
[18:38] <Mack_Swain> I only have a map of the general area, not the inner workings of a mine
[18:38] <Erwin> "Alright! Time for some cave exploring!" Erwin ENTERS because he's brave and fuck those other idiots.
[18:38] <@Illcushion> Vanilla finds that the entrance is completely innocuous. There's a bunch of support beams, a lantern and- wait where are you going you idiot.
[18:38] <vanilla> "Wait up kiddo. I'll bravely enter with you if you just ask damn it!"
[18:39] * vanilla rushes after Erwin.
[18:39] * Mack_Swain follows
[18:39] * Albin_ goes in as well.
[18:39] <@Illcushion> The mines are DARK AS FUCKIN' HELL and you should probably light that oil lantern before you proceed.
[18:39] <Mack_Swain> "I've got a match"
[18:39] <Erwin> "Right time for some ground rules! No attempting murder unless something is actively trying to murder me."
[18:39] <Erwin> "And uh...that's it actually."
[18:40] <Mack_Swain> "How about if you get carried off I write your obituary and we leave"
[18:40] * Mack_Swain lights the lantern
[18:40] <vanilla> "Real spooky 'round here. Just like that haunted farmhouse old man Bill used to put up when I was a youngin'"
[18:40] <Mack_Swain> "the the farmhous we were at earlier wasn't like that?"
[18:41] <Albin_> "What do you guys think will be there? Elder said a lot of men were lost in these mines."
[18:41] <Mack_Swain> We've got this
[18:41] <vanilla> "Those old haunted houses were much more artful in their spooks than that manure I stepped it."
[18:41] * Mack_Swain hefts crossbow
[18:41] <Mack_Swain> "we'll be fine."
[18:42] * vanilla makes sure his sealing sword is reachable.
[18:42] <@Illcushion> The party continues moving along deeper into the mines.
[18:42] <Mack_Swain> "After you, golden boy."
[18:43] * vanilla inspects the walls to see what kinda minerals they struck the earth for in the mine. (+1)
[18:43] <@Illcushion> Vanilla notices that these walls are stripped clean of minerals, which is odd, because mines are supposed to keep the minerals right there as opposed to carry them and use them for trade.
[18:43] * Mack_Swain checks our rear. (+2)
[18:44] <@Illcushion> Mack sees nothin' out of the ordinary.
[18:44] <vanilla> "Seen any ghosts up there yet kiddo?"
[18:45] <Erwin> "Nope! Oh man ghosts would be pretty cool."
[18:45] * vanilla whistles a bit to alleviate boredom.
[18:45] <@Illcushion> After a little bit of walking, the group finds a fork in the road; two ways to the front, one way slightly to the left. The left-front route seems to lack support beams, unlike the rest of the mine so far.
[18:45] <vanilla> "I agree. Wonder if this here fancy magic sword would hurt 'em"
[18:45] <Mack_Swain> "How about we not go down the non-supported tunnel."
[18:46] <vanilla> "Well shucks. What do you guys make of this?"
[18:46] <Erwin> "That one." Erwin travels down the left-front route!
[18:46] <@Illcushion> Alertness roll, my nigga.
[18:46] <Erwin> +3 muh eyes
[18:46] <Mack_Swain> "Illias damn it."
[18:47] <Mack_Swain> "This fucking guy"
[18:47] <vanilla> "Wait Erwin, I heard a the ghost of cute girl down that other path!"
[18:47] <@Illcushion> Erwin looks down and sees a very big, gaping hole. Standing too close to it makes his head hurt, so he takes a step back.
[18:47] <Erwin> "I found a hole."
[18:47] <Erwin> "Maybe they all fell down the hole?"
[18:47] * Albin_ steps close to Erwin.
[18:48] <Albin_> "Do you see anything in there?"
[18:48] * vanilla goes up to Erwin to check out what he found.
[18:48] * Mack_Swain lights a match
[18:48] * Mack_Swain tosses the match down the hole
[18:48] <vanilla> "Why would any of the miners fall down that? Shouldn't they know their own mine well enough?"
[18:48] <@Illcushion> The match almost immediately burns out.
[18:48] <vanilla> "Can't imagine they'd fall unless a lift broke or something dragged 'em"
[18:48] <Erwin> "My head kinda hurts from being near it...do you think it's magic?" Erwin rubs his head.
[18:49] <Mack_Swain> "That's not normal."
[18:49] * Albin_ takes a look down the hole (+1 investigation)
[18:49] * vanilla yells out "Hey miners! Hey, any of ya'll trapped down there!?"
[18:49] <@Illcushion> Albin notices the hole could fit three or four people, and its depth is almost unmeasurable from where he's standing.
[18:49] <Mack_Swain> "Okay, this isn't some normal hole."
[18:50] <Mack_Swain> "I'd wager whatever made the miners dissapear lives down that thing"
[18:50] <vanilla> "Well hell. I can't imagine the miner's disappearance was anything but this."
[18:50] <vanilla> "
[18:50] <Mack_Swain> "We haven't even been down the other path yet
[18:51] <vanilla> "I guess we might as well as check it out before we try anything that might get us killed or worse."
[18:51] <Erwin> "Man I really want to go down..."

