  1. I think the fact that this album is the maximum length that can fit on one CD really says something about it. I think the fact that it is literally an endless loop of continuous music says something about it too, as well as something about my experience of it. I'm a huge mashup guy, and as I said in my small comment, The Remixes represents the best the genre can be. It's so dense, packed with legendary songs, achieving a great balance of songs we've all heard and songs none of us have heard. I actually didn't like this album at first, look how far I've come since then. At first, I thought there was just too much going on, but I realized that, just like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, its maximalism is what makes it so amazing. Just look at the sheer size of that sample list, dude. What. The Pusha T-Iron and Wine moment, the Beyonce-Ben Folds moment, the Penguin Cafe Orchestra-Cee Lo Green moment, the fucking Edward Sharpe-Death Grips moment. The fact that there's a spot on this album where he pretty much plays King Of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1 in its entirety. Come on.
  2. Another thing I love about this album is its versatility. I listen to this when I'm happy, I listen to it when I'm sad. When I'm partying, when I'm chilling. You can listen to it deeply, as if you were doing a scavenger hunt of great music; you can put it on as background music. I don't want to know how much overall time I've spent listening to this album alone, because it's gotta be an absurdly large number. It's introduced me to so many great songs and is even what got me started listening to Ben Folds, one of my very favorite artists. It really saddens me that I'm like the only way that anyone else can listen to this thing because I'm the only one with a distributable copy; I think the artist wants to focus more on non-mashup stuff and removed it from his bandcamp and stuff. I realize that it's not for everyone, and if you don't like it I will have no ill will against you lol, but with how much influence this album has had on my life, there can't possibly be another one in my top spot.

  4. Also, any album that can make me jam to Stupid Hoe by Nicki Minaj has to be at least top ten.
