  1. theoretical> So these EMA can be used at any time frame but will alter radically depending on the time you choose
  2. <theoretical> Because if we now choose a 1 hour candle stick there are 4x as many candle sticks then there were at the 4 hour
  3. <theoretical> and as can be seen in the 1 hour it is below all of the EMA and hence will be having a hard time getting some momentum upwards without some good news.
  4. <theoretical> Everyone comftable with this so far?
  5. <LosingCoins> yeah
  6. <Pico_de_amaya> yup
  7. <theoretical> This can be used in every alt coin at every time frame The longer the time line the Stronger the resistance for that line!
  8. <theoretical> Ok
  9. <LosingCoins> ill continue thinking and may have questions later but please continue
  10. <theoretical> Any questions please shoot now :)
  11. <LosingCoins> none atm
  12. <theoretical> il take breaks before moving onto next section to answer all
  13. <theoretical> OK then we will move onto my favourite tool the fib extension
  14. <theoretical> I will graph this on Cryptsytrader and show you guys then you will all have a go and share it to see if we can all get it right
  15. <thedimmer> I cannot get my mind around why the EMA lines are in different places depending on hour interval.
  16. <MrBoh> just browsing a feww things u typed ... dam theoretical your good ;)
  17. <theoretical> haha thanks Mrboh a few years of this gets me there ;)
  18. <theoretical> Oh Wait
  19. <theoretical> Something i missed with EMA
  20. <theoretical> You also need to look for things called Magic Cross
  21. <theoretical> And the Death Cross
  22. <theoretical> I use the 21 EMA in particular because if it crosses the 50 upwards thats called a MAGIC cross
  23. <theoretical> And you can sure as fuck bet buy in then
  24. <theoretical> and if the 50 crosses the 100 That is not a Magic cross But a Very strong Bullish sign but May patter out quickly as the security should have already entered a exponential growth
  25. <theoretical> The death Cross as I'm sure you can all guess
  26. <theoretical> When that 21 Crosses the 50 Downwards
  27. <theoretical> Get the hell out
  28. <theoretical> Obviously this isn't true for all situations but it is a strong indicator
  29. <theoretical> Now going onto Fibs
  30. <theoretical> https://cryptrader.com/charts/bittrex/cloak/btc When graphing on cryptrader you will want to use bittrex as opposed to mint pal for the majority of coins because they have a longer history and the more data we have the more TA we can perform
  31. <thedimmer> There is a death cross on July 7 but price goes up
  32. <theoretical> What time frame dimmer
  33. <theoretical> ?
  34. <thedimmer> I am looking at 4h
  35. <thedimmer> Just before July 7
  36. <Pico_de_amaya> What time frame should be used
  37. <theoretical> yup
  38. <theoretical> 4h is good
  39. <theoretical> There was a death cross with a solid sell signal there my friend
  40. <thedimmer> Well actually price goes down, and then it goes up
  41. <theoretical> Just before it crossed it was trading at 38k Sat
  42. <thedimmer> hard to tell a littl ebit
  43. <theoretical> 4 candles later it hit 28K the 200 EMA and bounced
  44. <theoretical> So if you sold at the time of that death cross around 35K sat
  45. <theoretical> And bought at the 200 EMA you would be looking at around a 20% profit
  46. <thedimmer> Why are the lines in completely different places depending on time interval? I cannot understand that.
  47. <theoretical> Because the amount of candle's Change
  48. <theoretical> The numbers are all based on how many candles there are
  49. <thedimmer> Ah ok
  50. <LosingCoins> none of the ema's are showing up for me on cryptrader
  51. <theoretical> so the 200 is the AVERAGE price at close of the candle for the last 200 candles
  52. <theoretical> They won't they are something else there
  53. <theoretical> don't worry about crypt trader.com to much yet i just want to teach fib extensions with it
  54. <theoretical> Ok il graph something and share it with you then you will all try and get the same result
  55. <theoretical> give me 2 min
  56. <theoretical> https://cryptrader.com/charts/bittrex/cloak/btc
  57. <theoretical> Go to the 4 hour time frame
  58. <theoretical> its the top left box that says 30
  59. <theoretical> change it to 4 hour
  60. <LosingCoins> yup
  61. <Pico_de_amaya> got it
  62. <theoretical> Now there is a tool on the left hand side that looks like a pitchfork 3rd from the top if you click it and scroll down there will be a tool called fib retracment
  63. <theoretical> http://www.tradingview.com/x/CShYugGM
  64. <theoretical> draw it from just before mint pal took the coin at 28 K sat
  65. <theoretical> to where the pump ended at ~90kish
  66. <theoretical> See the 2 blue rectangles i drew on my chart
  67. <theoretical> Those are where you are looking
  68. <theoretical> Then to get the fib to extend across drag the top bar to the right but make sure you keep the 100% at that top of ~90k!