[18:53] <@Illcushion> "Hi guys!" the fairy yells out. "It's me! Remember me? From the place with the stuff!"

[18:53] * Erwin narrows his eyes at the hole. "That's it! It's time for actio-oh hello fairy!"
[18:54] * vanilla nudges Swain "That one that was trapped in the feather or something like that."
[18:54] * Albin_ puts his cap back on and kneels down near the fairy.
[18:54] <Albin_> "What are you doing here?"
[18:54] <Mack_Swain> "Alright. why were you in this here hole, small flying woman thing.?
[18:54] <vanilla> "How you been down there tiny lass?"
[18:55] <Erwin> "Guys I have a plan! Hand me some paper and a pencil quick."
[18:55] <@Illcushion> "Someone trapped me under the guy's hat! I think with magic, too. And... where are we?" She starts flying around before stopping short of the hole.

[18:55] <Mack_Swain> "we're in a mine"
[18:55] <vanilla> "In a spooky mine full of ghosts."
[18:56] <Mack_Swain> "That's a hole to hell"

[18:56] <Erwin> "Adventure."
[18:56] <Mack_Swain> "wanna check it out for us?"
[18:56] <Albin_> "Well... it's a hole."
[18:56] <@Illcushion> The fairy does a bunch of spins in the air. "I'll check it out for you heroes! Just hold on."
[18:57] <@Illcushion> The fairy does an acrobatic fucking maneuver into the hole, granting imaginary applause and people holding up signs that say 10/10.
[18:57] <Erwin> "Huh...that was easier than I wanted it to be."
[18:57] <Mack_Swain> "We can still hurl you down there if you want"
[18:57] * vanilla takes a swig from his hip flask filled with water. "Damn it, I never got that whiskey."

[18:58] <@Illcushion> [waiting intensifies] as the heroes wait in a circle for the fairy to arrive.

[18:58] <@Illcushion> 5 minutes, then 15, then 30. She's not coming back.
[18:58] * vanilla laments his lack of both chewing tobacco and drink

[18:58] <Erwin> "She's clearly in danger! Rope now please gogogogogo."

[19:09] <Albin__> "I think we shouldn't just leave them down there."
[19:09] <vanilla> "Well by Illias what's our plan then?"

[19:10] <Albin__> "How about finding a ladder or something? Maybe there are some here somewhere?"
[19:10] <vanilla> "A'ight, we're gonna hafta check the other routes for something like that anyways though."
[19:11] <Albin__> "I think they would keep that in some near the entrance, or in some storage."

[19:14] <@Illcushion> Vanilla notices some slime on the walls of this tunnel.
[19:15] <@Illcushion> ERWIN WAKES UP.
[19:15] * vanilla_ shivers a bit involuntarily.
[19:15] <vanilla_> "Illias damn it. Not this right now!"
[19:15] * Mack_Swain_ attempts to wake up (+1)

[19:15] * Erwin throws the nerd on top of him out of the way. "I have made a discovery!" He hops to his feet and quickly runs back to the fork in the mine.
[19:16] <vanilla_> "Let me tell you about slimes, Albin. They're the worst kinda monster that you can swing iron or steel through and nothing ever works."
[19:16] * Albin__ tries to investigate it, but without touching it (+2)

[22:03] * Albin_ checks out the backpack while it's still being held by Vanilla.

