- Ease of using Pitivi.
- Not easy. To work around weaknesses:
- * Only use the 'insert' function (drag and drop / insert crashes too much).
- * Group all and use the gapless mode (I think). Unable to tell if
- it is working or not.
- * To insert, delete all after, then add back or
- Create a large gap and carefully drop clip in from directly above the gap. Then close the gap
- * Save project after every addition in case it locks up.
- * Use 0.98, not 'latest' to enable use of the preview window, which
- I found very useful.
- * Having started the project with a title, I was unable to add additional timelines, hence forced into single timeline for the project.
- Ergonomics of using Pitivi
- I was choosing both jpg and MTS media. Perhaps 30 of each? It would be useful to be able to select them in some organised way, my case perhaps 2 'directories' or areas.
- The timeline is a pain. Mouse scroll wheel seems to have 6 uses, I could not figure out which 'mode' I was in. Main use was expanding / shrinking the timeline to get a reasonable sized view of the images.
- Media library. No preview on jpg images. Preview on MTS files only when I was using proxies.. though I was never sure which was which until I saw the files using a file browser.
- Summary.
- I created a .ogv file, 24 minutes long, in about an hour. It works.
- IMHO it needs work to get to 1.0.