  69. <theoretical> And look what magically happens the 160% line is exactly where we hit in the last bubble :O
  70. <theoretical> how easy would that have been to make profit if you knew that back then
  71. <theoretical> Everyone have a turn at drawing that graph and then click the camera and post your image
  72. <theoretical> No one feel embarrassed we are all trying to learn
  73. <LosingCoins> http://www.tradingview.com/x/buq7IInw
  74. <theoretical> Awesome
  75. <theoretical> sometimes its actually good to do what you have done and draw the 100% line in-between the top of the candle and the close as it finds a truer price for the time frame
  76. <theoretical> Do you notice as well that the price actually follows those fib lines the whole way up to the bubble bouncing between them. This is the same for every SECURITY IN THE WORLD (hence why this is my favourite tool)
  77. <theoretical> everyone else take your time and when you feel ready post it. If your having trouble give a shout and il help however i can :)
  78. <LosingCoins> i had to drag it from right to left starting at the 100%
  79. <Pico_de_amaya> Always use 4 hours? or does this depend on the life of the coin
  80. <b623> 1.618 the golden number
  81. <theoretical> All of the numbers and lines are magic numbers
  82. <theoretical> 1.618 is the magic Extension line
  83. <theoretical> The rest are called Fib retracment lines which are magic
  84. <theoretical> Time frame isn't important for Fib lines pico_de_amaya
  85. <theoretical> Whats important is doing it from the bottom to the top of 1 movement. A Movement is defined by when a security reached a state at which it changes the trend. So it hit 90K TOP as the trend and then Began down trending Hence the end of the move.
  86. <thedimmer> So this 160% bubble is common?
  87. <theoretical> VeryVERY VERY
  88. <theoretical> I can show it to you in super coin
  89. <theoretical> DRK coin
  90. <b623> this is the golden number
  91. <theoretical> Almost any coin
  92. <theoretical> They are all golden numbers in there
  93. <theoretical> 0.23 0.36 0.618 0.764
  94. <theoretical> for example if you were looking to accumulate cloak coin
  95. <theoretical> you would want to buy it between 0.23 and 0.36
  96. <theoretical> as this is called the Sweet spot
  97. <theoretical> Please everyone else do pictures using the camera of your chart
  98. <theoretical> I need to see it to help correct you so I know you have it right
  99. <theoretical> Click the camera and just copy and paste the link here
  100. <thedimmer> I am looking for the camera
  101. <theoretical> top right next to save
  102. <theoretical> tr_ your not even here :P
  103. <thedimmer> http://www.tradingview.com/x/ccouvzqp
  104. * Tr__ has quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
  105. <theoretical> spot on :P lol
  106. <theoretical> sorry that was to TR
  107. <theoretical> very well drawn
  108. <theoretical> only thing is dimmer
  109. <theoretical> i would put your 0% a little bit lower so its the candle Before the pump
  110. <thedimmer> thanks
  111. <theoretical> otherwise spot on
  112. <thedimmer> That was actually what I was going to ask, where to do the zero
  113. <theoretical> b623 jackstraw mrboh did you want to try graphing
  114. <theoretical> Ah from the bottom of the movement
  115. <theoretical> I will show you the next example and you should understand really well
  116. <Jackstraw> i get where you plot your first point but not where you put the last
  117. <theoretical> At the end of the pump
  118. <theoretical> so the high of the 90ish K
  119. <theoretical> so 0% from the start of the pump or the candle before it (the bottom of that candle) to the top of the highest candle in that movement
  120. <b623> I need to do benevolence tomorow, I have to go sleep, I record this discussion, so the next cloakcoin pump will go to 185k
  121. <Pico_de_amaya> http://www.tradingview.com/x/e9pcML9B
  122. <theoretical> haha maybe b623 wait 5 min
  123. <theoretical> there are 2 possible answers
  124. <b623> ok
  125. <b623> I know 2 possible answers, yes or no
  126. <theoretical> pico_de_amaya you got it spot on but you drew from the Top to the bottom
  127. <theoretical> Instead go bottom to top
  128. <theoretical> And the extension will show on the other side
  129. <theoretical> b623 hehe almost ;)
  130. <Jackstraw> so like this? http://www.tradingview.com/x/QqzMg6IN
  131. <theoretical> upside down jackstraw as well. So draw it the same but start from the opposite side
  132. <theoretical> If that makes sense
  133. <MrBoh> o sorry just saw u asked me... no thanks im good... was a day trader for a lil while im all godo on this front!!!