[22:04] <@Illcushion> Erica flies out from inside the backpack. "Hey, bro Albin! Didn't you have a dagger before?"
[22:04] * Erwin- glares at the tavern with killing intent. "I'm gonna check something." He goes to enter the tavern.
[22:04] * Albin_ gulps.
[22:04] <Albin_> "I'm in trouble."
[22:04] <Mack_Swain_> "/me follows erwin
[22:05] <vanilla_> "That dagger's gone forever now alright?"
[22:05] <Albin_> "Hell no."

[22:07] * vanilla_ looks for Albin in the crowd. (+2)
[22:07] <@Illcushion> The inside of the tavern is actually not very cramped. Some people are sitting on tables, most of them seem to be minding their own business. The Oni bartender eyes up the group.
[22:08] <Mack_Swain_> "Hey bartender. You seen some dragon urchins run through here?"
[22:08] * vanilla_ waves his hand in a relaxed manner and says, "Hail oni."
[22:08] <@Illcushion> "Oh, humans! Everybody, happy hour's over. Sorry." The entire tavern seems to fall into a depression.
[22:08] <Mack_Swain_> "knock it off with that "hail" crap. She's a bartender, not head of the watch"
[22:08] * Albin_ whispers to Erika "Look, if you find the girls for me, i promise i'll buy you the best sweetroll that can be bought in this town."
[22:09] * Erwin- scans the tavern for anything that stands out. +3 investigation.
[22:09] <vanilla_> "Damn it I was enjoying repeating that over and over."
[22:09] <@Illcushion> "Dragons... oh, Stef's little bugs. Yeah, they just went in to meet with her in the game room." She motions over to the back room. "You guys gonna have anything to drink?"

[22:09] <Mack_Swain_> "What have you got to drink?"
[22:09] <@Illcushion> Erwin notices there's a whole bunch of tables that could be turned upright for dramatic reasons.
[22:10] <vanilla_> "I've been needing a drink for ages now."
[22:10] * Erwin- makes mental note of this.
[22:10] <@Illcushion> "Ohhh, anything you want, sugar. Our still's just about the best in this whole continent!" she boasts, patting a barrel of stout.
[22:10] <vanilla_> "I'm also here on business, but drink is a priority for a man like me."
[22:10] <Mack_Swain_> "I'll have a draft. But we need to see this stef person"
[22:11] <Erwin-> "Yo Oni! Do you know a lizard girl named Stella? I have business with her."
[22:11] <vanilla_> "I'll take a tall glass of stout."
[22:12] <@Illcushion> "Coming right up!" says the Oni as she lays down two glasses for Mack and Vanilla.
[22:12] * Albin_ is waiting for Erika to say something, but has realised that he's been standing in the middle of the room for a few minutes.

[22:12] * Albin_ heads over to the group.
[22:12] * vanilla_ savors the brew.
[22:12] <@Illcushion> "Stella's... she's Stef's daughter, isn't she? Darndest thing, what happened to her." She pouts while pouring drinks into the glasses.

[22:13] * Albin_ sits down, saying nothing.
[22:13] <Mack_Swain_> "Calm down. We'll get your crap back"
[22:13] <vanilla_> "I've got your back too kiddo."
[22:13] <Mack_Swain_> Try putting mousetraps in your pockets. old trick me dad taught me
[22:13] <vanilla_> "There a tragic story waiting to be told here?"

[22:15] <Mack_Swain_> "Or some monster milk or whatever"
[22:15] <Albin_> "A-a drink? But that tavern serves alcohol!"
[22:16] * vanilla_ thinks "Damn kid keeps on pouting."
[22:16] <@Illcushion> "We don't JUST serve alcohol... you can have some fresh holstaurus milk! Here, it's on the house." She pours some on a tiny plastic cup.

