  1.
  2. [17:35] The horrors of battle, always so harsh to the meek and good hearted. The Zanders had seen episodes like this before, it was always a hard thing to deal with. After all it wasn't an injury to the body she could stitch nor was it an injury to the circuits he could adjust.
  3.
  4. No, this was the soul the depths of what made a person who they where. It wasn't something that could be handled easily either, it was a slow painful thing to deal with. With a grunt the Oscuri would take a seat though it wasn't one that'd be facing the ocean. It was low-tide at-least at this point, so the water was far away.
  5.
  6. In the sand she'd pat gently enough, before gesturing towards those who'd followed along. "Alright, everyon come on over and have a seat. Lea if you would sit besdie me." Why shit beside them? Simple if they did that they'd be facing towards the shore.
  7.
  8. Though even if they where doing that the sound of the waves would be ever present. The crashing of water, the shrieking of it's wildlife. It wasn't as bad as looking upon it but it'd be rough for them regardless.
  9.
  10. "Would anyone like to listen to this some forbidden knowledge?" As they spoke the Oscuri couldn't help but smirk. It didn't matter really if they wanted to or not. "Lea's issue is fear. Do you understand that Ulysses? Arlei? Lirien? Fear, it's the great curse of humanity... Or rather it's what keeps Humanity in line."
  11.
  12. As they spoke they'd wave a hand towards the sands conjuring warming etherial flames of raw reika. The sand itself began to crystalize softly from the power exuded through the mana. But it was needed as the conversation wore on the sun was setting andthe moon was soon to rise.
  13.
  14. "Fear of death was the great curse given unto us by Kraus. It was a mistake for him to do so, it undermined his own desire that we have free-will wholly. How can one be free when enthralled by fear?" The Oscuri was pointing out a different outlook on the story of Azrael's message in Valmasia. Something different than what many people would have said.
  15.
  16. "What's wrong with Lea at this moment? Why, it's fear but is it fear of water... No, not really. She fears what the water can do to her." As he spoke the tide began to rise, the water slowly approaching the group. Subtle, oh so subtly, the Oscuri conjured a transclucent shield of reika about Lea. Not enough to draw attention but enough to make it so the water that was quickly starting to invade the beach wouldn't touch them.
  17.
  18. "Fear of drowning, of death that's the issue here. Yet, why would she have this when such a marvel exists within this very city?" As she spoke she'd point towards the lighthouse. It was high enough so that the water at this point lapping about the Oscuris legs wouldn't be noticed. At-least, with the reika shielding the flow of the water onto Lea.
  19.
  20. The Oscuri would keep the focus upon the lighthouse as they spoke. "It's got the ability to bring those who've died back truly for a time. Five years? For most that's a life-time but with effort it can be strengthened. Death need not be feared. It is but a gateway to something greater, be that a new life as the Tocathians desire or immorality as we enlightened work towards." A talk upon death and why fear of it need not hold sway in any's hearts so long as they've faith.
  21.
  22. At this point the water had washed over the reika flames and the only thin keeping Lea from being soaked was the thin shield of reika. Which, would be good. The Oscuri doubted this first trick would cure them fully. Yet, exposure was the greatest therapy to cure a phoabi. Shifting their attention from the lighthouse to Lea the Oscuri would ask again.
  23.
  24. "How's that Ocean Lea?"
  25.
  26. (Ascalon Zanders)
  27. [17:48] Lea's reaction to the water washing up against the shield was intense panic. She didn't internalize it, as it was clearly visible on her face, but she still managed to hold herself back from trying to jump out or run away; a measure of discipline, if nothing else. She found comfort in Ascalon's words... or at least, as much comfort as she could find while having a panic attack, and one thing, above all else, caught her attention:
  28.
  29. She fears what the water can do to her.
  30.
  31. That was the point where it didn't matter whether or not exposure therapy would cure it, as she now had something to work with. So, she sat down patiently and shut her eyes; not to shield herself from seeing the water, but merely to allow herself to meditate. She could still hear the water, so it was still enough to trigger her fear, which was exactly what she needed.
  32.
  33. Lea's mana circuits went still. From here on, not the slightest bit of mana would be exerted or used, as she was doing something else entirely. Through the golden threads of causality that permeated all of creation, which Lea had just recently harmonized fully with, she caused a ripple to echo throughout her mind and spirit, which was visible in the form of barely-visible waves.
  34.
  35. She opened her eyes, looked at the water, and rather than panic, her expression was surprise.
  36.
  37. "I can't believe that actually worked..."
  38.
  39. She still had some things to work through, as she can't fully expel a fear that easily, but Ascalon's help certainly made all of this easier.
  40. (Lea Elisheva)
