<h2>mystery on the hogwarts express</h2>

Halloween this year falls on Nearly Headless Nick's 526th Deathday, and everyone knows this is a huge thing for him. He loves the number 526. Because of this, Hogwarts decided to hold their annual Halloween Feast a little bit early, so actual Halloween can be spent celebrating the ghost's death. This feast is taking place away from the castle, on the Hogwarts Express. All Students, Alumni, and Hogwarts and Ministry Officials were invited to celebrate!<p>
Everyone is gathered and having a good time. One of the cars has been dedicated as a dance floor and it seems J is in there breakdancing to Celine Dion while everyone else watches from the sidelines.</p><p>
Some other cars have been dedicated as game cars, one for every game you can imagine. There's one car that is absolutely silent in which Josi and Katy are playing a rather intense game of Wizard's Chess, and another in which Kayla and Keia are playing a very loud game of Exploding Snap.</p><p>
One car seems particularly tense… you approach Alex and Pieter, who seem to be interrogating some other members.</p><p>

<p><i style="color: #1c5e6c;">WHICH ONE OF YOU HORRIBLE EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS DID THIS?</i> Pieter shrieks, just about as calmly as Dumbledore asked Harry Potter if he put his name in the Goblet of Fire. Time to intervene.</p>
<p><i style="color: #a65183;">What's going on here?</i></p>
<p><i style="color: #1c5e6c;">YOU STAY OUT OF THIS!</i></p>
<p><i style="color: #db9019;">Hey! I'm sorry… it seems that, uh…</i> she pulls you aside, away from the five members (and Pieter) and lowers her voice. <i style="color: #db9019;">It seems that Pieter had been trading some trunk items with other members and … well, one of them might have stolen something out of my trunk to trade with him. The problem is, I don't remember all of the items I had, and I don't know who could have done it. I don't want to accuse anyone… maybe it's just a misunderstanding. I'm sure whoever it was thought my trunk was her trunk. Speaking of, I don't even remember which compartment I left my trunk in.</i></p>
<p><i style="color: #a65183;">I can help you get to the bottom of this,</i> you assure her.<br>You both turn back to the group - Pieter has conjured what looks like an actual police lineup and has the five "suspects" standing in front of him. He begins staring intensely into each of their eyes, trying to get them to admit to their crimes. <b>Dani</b>, <b>Jen</b>, <b>Miche</b>, <b>Mel</b>, and <b>Pemily</b> don't look at all phased by this.</p>
<p><i style="color: #1c5e6c;">All right, ladies. We're going to have to use the...</i> Pieter slams his hands on the table he'd conjured and briefly lunges at Miche, narrowing his eyes. She doesn't flinch. <i style="color: #1c5e6c;">...process of elimination.</i></p>
<p><i style="color: #db9019;">If you're up for it, we could try to give you some clues to help you figure out this mystery. We're looking to figure out <b style="color: #db9019;">who took the item</b>, <b style="color: #db9019;">what the item is</b>, and <b style="color: #db9019;">in which compartment it happened</b>. I do remember some details about the happening… so we can eliminate some options!</i></p>
<p>You look around and notice a cardboard box labelled "evidence." Inside is all five of the items that Pieter had gotten from his trades. They include <b>Bertie's Beans</b>, a <b>Brownie Cone</b>, a <b>Cauldron Cake</b>, a <b>Chocolate Ball</b>, and a <b>Niffler Plush</b>.</p>

You approach the group and start thinking of some questions to ask them. Just as you're about to open your mouth, Miche steps out of the line and clears her throat.<p>
<i style=>It's elementary, really.</i> She pauses for dramatic effect while the other suspects look around at each other nervously. <i style=>It was obviously Mel. She traded this-</i> she picks up the Niffler Plush <i style=>-in Compartment 2!</i></p><p>
<i style="color: #1c5e6c;">A LIKELY STORY!</i> Pieter yells. <i style="color: #1c5e6c;">You're just trying to blame her so you're not the main focus of this investigation!</i> Mel quietly tries interjecting, but he's going off on a tangent. Poor Mel can't get a word in.</p><p>
Twenty minutes later, Pieter is still fuming and ranting about something or other, when you hear the door to the train car slide open. You turn to see none other than Heather, clad in a trenchcoat and deerstalker, striding into the car. She waits patiently until Pieter notices her.</p><p>
<i style="color: #1c5e6c;">AND ANOTHER THING, YOU ALL SAY YOU...r -- oh…. hi Heather… nice outfit.</i></p><p>