[22:16] <vanilla_> "Gotta start sometime kiddo."
[22:16] <Albin_> "Um.. thank you, ma-am."
[22:17] * Albin_ takes a sip.
[22:18] <Albin_> "That's really good."
[22:18] <@Illcushion> Erwin enters the back room, noticing a rather disgusting lack of lighting in the scene beyond a small lamp on a table, which serves to illuminate two figures sitting down and playing a card game.
[22:18] * Albin_ thinks about something.
[22:18] <Albin_> "Did you guys see Erika somewhere?"
[22:18] * Mack_Swain_ follows erwin
[22:19] <vanilla_> "I haven't been keeping track of that tiny lass."
[22:19] * Erwin- clears his throat. "Stefania?"
[22:19] <Albin_> "Damnit!"
[22:19] * vanilla_ sips his brew
[22:20] <vanilla_> "Hey I'll watch the door and stop them if they try to leave."
[22:20] <@Illcushion> As both Erwin and Mack stare into the room, they hear a rough voice coming from the more slender figure. "Ah, Vittoria... bluffing can only get you so f- huh?" The voice's owner turns her head towards Erwin.
[22:20] <vanilla_> "I'll think of something to stay to them."
[22:20] * Albin_ empties the cup in one gulp.
[22:20] <Albin_> "That is really good, by i didn't come here to drink milk."
[22:21] * vanilla_ finishes off his drink.
[22:21] <@Illcushion> "Ah... it's you." She stands up and calmly observes Erwin. "Welcome, boy. I've heard much about you."
[22:21] <Mack_Swain_> "How the hell do you know this kid?"
[22:22] <vanilla_> "What other kinds of brew do you got here?"
[22:22] <@Illcushion> "SILENCE, KNAVE. You will speak when adressed!" says the slightly larger figure, still sitting down at the table.
[22:22] * Mack_Swain_ takes a step forward.
[22:22] * Erwin- steps forward. "You have? But everyone has been acting so weird when I mention Stella...I don't get it!"
[22:23] <Erwin-> "I have to speak with her! I want to show her that I've become a hero like I always said I would."
[22:23] <@Illcushion> "Vittoria, please, calm down. Defeat doesn't suit your demeanor. Now... boy, yes, my kid Stella is sort of a legend here."
[22:24] <@Illcushion> "Everyone thinks she was injured in battle by a human hero, and therefore she must hate all humans! Only half of that is true. Well... a quarter, if that." Stefania beckons Erwin to sit down at the table.
[22:24] * Erwin- sits. "That's terrible..."
[22:24] * Mack_Swain_ takes a seat at the table.
[22:25] <@Illcushion> "Mhm." She sips from a cup of tea. "Truth is, even though she's not capable of running caravans anymore, and stays up locked in her room for days at a time... she's still longing for you. I just can't have her get hurt anymore."
[22:26] <Mack_Swain_> "Oho, so Erwin has a secret lover he's kept hidden from his adventuring comrades?"
[22:27] <@Illcushion> Stefania moves her cape out of the way, revealing a stump of her right arm from the elbow down. "No. She was hurt much like I was... first her eye, then because she thought she could overcome it, her arm would also go."
[22:27] <@Illcushion> "She thinks of him as a friend, not a lover. Someone to cross swords with. So I've kept her sheltered since then, until the day you can both fight each other." She nods. "I believe that day has come."
[22:28] <Mack_Swain_> Well I find that a bit hard to believe. Mostly because I haven't seen erwin here defeat even a bug"
[22:28] * Erwin- nods. "I'm ready to see her again."
[22:29] <@Illcushion> Vittoria gets up, revealing her to be a pretty big bear girl. "Boss, I'll go get your daughter."
[22:30] <@Illcushion> Stefania nods. "Well then. Trust me, my boy, she's been looking forward to this day."
[22:32] * Mack_Swain_ sighs "I suppose I'm not needed here then I'll leave"
[22:32] <@Illcushion> BACK AT THE MAIN TAVERN, everyone seems to be having a shitton of fun drinking.
[22:33] * vanilla_ sips on his drink and chats with the bartender, "You get many humans coming 'round to this tavern?"
[22:33] * Albin_ is not having a shitton of fun drinking.
[22:33] <@Illcushion> They turn their heads when a bear girl storms out of the room.
[22:33] * Mack_Swain_ thinks "HOLY SHIT A TALKING BEAR"