  134. <theoretical> Wait its top to bottom
  135. <theoretical> My bad i am sorry guys!
  136. <LosingCoins> haha theor, i was gonna say
  137. <Pico_de_amaya> lol i was wondering why
  138. <LosingCoins> when you click it starts at 100
  139. <LosingCoins> top to bottom =P
  140. <theoretical> Yeah sorry its been 33 hours without sleep now
  141. <LosingCoins> no worries man
  142. <Pico_de_amaya> cool
  143. <Pico_de_amaya> http://www.tradingview.com/x/WSyA7Sx8
  144. <theoretical> Boyah!
  145. <theoretical> hi-5
  146. <Pico_de_amaya> awesome
  147. <theoretical> but i see that everyone understands this so i will move on now and show you where i would draw the next 2 possible movements. http://www.tradingview.com/x/YVtjwHzy here is 1 option Using the ATH and the bottom from one movement. The other is this one http://www.tradingview.com/x/WVi4TwLy . From the latest movement Honestly there is no way to tell which one it could be until we have more proof about where the market moves
  148. <theoretical> This is also a possibility but is also less likely then the others because i am using much older data http://www.tradingview.com/x/tviixSEP. I have moved all the blue rectangles to show the bottom and tops I am using
  149. <theoretical> so b623 there are your possible exit points for the next run up
  150. <LosingCoins> all around 190k is
  151. <LosingCoins> ish*
  152. <theoretical> My advice is pick an average price between them, and then set sell orders 2-5% lower and 2-5% higher in staggered amounts so you can catch it either way
  153. <theoretical> Exactly
  154. <theoretical> now everyone is comftable with the fib retracment and extensions?
  155. <theoretical> If so we will move on to Indicators
  156. <Pico_de_amaya> yea, mind blown
  157. <Jackstraw> yeah man, thats awesome
  158. <LosingCoins> yup
  159. <LosingCoins> awesome stuff
  160. <Jackstraw> i didnt realize cryptrader had all these features
  161. <LosingCoins> ive used these tools before but didnt fully understand them
  162. <LosingCoins> this is great knowledge
  163. <theoretical> we are going to go back to wisdom for now to learn the basic indicators
  164. <theoretical> Just as they work properly there some don't work on that website yet
  165. <Jackstraw> i'm pretty new to cryptrader, usually use bitcoinwisdom
  166. <theoretical> I have sent bug reports in on the ones that don't so should be fixed soonish
  167. <theoretical> lets graph some drk shall we
  168. <theoretical> https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/drkbtc
  169. <theoretical> If you switch to first of all the 4 hour time frame you will see that this pump ended smack bam on the 200 EMA
  170. <theoretical> just to show you it works ;)
  171. <thedimmer> Is the pump over?
  172. <theoretical> for now it needs to retrace
  173. <theoretical> so you could draw some fib lines and work out where it will bounce
  174. * MrBoh has quit (Ping timeout: 246 seconds)
  175. <theoretical> but why bother right now
  176. <theoretical> lets open up the macd indicator
  177. <theoretical> and switch to the 30 min time
  178. <theoretical> now when using indicators like the MACD you are looking for whats called Divergence
  179. <theoretical> That is when the Periods of green followed by red are getting smaller then the previous green.
  180. <theoretical> Or when the periods of red are getting smaller followed by larger green periods
  181. <theoretical> so on a 30 min time frame MACD we can see huge divergence from the first pump
  182. <theoretical> to the 3rd/4th period of green MACD
  183. <theoretical> So even though the momentum was dying down the price was still rising
  184. <theoretical> This is where a lot of people get trapped buying High because the momentum is going down through the divergence as you can see
  185. <theoretical> But the price is still rising
  186. <theoretical> And you always want to follow mometum
  187. <theoretical> Everyone follow?
  188. <LosingCoins> what date are you looking at?
  189. <LosingCoins> for the first pump
  190. <theoretical> the most recent pump
  191. <theoretical> 30 min
  192. <LosingCoins> oh
  193. <Jackstraw> yep i gotcha
  194. <theoretical> july 16th
  195. <theoretical> sorry
  196. <theoretical> lol
  197. <LosingCoins> kk got it
  198. <theoretical> so see the massive amounts of divergence. All those people who bought in at the start around 900K are now dumping onto those people scrambling to pick up the coins at 1.2 mill sats
  199. <theoretical> thedimmer b623 pico_de_amaya with us>
  200. <Pico_de_amaya> yea
  201. <theoretical> I will take that as a move on
  202. <theoretical> Now another handy way we can use the MACD
  203. <thedimmer> Yes
  204. <theoretical> switch to the 1Day
  205. <Pico_de_amaya> k
  206. <theoretical> as you can see If you bought as the MacD was just about to go from red to green you would have entered at 900K Sat and been exiting now at 33% profit already
  207. <theoretical> So using the MacD the longer time frames are more important for those big crosses from red to green. But they are the big buying opportunities.
