What are each of our learning goals for this project? What drives us in this project?

Jennica: Routing, forms linking resources.
David: Active Record, HTML, CSS, Testing.

What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches?

We are both flexible, however feel the need to be on the same page, understand what is going and what is implemented. Both are good with driver/ navigator and paired when necessary.

How do you communicate best? How do you appreciate receiving communication from others?

Honest open communication, assertive in our need to understand and meet learning goals.

How would you describe your work style?

Jennica's work style is flexible, she is comfortable in pairing and working alone(dividing and conquering). I am the same way for the most part however when I have a specific task to get done I find it easier to work alone.

What are each of our strengths? How can our strengths complement each other?

Jennica's strengths include database interaction, testing and sql. I'm more effective in organizational areas, aswell as delegation of tasks.

What’s gone well or poorly in your previous projects?

Jennica has dealt with a lack of sharing and communication between group members. I have also dealt with similar issues aswell as over pairing/ getting stuck on areas of a project where one task could be dealt with by one person.

How will we set direction and make decisions as a team?

We plan to make directional decisions as a team, and then consistently checking in with each other and soliciting help as it is needed. Also delegating certain tasks for individual completion aswell as pairing when we both need to learn something to stay on the same page.

How will we overcome obstacles?

If something isn't going to plan, we will try to take a step back and reevaluate the problem.

What do you need (resources, environment, communication) to do your best work?

We both work better in a quiet, organized environment. We are both consistently on slack and interacting with other students and instructors.

What scheduling restraints do you have? What are your scheduling preferences?

Jennica is normally free on wednesday and friday mornings, and for a few hours after class when needed usually until 6pm. I have a flexible schedule and change it as needed.

What is your style for giving feedback? Does anything ever hold you back from giving feedback?

We both agree that taking a direct approach when it comes to feedback as the most effective as long as it is respectful and constructive. Generally the idea of offending someone can at times deter this from happening.

What do you identify as being your biggest strength(s) technically, as they relate to this project? Where do you feel you could use improvement in your technical skills, as they relate to this project? How can our team help support you in improving these skills?

Jennica is comfortable with database interaction, testing and sql. Technically I feel that im pretty good at general ruby functionality and oop, and I pick up new concepts well. With task delegation, in order for the both of us to progress in our learning, it would be most effective to delegate tasks that allow us both to practice a wide range of concepts rather than focusing specifically on our strengths.


What tools do you want to use to manage the project?

Waffle Slack. and Google, instuctor help and student help.

How do you know if a project is successful? How can we achieve that as a group?

When we meet the expectation of 3's on every rubric category.

How will we recognize each other's successes and celebrate them?

Dark chocolate. And and acknowleging each others accomplishments.
