  1. 'Sup, doods!

  3. It is currently 3:30am as I compose this update. To the best of my knowledge, it is six hours away from my official level up to level 38, though I can't remember if my mother told me the exact time or I found it in a newspaper archive. It may not be the exact time, doods. I don't even know. The point is, the fact that I am awake at this hour is emblematic of the current state of things. I may or may not have created some extra anxiety for myself by launching my second annual Pokémon Puzzle Week at this particular time. I already have a huge backlog of videos to edit for Shorts publication that will only get further backlogged by the week I am about to undertake. Thinking about where I am going to put it next year when I start the monthly Pokémon Puzzle League tournaments is also making me regret this year's timing a small amount. I need to worry about that later, doods.

  5. Right now, it's a time to celebrate! My second annual love letter to my favorite video game of all time is underway and it has already given me two new speedruns to add to my queue of videos to create. I'm not one to try and gatekeep people from the things I enjoy, but there are simply not a lot of people in the world who are capable of scoring 999,999 points in PPL's Marathon mode. Why did they think it was a good idea to have that as a score cap, dood? Honestly, I should be asking that about Pokémon Puzzle Challenge where the hidden option is available to change that, but the scoring potential is a lot lower with the smaller playfield. I went through those trials in 2019, however, and don't plan to revisit them anytime soon. I would also recommend not planning to go for 999,999 points in Marathon mode unless you are great at making chains, have a lot of time on your hands, and don't have any crippling hand problems. Even playing a longer stage for 10 minutes straight can put a great physical and mental strain on you at a high level. Marathon mode expects you to go nonstop for at least 30 minutes IF you know how to chain. If you're bad at chaining, you're going to either slip up eventually or go hours trying not to. This is not an endeavor recommended for a lot of people. Somehow, I managed to get this maxout in 3D on the Easy and Normal levels. With its own dedicated stream, I'll take care of the Hard level one of these days, doods.

  7. I still have an entire week of runs left to do full of categories that I do not normally play. Now that I think about it, perhaps Friday will not be so much of a “speed” type of run, though it might provide its own level of challenge. By the way, I am taking tips for suggestions on a file name to do the run on for Friday's show (six character limit) if you are willing to spare some change. Https://streamelements.com/cardsoftheheart/tip If you'd like to be immortalized in some form of Pokémon Puzzle League history, then send some support my way and you can have your name plastered on the run that I will be doing. I'll tell you more on Thursday.

  9. I just hope that my hands will hold up for that long, dood...

  12. Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (this won't be going down for a while, will it):
  13.
  14. Goal #1: edit Flying Wiggler Open tournament videos. Sunday, I can start on these.
  15. Goal #2: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard and Normal—and the two 3D Marathon runs I finished yesterday.
  16. Goal #5b: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournaments. At this point, I don't expect to be able to do this before the next Pokémon Puzzle League tournament.
  17. Goal #6a: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list.
  18. Goal #6b: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
  19. Goal #7: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized.
  20. Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