[22:34] <@Illcushion> Erica appears from inside a glass of someone else's drink. "Albin! Hey, hey, that was Vicky! She's Stefania's bestie! If you wanna chat with the Lord, this would be your best time."
[22:34] <@Illcushion> The former owner of the drink pouts and asks the Oni for another one, which the Oni puts on the fairy's tab. Everyone's sad.
[22:34] * vanilla_ looks at Erica. "Much obliged, I'll go and take care of business before I get too buzzed."
[22:35] <vanilla_> "I'll be back for more brew later barkeep."
[22:35] <Mack_Swain_> "This pub is getting wierder and wierder"
[22:35] <@Illcushion> The Oni nods. "Well then, precious, I'll be waiting for you to be back." She winks at Vanilla.
[22:35] * vanilla_ goes to investigate the room that the bear girl came from.
[22:35] * Albin_ grabs Erica and wanders off apologising to the drinks owner.
[22:36] * Albin_ whispers "What did you find out exactly."
[22:36] * vanilla_ knocks on the door but enters right after anyways.
[22:36] <@Illcushion> Erica goes right up to Albin's ear. "The dragon girls were... ummm, not really Stephy's daughters. She just keeps proteges around for some reason! I don't know why. That said, they gave her the dagger you had."
[22:37] * Albin_ stands still with a horrified gaze.
[22:38] <Albin_> "So... we're done."
[22:38] <@Illcushion> Stefania caresses Erwin's hand. "You know, I can see why my daughter would pick you. You have such... spirit."
[22:38] <vanilla_> "Oi, Mack, the hell is going on here?"
[22:38] <Mack_Swain_> "Don't ask me."
[22:38] <Albin_> "Least i can do is go there and take the blame all on myself."
[22:38] <Albin_> "Actually, go where? Where is she?"
[22:39] <@Illcushion> Erica flies in front of Albin. "Right there! In the middle of the room, sitting at the table, with big bro hero Erwin!"

[22:39] * Albin_ notices the scene and frowns.
[22:40] <vanilla_> "We told her about our request yet Mack?"
[22:40] <Albin_> "It's either going to be very easy or fly face-first into manure real fast."
[22:40] <Erwin-> "You think so? I just always give it my all." Erwin forces a smile. "Even if I have to fight to make someone happy I'll do it."
[22:41] <Albin_> "Ok, thanks, i owe you Erica. For now, let's just wait for a good moment."
[22:41] * Albin_ sits down and asks for another cup of holstaurus milk.
[22:43] <@Illcushion> Stefania strokes Erwin's arm. "Ahh, wielding your sword for the good of all, is it? I used to be a hero myself. Well... a partner of a hero." She sighs.
[22:43] * Mack_Swain_ shifts uncomfortably
[22:44] * vanilla_ shifts in discomfort as well.
[22:44] * vanilla_ whispers, "Damn shotacons always freak me out."
[22:44] <Erwin-> "A sword?" Erwin shakes his head. "Whenever I offer a challenge I stand unarmed."
[22:45] <@Illcushion> Erica flies next to Albin's ear. "You know, big bro hero Erwin is talking to the lord right now. You could just introduce yourself and apologize! She's very nice."
[22:45] * Albin_ gulps.
[22:45] * Albin_ stands up and comes over to the group without saying a word.
[22:46] <@Illcushion> Stefania lets go of Erwin's arm. "I see. I apologize, I thought you'd... oh, nevermind. I suppose I'm not immune to some racism myself." She crosses her arms, impatiently tapping her foot.
[22:46] * vanilla_ say's quietly, "Still worried about that missing item?"
[22:46] * Albin_ whispers back "Well what do you think?"
[22:47] * vanilla_ whispers to Albing, "You gotta plan? I'll back you up alright?"
[22:49] * Albin_ whispers again "I'm either going to apologise to her for having a weapon on me, or try to get it back myself."

[22:50] <@Illcushion> Stefania's frill-like ears twitch. "Who's there?" she says, staring into the door the group's at.
[22:50] * vanilla_ whispers, "You're damned to hell if you try and fail to get it back dishonestly. It's probably better to be honest, I'll be witness to your character."
[22:50] * Erwin- also stands and waits wishing he had gotten as scarf to look extra dramatic.

