My implants ignite. Information streams through my head, electric currents surging along neuroreactive wiring. Pupils dilate, as adrenaline levels rise. Heartbeat flutters with arrhythmic intervals.

My eyes open and I am running through the city, moving through the black smoke and piles of rubble. Enemy coordinates cross my vision, my target reticles flashing from one to the other as I bring my Autorifle to bear and...

...there is a man on the ground screaming on the ground in front of me.

He turns to me and our eyes meet. His screams turns into a whimper and a soft weeping. His shuddering hand reaches into the back of his beck and yanks out the data-chip attached to his helmet.

"Please..." He whimpers, pressing the chip into my hands. "Remember me."