  208. <thedimmer> How would you know to exit now?
  209. <theoretical> So even though Drk dropped to 90K sat's on july 2nd it wasn't actually a good buy until july 14th or 15th as you would be sitting in a sideways market
  210. <theoretical> Good question
  211. <theoretical> Switch to the 4 hour macd
  212. <Jackstraw> i bought at just below .01 and got out earlier today around .012 just playing it safe and following my gut
  213. <theoretical> This newest candle for the macd is already starting to drop
  214. <theoretical> good call
  215. <theoretical> And also where is that 200 EMA?
  216. <theoretical> Right where the price stopped growing
  217. <theoretical> So you know its a good time to exit now because the 200 EMA is HEAVY resistance and there is the beginnings of divergence in DRK
  218. <thedimmer> Ah ok
  219. <theoretical> on the 4H
  220. <thedimmer> So the 4H seems to be the go to
  221. <thedimmer> When checking the EMA 200
  222. <theoretical> All time frames
  223. <theoretical> and the EMA 100
  224. <Pico_de_amaya> this is great stuff man, i really appreciate this
  225. <theoretical> your welcome
  226. <theoretical> ready to move onto the next indicator?
  227. <LosingCoins> sure
  228. <Jackstraw> yessir
  229. <Pico_de_amaya> yup
  230. <theoretical> So lets go on to the RSI
  231. <LosingCoins> looking quickly at macd it seems you dont really hit the real bottoms and tops of the movements but it's a great indicator of the momentum changing
  232. <theoretical> Exactly
  233. <theoretical> And momentum is your friend
  234. <theoretical> You want to always be on the right side of it, and if you can be earlier to the party you only get drunker :P
  235. <LosingCoins> :)
  236. * gravel_ (47cb531a@gateway/web/freenode/ip.71.203.83.26) has joined
  237. <theoretical> So RSI
  238. <theoretical> Ok Hey gravel
  239. <gravel_> ok hey
  240. <theoretical> You have stepped in deep into our journey of TA
  241. <gravel_> like a sponge
  242. <theoretical> We are talking about indicators and how you can use them to determine buying and selling points
  243. <theoretical> Ok back on track before i fall asleep lol
  244. <theoretical> RSI is the relative strength index
  245. <theoretical> Or as i call it the HYPE and Despair meter
  246. <Jackstraw> lol
  247. <theoretical> Does anyone have a alt coin they would like to look at?
  248. <Pico_de_amaya> cloak
  249. <gravel_> lol
  250. <Pico_de_amaya> lol
  251. <gravel_> yes cloak
  252. <Jackstraw> hype and despair how about vrc mintpal hack?
  253. <Jackstraw> lol
  254. <theoretical> not a good
  255. <theoretical> one
  256. <theoretical> because we lose the data
  257. <theoretical> from a trading pause
  258. <Jackstraw> true true
  259. <theoretical> any other alts someone wants to throw other then cloak :P
  260. <thedimmer> URO
  261. <theoretical> URO perfect
  262. <theoretical> https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/urobtc
  263. <LosingCoins> voot =/
  264. <theoretical> actually ufo is horrible
  265. <theoretical> uro*
  266. <theoretical> Voot would be great imo
  267. <thedimmer> sorry, just a guess
  268. <gravel_> shield
  269. <theoretical> I will get the foot chart
  270. <theoretical> voot*
  271. * p4n-afk (ircap@unaffiliated/p4n) has joined
  272. <theoretical> Voot or shield
  273. <LosingCoins> i am so confused on what to do with voot
  274. <LosingCoins> been with it for ever
  275. <theoretical> You guys decide
  276. <LosingCoins> forever
  277. <Jackstraw> yep me too on voot
  278. <gravel_> shield is anon coin with only 1 million coins
  279. <theoretical> Voot it is. Gravel i will do a private session with you on shield after if u want
  280. <gravel_> ok go ahead
  281. <LosingCoins> appreciate it
  282. <Jackstraw> i mined shield too sounds good
  283. <theoretical> Thats fundamentals this is ta :P
  284. <theoretical> https://cryptrader.com/charts/bittrex/voot/btc
  285. <Jackstraw> or MIN
  286. <theoretical> to late its voot
  287. <theoretical> Hell no on MIN i hate that coin so i don't want to even look at its graph LOL
  288. <Jackstraw> hahaa
  289. <LosingCoins> lol
  290. <theoretical> lets start with a 4 hour time frame
  291. <theoretical> now to get indicators on this cryptrade you click the button on the top third from the right with a arrow and some bars
  292. <theoretical> Then find the indicator called Relative Strength Index
  293. <theoretical> Ignore the rest
  294. <theoretical> now someone pointed out earlier that most of the time they don't like to load or just appear N/A
  295. <theoretical> to fix that
  296. <theoretical> Change the time frame to 1 H
  297. <theoretical> then Back to $ H
  298. <theoretical> 4H
  299. <theoretical> Now the way the RSI works is
  300. <LosingCoins> I need to head out in a few, I'll stay in the channel so I can review this information later.