[22:52] * Albin_ panics, but then realises that for the first time being a kid might be a positive.
[22:52] * Albin_ drinks the rest of the milk so that it makes a milk moustache and says "Hello ma-am!"

[22:53] <Erwin-> "Yeah they're good people...mostly." He shoots a look at Mack.

[22:57] <Illcushion_> The lizard's eyes widen, then narrow in anger. She gets up and takes a rapier out of her belt.

[22:59] <Illcushion_> She looks over to Mack. "Yes... I could say the same thing to him." She turns then stares into Albin's eyes, her intimidating gaze looking to crush his spirit.

[22:59] * Albin_ looks down, striking a child-like pose.

[23:01] <Illcushion_> "I was planning to jam it into the insolent swine who thought to hold weapons in my peaceful nation, and watch him squirm."

[23:04] <Illcushion_> The atmosphere in the room seems to lift as she saunters back to the table and yanks the dagger out of it. "Of course, kid. I understand the importance of heirlooms."

[23:05] * Erwin- breathes a sigh of relief. "Haha...I can see why you're in charge Stefania! I'm impressed."
[23:05] <Mack_Swain_> "You were ready to gut him just a few minutes ago"
[23:05] <Illcushion_> She hands the dagger to Albin and seems to appraise him. "You know, you remind me of someone."
[23:05] <Albin_> "I-i do?"
[23:06] <vanilla_> "Erwin, you mind explaining what's going on here to me while she talks with Albin?
[23:06] <vanilla_> "
[23:07] <Erwin-> "Well it's a little personal...I think the situation will explain itself in time."
[23:08] <Illcushion_> "Yes... but I can't quite tell where I've seen you." She shakes her head. "It's of no importance, however. Again, I apologize for the harshness of my actions, and my little law enforcer's perceived theft. You're free to take your dagger back, but... don't show it around. Our people are a bit twitchy."
[23:08] <Albin_> "Yes, ma-am"
[23:09] <vanilla_> "Let's just make sure we mention that lass who needs saving alright?"
[23:09] * Erwin- nods. "Of course."
[23:10] <Illcushion_> Stefania goes back to her seat and starts shuffling a deck of cards.
[23:11] <Mack_Swain_> "So... er..."
[23:11] * Albin_ happy with the outcome he hides his dagger and stands in the corner, small-talking with Erica.
[23:11] <Illcushion_> "Yes? I'm sure this big entourage isn't without merit. Don't be shy." Stefania sips some more of her tea, which makes her grimace because it's cold now.
[23:13] <Mack_Swain_> "We need help. We made a promise to a rather interesting monster to get her out of a mine
[23:13] <Mack_Swain_> None of us are strong enough to do it"
[23:13] <Illcushion_> "Well... that's odd. What kind of monster could possibly fit into a mine, then be unable to get out?" she muses to herself, chuckling.
[23:14] * vanilla_ speaks up "One of those big fleshy ones that digests people."
[23:14] <vanilla_> "Real nice lass though if you get know her."
[23:14] <Illcushion_> Stefania stays quiet for a little bit. "I beg your pardon?"
[23:15] <vanilla_> "Well, we into a mine to investigate some missing miners, and there was a big fleshy monster down there that was a real nice lass and needs helps getting out the mine."
[23:15] <Mack_Swain_> "Look, she's some wierd fleshy slime thing. It's not important, we just need to get her out"
[23:15] <vanilla_> "We went down and talked to her for long time and promised we'd bring a special team to rescue her."
[23:16] <Erwin-> "She seemed pretty powerful! She was talking about other people being 'lesser beings' and all this stuff about absorption." Erwin crosses his arms and frowns. "It's hard to judge just how dangerous she is."
[23:16] <Illcushion_> "If her consistency is of a slime, she could simply turn liquid... I apologize, I simply cannot picture this monster girl of yours."
[23:16] <vanilla_> "None of the miners were dead or anything so it seemed alright."
[23:16] <vanilla_> "Honestly she just seemed glad somebody cared for once."
[23:17] * Albin_ speaks up "She wasn't actually a slime."

