The Council of Venice is currently attempting to collect all available information on an unidentified cryptid code named Sam. Based on what little information the council has collected so far, Sam is described as resembling a human child between the ages of 5 and 8, approximately 142 cm tall (4 feet 8 inches) wearing an orange set of pajamas, and a mask made of a burlap sack with buttons for eyes. Sam is said to appear throughout the world in late October, with most sightings occurring during the night of October 31st. The Council of Venice would like to invite all agents who have encountered Sam to submit their sightings to the council’s crypto zoological archives. Agents whose reports can be verified, will be rewarded accordingly. Please submit your reports to Envoy Yuuko Shirakawa no later than October 21st 2016. Please remember that despite its size Sam should be considered an extremely dangerous cryptid and thus approached with caution.


The Secret World: Halloween Candy Writing contest
It was only a matter of time before Trick r Treat and the Secret World crossed paths, like peanut butter and chocolate these two worlds were made for each other and in this writing contest, player will have the opportunity to bring them together at last. The Secret World: Halloween Candy anthology is a collection of four player written stories, featuring Sam from the horror anthology film Trick r Treat. From now (9/24/16) till 10/21/2016, players will have the opportunity to submit their Halloween themed stories for the chance to win a 2016 Sack of Samhain Revels and a Kellas Kitty (or a pet of equivalent value). The winners will be chosen by popular vote via an online poll. Good luck everyone.

2. Write a story set in the secret world featuring Sam
3.Post your story in a public place (such as a google doc) and tweet the link to @athenaintheeast before 10/21/2016
4. Vote in the online poll
Q:How long does the story have to be?
A:Your entry should be no more than 750 words
Q:Does the story need to include my character?
A: No, though you are certainly welcome to include them if you like.
Q:Does Sam have to be the focus of the story?
A: Sam does not have to be the main character of your story. As in the film he can be in the background or only briefly encountered, he does however need to be present in one form or another.
Q:Does my story have to be Halloween themed? Can it be set during Los Dias de los Muertos or another festival of the dead?
A: Yes, your entry can be set during Dias de los Muertos or another regional  festival of the dead as long as it takes place during the October early November time frame. Players are encouraged to explore how different regions around the world celebrate Halloween and to use their imaginations.
Q:If I win and I already have the Kellas Kitty can I get another pet?
A: Yes if you win and already have the Kellas Kitty, you may choose another pet of equivalent value.