  301. <theoretical> no problems
  302. <LosingCoins> I'd like to thank you for your time, do you have a twitter I can follow
  303. <theoretical> I do have a Twatter though only just made it today
  304. <theoretical> theoreticaltrad
  305. <LosingCoins> haha
  306. <Jackstraw> nice
  307. <theoretical> As i said earlier i am mostly off the grid
  308. <LosingCoins> alright I'll add you (@LosingCoins
  309. <theoretical> Awesome!
  310. <theoretical> Il start to do TA and post on there for the coins i follow closely
  311. <Pico_de_amaya> Im out as well. It was a pleasure sir
  312. <LosingCoins> Really enjoyed learning tonight (engineer by trade, so new to this game)
  313. <theoretical> When it goes above 70-80 Its over bought or as i called it HYPED and when it goes below 30-20 Its over sold or DESPAIR
  314. <theoretical> the key thing to look for with RSI is Divergince divergence divergence.
  315. <thedimmer> I love the term "despair". Oh, the wailing
  316. <theoretical> http://www.tradingview.com/x/Wbgi8dG7
  317. <theoretical> You can actually draw trend lines using RSI as well to see when its going to break out of the pattern
  318. <theoretical> As i just did then
  319. * _jaqen_ (~thejaqen@unaffiliated/jaqen/x-0802237) has joined
  320. <theoretical> the other really useful fact for RSI is finding a true bottom of a security
  321. <thedimmer> So what is the reasoning behind the line you just drew. Is that just a vector line between peaks?
  322. <theoretical> so i am going to just quickly graph it and show everyone as i am faiding fast and need a coffee lol
  323. <theoretical> That was a trend line to show that the price was not going to be able to "Rise again" until it broke through that RSI LINE
  324. <theoretical> And as you can see when it broke that RSI line that mid term down trend was over
  325. <thedimmer> Ah
  326. <theoretical> http://www.tradingview.com/x/RspWEXTw
  327. <theoretical> now this graph is what i really wanted to draw for voot
  328. <theoretical> Ok explanation time
  329. <theoretical> The yellow line at the top Shows a double Top
  330. <theoretical> So even though the price was a lot higher on the 2nd peak
  331. <theoretical> the RSI double toped with the first pump showing that it HAD to be the end of the pump
  332. <theoretical> As the HYPE factor was through the ROOOF (As was the price hehe)
  333. <theoretical> Now that Red line i drew down the bottom Shows the Double Bottom on the RSI
  334. <theoretical> Because it hit around 34 on the rsi Lifted to 40 then Hit 34 again. This HERE is the CONFIRMATION for a Trend reversal
  335. <theoretical> and sure enough there was a little up sure followed by a down surge and another upsurge
  336. <LosingCoins> Thanks again for the info. I may check back in a couple hours :)
  337. <theoretical> Now the blue Line i Drew Was much like the line i drew in the first graph. The Security in this case Voot Was actually not going to be able to go down HARD until the RSI broke the line
  338. <theoretical> Your welcome I hope this has been educational and can improve your trading
  339. <LosingCoins> Let's just say if i knew this info i would be up a few more btc
  340. <LosingCoins> :)
  341. <theoretical> and sure enough as the RSI hit into that blue line and broke it we are now entering into this new down trend.
  342. <theoretical> Hehehe :)
  343. <theoretical> well if you ever make profits from my advice feel free to ask for my wallet and you can send a tip Though none are Needed!