[23:21] <Illcushion_> Stefania lifts her head. "We used to drink together. But... yes. I can lend my power to your plight. However, it won't be enough."

[23:22] <vanilla_> "Or rather she's substantially difficult to move?"
[23:22] <Illcushion_> Stefania's face brightens for a second. "I do have experience with that stuff, actually! Funny story... well, for another time. This is not just a monster, however. It's a demon."

[23:24] <Illcushion_> Stefania plays with her tea cup's spoon. "See, a demon is a monster that doesn't necessarily live in the same plane as ours, and shifted at some point due to some odd events. It's odd that another one came into being so shortly after the last one died..."
[23:25] <Illcushion_> She clears her throat. "Tell me, how many eyes did you see on her?"

[23:25] * vanilla_ mumbles "Different planes? Does that explain that strange pit as well?"

[23:25] <Illcushion_> "Oh. Huh." She sighs in relief. "Last one we fought 10 years ago had... I believe 289? That we could find, anyways."

[23:35] <Illcushion_> "... Erica, don't bathe in my tea." The lizard girl sends the tea cup spinning into a wall.
[23:36] <Illcushion_> A high pitched "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAow." comes from the tea cup as it flies majestically through the air before shattering with a little fairy inside.
[23:36] <vanilla_> "So what does that mean about this current demon?"
[23:36] <Mack_Swain_> "holy illias my ears"
[23:36] <vanilla_> "Isn't her problem she can't leave?"
[23:37] * Albin_ walks over to the shattered teacup.
[23:37] <Illcushion_> "Yes, the demon, right. I'm sorry, I was distracted. The demon's problem isn't that it can't leave." She slams her fist on the table. "It's that she can't leave without causing a ruckus."
[23:37] <Mack_Swain_> She's deep in a mine
[23:37] <Mack_Swain_> The town isn't sitting on top of it
[23:38] <Illcushion_> "But..." she ponders. "But if she has one eye, I don't know what to make of it. Our legends speak of tens of dozens of squirming, shifting eyes... not just one."
[23:38] <Mack_Swain_> "more than one demon?"
[23:39] <Illcushion_> "And their strengths aren't ever localized. The 594-eyed demon our ancestors fought thousands of years ago was skilled in multiplication, replacing townsfolk and absorbing them in the night."
[23:39] <Albin_> "Maybe it's about how strong they are in their speciality?"
[23:39] <Albin_> "Like a Kitsune, if she has a lot of tails, she's stronger."
[23:40] <Illcushion_> She puts her head on her hands. "The last one we fought ten years ago... she was skilled in shaping and mind reading, using that to bring people's fears and nightmares come true, then devouring them."