Step aside, please.</i> Heather steps in front of Pieter and looks at the suspect lineup. You were right in some aspects…</i> she takes the plush out of Miche's hand and holds it up. <i style="color: #a69208;">...but other aspects, not so much.</i></p><p>
Heather stops and turns to Mel. Everyone else is silent.</p><p>

<i style="color: #db9019;">What happened, Mel?</i> Alex asks.</p><p>
<i style="color: #65842c;">Well… you were right before… I thought it was my trunk. Remember when the train shook a bit and everyone was freaking out that there was an earthquake?</i></p><p>

Everyone is quiet for a moment. Somewhere in another car, J is laying on the floor panting and chugging some water after grooving a little too hard while My Heart Will Go On plays dramatically in the background.</p><p>
<i style="color: #65842c;">My trunk was in compartment 2 too,</i> Mel says. <i style="color: #65842c;">The big shake made them both fall onto the floor. I heard Pieter coming in… you know how he is with his hard trading. It's intimidating!</i> Pieter glares at Mel as everyone else nods in agreement. <i style="color: #65842c;">I really wanted these,</i> she holds up a pair of Spectrespecs, <i style="color: #65842c;">but I also wanted the trade to be over with as soon as possible. Pieter scares me.</i> That last part came out as more of a mumble.</p><p>
<i style="color: #db9019;">So you went into the closest trunk and saw my brownie cone,</i> Alex says, nodding. <i style="color: #db9019;">I had actually forgotten I had that in there… it must be a few months old by now....</i> Alex turns to Heather and shakes her hand. <i style="color: #db9019;">Thank you for solving the mystery.</i> She turns back to Mel and hugs her. <i style="color: #db9019;">It's all right, Mel. Let's just get you away from Pieter now,</i> she says, noticing how Pieter is looking at her with literal steam coming out of his ears. Magic, man. Does crazy things.</p><p>
<i style="color: #a69208;">Soooooo… Susan and Kai are dueling because Kai told her that she had a spot of tomato sauce on her dress and Susan took it personally… why are we not watching that right now?</i></p><p>
Everybody except Pieter shrugs and leaves the car. Pieter is about to have a mental breakdown when Kayla comes running in.</p><p>
<i style="color: #1c5e6c;">IT'S TOO LATE,</i> Pieter says, hysterical. <i style="color: #1c5e6c;">I couldn't solve the mystery.</i> He turns around and starts sobbing. Kayla puts her arm around him and leads him out into another car. He just needs a pumpkin pasty. He's not him when he's hungry.

The above four members will be representing their entire House by competing for the prestigious Spookwizard Cup! There will be a series of Tasks throughout the week which will test their luck, seeking, and their ability to perform under pressure.<p>

It seems that each Champion chose well (even if they didn't get their first pick) when they decided which starting point they'd take through the maze -- all four Champions have made it to the cup!<p><em>However,</em> one Champion got there quite a bit faster. The more Maze Points they have remaining after paying the tolls from each bat, you see, causes them to move a little faster ;) The remaining maze point tallies are as follows:</p><p>
<em style="color: #820404;">Laney:</em> 22 - 14 = 8<br><em style="color: #7e8204;">Heather:</em> 10 - 9 = 1<br><em style="color: #044282;">Olivia:</em> 14 - 13 = 1<br><em>Kim:</em> 28 - 18 = 10</p><p>
Laney arrived not long after to see Kim running around in a circle, holding the Spookwizard Cup while the theme song from Rocky seemed to be playing from her wand.</p><p>When Heather and Olivia arrived (at the same time), Laney had disarmed Kim and was about to attempt to obliviate her into thinking she hadn't won the cup! Olivia immediately disarmed Laney, while Heather started yelling at her -- something about good sportsmanship.</p><p>