  344. <LosingCoins> Definitely will do
  345. <theoretical> Now that long pink link I drew, is where i am believing we may be having a Double bottom on the RSI and if this is the case
  346. <gravel_> so you think cloak looks fine for now
  347. <gravel_> i was getting a little worried that if it didnt head north a bit it might start falling
  348. <Jackstraw> definitely theoretical, if you want to send me a cloak address i will gladly kick you some for the crashcourse
  349. <theoretical> Voot may soon begin to enter a consolidation phase, and with this if it the RSI hold will soon enter the next Up trend
  350. <theoretical> You were right gravel with the cloak thinking.
  351. <theoretical> Bw6YMTFYsuLLbpuhHyN2dkhAGEqJxtH3yj cloak address
  352. <Jackstraw> cool man ill send in a few :)
  353. <theoretical> But right now cloak is in a consolidation phase with the fib resistance here and the ichimoku cloud
  354. <theoretical> plus there are some whales sneaking around the 100-110k price wanting in ;)
  355. <theoretical> Take your time.
  356. <theoretical> Now there is 2 more major indicators I believe are useful to use
  357. <theoretical> So if everyone feels comftable with RSI i can move on
  358. <theoretical> Or i can do another coins RSI for another demo
  359. <theoretical> Your choice hear companions
  360. <thedimmer> Do other indicators
  361. <_jaqen_> agree
  362. <_jaqen_> d
  363. <theoretical> Ok :)
  364. <thedimmer> And I sent you some cloak, thanks so much
  365. <theoretical> Should we do OBV or Ichimoku cloud?
  366. <theoretical> Thank you Dimmer Your a legend!
  367. <_jaqen_> ichimoku cloud
  368. * Bdomino (6342b4e5@gateway/web/freenode/ip.99.66.180.229) has joined
  369. <theoretical> Awesome it is the easiest indicator to use once you learn how to set it up
  370. <theoretical> lets do it on cloak shall we?
  371. <theoretical> as we all love that coin
  372. <theoretical> https://cryptrader.com/charts/bittrex/cloak/btc
  373. <_jaqen_> I sent you some cloak too, it's not much but hopefully with your tips I can send more in the future :)
  374. <theoretical> Welcome bdomino you have walked in very late to this :)
  375. <theoretical> Please guys do not feel obliged I am also trading whilst talking to all of you :)
  376. <Bdomino> sorry gravel told me to wake up lol
  377. <Jackstraw> allgood man I have had a good week so far
  378. <theoretical> So lets pull up the indicators panel again third from the right with arrow upwards
  379. <theoretical> and find the ichimoku cloud
  380. <_jaqen_> I just appreciate all of the time you've taken to teach us
  381. <theoretical> Now once again reset the time frames from 4 h
  382. <theoretical> to 1 h
  383. <theoretical> to 4 h
  384. <Jackstraw> yes very kind theoretical really appreciated
  385. <theoretical> Now holy fuck does that not look ugly just adding that ichimoku cloud in
  386. <Jackstraw> thats alot of lines
  387. <theoretical> so now i shall teach you how to make it readable
  388. <theoretical> as all of those lines are useless for us
  389. <theoretical> http://www.tradingview.com/x/9szp34oD/
  390. <theoretical> around where that rectangle is
  391. <theoretical> there should be a button
  392. <theoretical> a settings button
  393. <theoretical> click it
  394. <theoretical> then go to style
  395. <gravel_> but what does that mean
  396. <theoretical> and deselect every box apart from
  397. <theoretical> Just wait and see
  398. <gravel_> the cloud?
  399. <gravel_> ok ok
  400. <theoretical> Plot background
  401. <theoretical> Leave plot background ticked
  402. <theoretical> and then drag that line down the bottom that is closer to white all the way to blue
  403. <theoretical> And BAM you have your magic CLoud
  404. <theoretical> This indicator will work on any time frame above 1H
  405. <theoretical> http://www.tradingview.com/x/MKa1g3It
  406. <theoretical> thats what it should look like finally
  407. <theoretical> The cloud is the easiest to understand
  408. <theoretical> When the cloud is below the Price It is HEAVY support at the top of the cloud. When the cloud is Above the Price its HEAVY resistance
  409. <theoretical> If the security enters deep into the middle of the cloud this is called NO MANS LAND
  410. <gravel_> so if that cloud doesnt get brought up it wont hold
  411. <theoretical> and this is where you can never be sure whats going to happen Unless
  412. <theoretical> The cloud Raises with the price going higher
  413. <theoretical> Its a leading indicator
  414. <theoretical> And the cloud reverses and drops as the price drops
  415. <theoretical> As i was saying you can never be sure UNLESS It broke down into the cloud HEAVILY and bounced off the bottom (if price going down) IF THIS is the case then its most likely going to drop out of cloud and cloud will become resistane
  416. <theoretical> Obviously the opposite for the price breaking through the cloud
  417. <theoretical> But if a Price of a Security Just drifts into the cloud That is a dangerous time to OPEN a position unless you are sure of the fundamentals
  418. <gravel_> so this would show heavy support for cloak right now?