[23:41] <vanilla_> "You fight these often?"
[23:42] <Illcushion_> She rakes her head, trying to remember the numbers properly. "One appears every thousand years, I believe... in the last 10 years, the powerful monster's nations united under one banner to take down the demon."
[23:43] <Mack_Swain_> So then this couldn't be a demon
[23:43] <Mack_Swain_> because it hasn't been 1000 years
[23:43] <vanilla_> "Well then why is this demon so weak compared to horrors that require power to kill like that?"
[23:44] <vanilla_> "She can't even move uphill."
[23:44] <Illcushion_> "Is it weak? It has one eye, does that mean it's wounded? Or if it's hiding its power... I must investigate this matter myself." She gets up before noticing two figures standing by the door.
[23:45] <Mack_Swain_> "Thank you"
[23:45] <Illcushion_> A slim lizard girl missing one eye is standing next to the bear girl who stormed out of the tavern.
[23:45] * Mack_Swain_ whispers "I would rather not get involved with this. If you guys don't mind"
[23:45] * vanilla_ whispers "I've got no idea what to make of this demon talk."
[23:46] * vanilla_ whispers "I figured she was just one of those scary monster girls parents tell their kids about to scare them"
[23:46] <Illcushion_> "Ahh, Stella! My precious, please, come in." says Stefania, a hint of almost childlike joy in her voice.
[23:46] <Illcushion_> "Erwin came to visit you... and these are his friends."
[23:48] <Illcushion_> Stefania pats Erwin on the back. "Go on, she's been waiting for you for so long, you could at least say hi..."
[23:48] * Erwin- stands with a smile. "Hi again Stella."
[23:49] * vanilla_ thinks "First we were talking about supremely powerful demons who bring ruin to kingdoms and now I'm watching some kids with crushes on each other. By Illias."
[23:49] <Illcushion_> Stella flashes a big stupid idiot grin. "Hello again, Erwin. It's been so long."
[23:50] <Illcushion_> She sprints at Erwin, giving him a big stupid hug. "God damn it, I missed you, you goofball!"
[23:52] <Illcushion_> Stefania gives a tap on the shoulder to Vittoria and they both leave.
[23:52] * Erwin- returns the hug. "For real? The guards acted so weird when I mentioned who I was..." Erwin shakes his head. "But whatever! I'm here because I finally became a hero."
[23:53] <Illcushion_> Stella breaks the hug. "I can see that! You even have a little party of friends with you."
[23:53] * Mack_Swain_ sighs
[23:54] <Erwin-> "Yep! We all met defending a town from a giant golem!"
[23:54] * vanilla_ leans on the wall and feels damn near sober for all the brew he drank.
[23:55] <Illcushion_> "Amazing! That means you must be REALLY strong if you took down a golem!" She rips off some wrappings on her arms and shows off her scaled hands. "Erwin, I must fight you."
[23:57] <Mack_Swain_> Well erwin go on
[23:57] <Mack_Swain_> Go show the nice lizard how strong you are
[23:57] * Erwin- nods. "Alright! Let's decide the winner and loser with no hard feelings."
[23:58] * vanilla_ mumbles to himself after hearing Erwin brag about the golem, "Is it really a coincidence that somebody made that magical golem that attacked the town and this demon-thingy but different from any other demon appeared out of nowhere off schedule?"
[23:58] <Illcushion_> Stella steps backwards and takes up a stance. "Very well then... you're on. Don't disappoint me, Erwin!"
[23:59] <Erwin-> "I feel that after this we'll have a stronger bond than anyone else!" Erwin takes up his own stance. "I'm ready!"

[00:00] <Illcushion_> "Alright then... here I come!" Stella charges into Erwin, punching the air as she goes in hopes of catching him off guard. (+2)

[00:53] <Illcushion_> Stefania waves the girls goodbye then turns around. "Yes, that's a pressing matter. While the fight was going on, I had one of my darling proteges go into the libary and fetch me this book."

[00:54] <Illcushion_> She holds up a book with a highly non-descript symbol on its face. "One of my ancestors wrote it a long time ago. It has empty pages all around, but its last page has the words 'UPDATE THIS AS MORE SHOW UP' written on it. So we had one of the librarians update it ten years ago."

[00:55] <vanilla_> "A book about past demons?"
[00:56] <Illcushion_> "Yes, a book about past demons. It's two thousand years old, so you'll have to excuse some of the wear on it." She unceremoniously drops it on the table, causing it to creak. "A lot of these pages seem to be filled with contradictory, almost useless information. But it notes something very interesting."
[00:58] <Illcushion_> "Despite there only being three documented demons, and let's assume a fourth one that you've met, they're all located in each big continent of ours. So three of them were killed, and only the fourth one-- this one-- would remain."

[00:58] <vanilla_> "Can we really explain this flesh girl in the same way demons are explained?"
[00:59] <vanilla_> "This feels like the difference between a magical construct monster girl and a real one.

[01:09] <Illcushion_> "It arose suspicion after she was 'built', if we go with your theory. So, after she was completely up and operational, with no one to bat an eye while the energy was being transmitted."

[01:12] <Illcushion_> Stefania bites her lip. "I believe that was the way she came in through. The book details some strange holes around the site the demons were first found at, but they were usually found after the demon was sealed or killed, not before."

[01:39] <Illcushion_> She chuckles. "Explosives... ah, the King of Umbra tried that ten years ago. Nitroglycerine wrapped with harpy feathers so it wouldn't blow up for nothing." She frowns. "It didn't work ten years ago, I doubt it'd work now."