  419. <theoretical> Exactly
  420. <theoretical> And the longer the time frame the further out the cloud will be BUT THE HEAVIER the support is
  421. <gravel_> ok thats really cool
  422. <Jackstraw> wow
  423. <gravel_> thank you
  424. <theoretical> So if you can use these indicators of MACD RSI ICHimoku cloud and the 21 50 100 200 EMA together you can have 5 different ways of things telling you if its a Buy or a Sell
  425. <thedimmer> It seems like whenever there is a pump, the price hovers way way above the cloud
  426. <theoretical> Yup
  427. <theoretical> Thats because the cloud Is a leading indicator
  428. <gravel_> the brown lign is like the peak of what should be reasonable value?
  429. <theoretical> And needs time to catch up to it
  430. <gravel_> the roof?
  431. <theoretical> i remove all the other lines from the ichimoku cloud
  432. <theoretical> if you want a band i can show you a new indicator
  433. <theoretical> So the cloud is easy to use annoying to setup
  434. <theoretical> But very powerful imo
  435. <theoretical> More indicators?
  436. <_jaqen_> if you're willing, definitely
  437. <theoretical> Alright il go for a nice fun one that gravel gave me the idea to do
  438. <_jaqen_> sounds good
  439. <theoretical> Go to indicators https://cryptrader.com/charts/bittrex/cloak/btc and choose bollinger bands
  440. <theoretical> not the bollinger bands % or any others just the straight bollinger
  441. <theoretical> I think they are very self explanatory.
  442. <theoretical> If the price goes above that unless there is a good reason on the 4h Sell
  443. <theoretical> If it goes under it unless for a good reason BUY
  444. <theoretical> they are not 100% but a good trailing indicator to confirm your thoughts
  445. <thedimmer> It seems before each pump, the price exceeds the band by a bit
  446. <theoretical> Yep
  447. <theoretical> so hence wait for confirmation.
  448. <thedimmer> Ok
  449. <theoretical> Thats why they are called Trailing indicator as it lags behind the price action
  450. <theoretical> Whilst the cloud Goes ahead of price action
  451. <theoretical> So its a leading Indicator
  452. <gravel_> that would have helped me earlier lol
  453. <theoretical> lol
  454. <theoretical> i know the feeling gravel_ before i found most of these I was just throwing things everywhere
  455. <_jaqen_> haha yeah, after talking with you I understand why I lost money day trading
  456. <theoretical> Because there are people better then me who are happy to take your money ;) lol
  457. <theoretical> I can teach you a indicator to see if a security / coin is being accumulated or sold off now if you would like
  458. <theoretical> Hence you can sometimes see which coins the whales are accumulating in mass to PUMP
  459. <_jaqen_> that would be very helpful
  460. <Jackstraw> very good info
  461. <_jaqen_> damn
  462. <gravel_> looks like cloak is about to take a drop
  463. <_jaqen_> need to c/p all of this
  464. <theoretical> I will do this one on the Bitcoin wisdom
  465. <gravel_> but according to the cloud one, it looked fine
  466. <gravel_> but that looked like it was a current chart
  467. <theoretical> cloak won't drop below 108k IMO
  468. <gravel_> ok
  469. <theoretical> though if no news is forthcoming it could
  470. <_jaqen_> need to c/p all of this
  471. <theoretical> I will do this one on the Bitcoin wisdom
  472. <gravel_> but according to the cloud one, it looked fine
  473. <gravel_> but that looked like it was a current chart
  474. <theoretical> cloak won't drop below 108k IMO
  475. <gravel_> ok
  476. <theoretical> though if no news is forthcoming it could
  477. <theoretical> Alty is sick in bed so there is a delay from him
  478. <theoretical> But that means he could pop up at any time to be like BAM BITCHES
  479. <theoretical> But back to class anyway
  480. <theoretical> just trying to find the right coin for showing u this indicator
  481. <Bdomino> what does shield look like heavy accumulation ?
  482. <theoretical> I will have to look into shield. Personally i hate the coin so never graphed it lol
  483. * prueba1234 (d461a0d1@gateway/web/freenode/ip.212.97.160.209) has joined
  484. <theoretical> I can do that after showing this technique
  485. <theoretical> Wow more new comers are still coming
  486. <theoretical> welcome prueba1234 i think your so late that its almost pointless now
  487. <theoretical> but stay and listen if you would like :)
  488. <theoretical> your more then welcome
  489. <theoretical> https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mintpal/xcbtc
  490. <theoretical> XC
  491. <theoretical> then choose the indicator OBV
  492. <theoretical> at a 4 hour time frame
  493. <theoretical> OBV stands for on balance volume
  494. <prueba1234> i'm p4n @ work hehe
  495. <theoretical> In basic sense it measure the amount of Sell orders INTO the buy orders and that makes it -ve
  496. <theoretical> Woot Well WB :)
  497. <prueba1234> i'll take a look at the logs later at home!
  498. <theoretical> And measures the amount of Buy orders into The Sell orders and that makes it +ve
  499. <theoretical> so looking at a 4 hour graph of XC
  500. <theoretical> with OBV
  501. <theoretical> There was heavy heavy accumulation even as the price was Skyrocketing downwards into the 240K when it was first released
  502. <theoretical> This shows that whales were picking up on the coin
  503. <theoretical> Obviously the massive sell off Was a whale saying Fuck it and lItterly dropping his bag onto everyone causing the OBV to go -ve
  504. <theoretical> but then you can see through the rest of the price rises and falls the obv only really went up
  505. <theoretical> Until the point of the pump from 116K on july 2nd and even then with the push upwards to 300k
  506. <theoretical> It didn't increase by much
  507. <theoretical> So what this shows is that there was a Strong amount of holders in the coin and they did not need to buy much to push the volume up
  508. <theoretical> So straight away A fake Pump
  509. <theoretical> Because if it was a real pump (compare it to DRKS chart in your own time) it would have risen massively to do a 2x in price.
  510. <theoretical> And sure enough at the 300k Level someone dumped it and you can see that the obv straight away went down hard as someone was selling Directly into the sell orders with little mercy.
  511. <theoretical> Since then the obv has remained Flat until recently it is now picking up momentum. So i would say that people are accumulation XC at the price of 140-170K sat. And we will soon see probably that same whale that drove it to 300k Play this game all over again
  512. <theoretical> Once the OBV get to that higher level
  513. <theoretical> Make sense?
  514. <Jackstraw> yep
  515. <_jaqen_> so comparing that to cloak, 4hr on obv, it was really low until the rise on the 10th, meaning it's not a fake pump? since the obv jumped with the price?
  516. <theoretical> Exactly!
  517. <theoretical> Il pull up the chart to double check
  518. <theoretical> But I know your right as well ;)
  519. <theoretical> as i follow cloak closely
  520. <theoretical> Yes Precisely
  521. <theoretical> And you can see That even with the dump down to 65K
  522. <_jaqen_> ok I think I'm starting to wrap my head around all of this
  523. <theoretical> hardly any were actually "accumulated" at that price
  524. <theoretical> Which is a really good sign for all of us
  525. <Jackstraw> people were just holding
  526. <theoretical> Because the more Cloaks that were accumulated at 65 K the more would get dumped on us at 100K
  527. <theoretical> Exactly!
  528. <theoretical> But because the OBV is so high on cloak we actually look at the walls as well
  529. <theoretical> that 134 wall on cloak is fake
  530. <theoretical> telling you that 100%
  531. <theoretical> Just by looking at the OBV
  532. <theoretical> no one would want to really Buy Cloak at 100K and sell it at 134K because of the fundamentals And the amount of STRONG holders in this coin
  533. <theoretical> So OBV can also help gauge the strength of holders.
  534. <Jackstraw> saw the same thing in VRC, hard for them to pump with so many people holding and not willing to sell
  535. <theoretical> So if you start to use all of these different indicators and EMA's at different time frames (In particular 4 hours 12 hours 1 day (IF THE COIN IS OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE AT LEAST 10-20 CANDLES) and 30 minutes) you can see a lot of patterns
  536. <theoretical> Well its easier to pump with more holders
  537. <theoretical> Its just the Whales Don't WANT to pump when its strong holders
  538. <theoretical> The whales Want to SHAKE THEM COINS OUT and hold them. So if to many people have tight fists the whales get grumpy ;)
  539. <theoretical> I hope this has given you a bit more of an idea to trading / investing
  540. <Jackstraw> awesome man
  541. <Jackstraw> very good info
  542. <Jackstraw> I gotta crash, thanks theoretical!
  543. <_jaqen_> yeah it's helped a lot
  544. <gravel_> thank you
  545. <theoretical> Your welcome
