  1. They've been searching for quite some time, but would their efforts be in vain?
  2.
  3. Rumors told of /something/ creeping within the Swamps of Sarea. Some would say a place of dark magic, others would say it's nothing more than a lunatics ramblings. But perhaps that's all it took to draw these four here today.
  4.
  5. To The Quiet Marsh. It was a disgusting place that reeked of the Crystal's contamination, and years of decay. All rolled into one less than spectacular trip.
  6.
  7. But they had to cross out in order to get to where they wanted to go.
  8.
  9. They'd be on a dock, before them a makeshift boat that might be able to fit all of them.
  10.
  11. What would they like to do?
  12.
  13. Endoth joins the party somewhere along the way, returning from the high life of the castle he's come to transform slowly. If only but his staff were of a darker persuasion he might have forced them to tag along. But Onika in particular had an obsessive distaste for the Void and all things borne of it.
  14.
  15. And today they would be reaching for that cold unbeating heart of the very matter.
  16.
  17. Offhand, he comments on something completely unrelated. "And here I thought they CUFF! KAW! locked you up and threw away the key. Did you deliver a moderate kick their cell doors of bamboo and string?" He'd tease. The sorcerer had developed a hatred towards the natives of this island, brewed from the fact they dared lock off that volcano for his use. Some even threatened his very life and while he could likely defeat them, he didn't want to become the new hot topic criminal.
  18.
  19. He had a reputation to maintain, a SHOCKINGLY spotless one, despite formerly being providence's grave digger.
  20.
  21. ...
  22.
  23. Taking in the scene itself, Endoth had something to take care of first. He's repurposed a perfume bottle for a particular purpose. Spritzing himself as any wayward blood-feasting insects would buzz away. "Five coins a dousing, if any of you a distaste for..." He'd shiver. "Mosquitoes..."
  24.
  25. Either way it would seem he would dip low on the dock, giving their ride a sizing boot or two harshly, to test it's durability. He wasn't going to make his way somewhere dangerous on a sinking canoe.
  26. (Endoth Morvayn)
  27. Avarte made his way onto the docks looking to the other Scions and to Endoth. "So these rumors here, I haven't heard them all fully." He brings up while using his staff as an additional walking apparatus. His fuschia-gaze moves onto Rothraim. "Seems our only way over is the boat. Makeshift at that, hah." He laughs some to himself while looking the boat over.
  28.
  29. He couldn't spot their destination in the distance keeping him from any potential method of just phasing through reality to go across. The whimsical Scion let out a short huff and approached the boat.
  30.
  31. "It will probably leak with all four of us inside. We should all use our power over the element of Water to make this easier." He brings up to the rest of the group. Avarte focuses his mana and starts to convert it into spells to modify the water just before them. Aiming to make it far more calm and less dangerous for them, at least a little.
  32.
  33. The crystal contamination in the area was duly noted as well. "Probably going to find a lot of those beasts around here." The Faeborn brings up while moving his hand to try and sway the water more. On his own, there was simply far too much for him to completely control.
  34.
  35. As for the mosquitoes, well they would suffer from violent strikes of wind when they approached him. It would spur to life and butcher the tiny insects apart. "Ah, those little bugs are funny. It will be pretty dangerous crossing this no matter what though. We don't even know what's on the other side."
  36. (Avarte Mol)
  37. The Scion had labored much to follow the rumors and it had lead him here, While they were simply the ramblings of a mad man he still followed them was it out of some twisted ambition or perhaps the Voidsent's thirst for knowledge had began to corrupt his very mind with only one thought.
  38.
  39. And now that he arrived at the docks he looked around to make sure they were alone before speaking. "We know little about this place, So let's do our best to find whatever lies here. Although even I am unsure, It could be a clue to our ultimate goal. Be on guard." He said as he stepped into the muck of the swamplands,
  40.
  41. The sticky mud nearly sucking in his leg, He'd use mana to create a floating foot hold he could rest his foot on, although the normal forest bound Aurien wasn't too pleased with the layout of the terrain here.
  42.
  43. Not to mention the Quiet Marsh carried a foul odor about it, as if something had been decaying and it lingered in the air all this time. It made Rothraim wonder just how many had lost their lives to the dreadful land before them.
  44.
  45. As he noticed the makeshift boat he'd inspect it first, making sure there wasn't anything that would sink them before he and his clan members took a step upon it.
  46.
  47. "It seems stable enough but let's be sure. " While he wasn't necessarily one who was good at crafting he could check for any holes in the boat that would sink them.
  48. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  49. EXP Gain: [691*100%=691]
  50. [Everyone who's checking on the boat, please do /roll 20]
  51.
  52. Avarte Mol has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 10.
  53. Rothraim Vykanos has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 10.
  54. Endoth Morvayn has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 15.
  55. Emilia Stone has rolled a 69420-sided die. It came up as 32529.
  56. The Boat itself doesn't seem too trustworthy. You all can come to that conclusion fairly easily.
  57.
  58. You also might have an inkling that the wood used for the boat comes from the trees around the swamp.
  59.
  60. What would you all like to do?
  61.
  62. Athelrun has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 7.
  63. Endoth Morvayn has rolled a 0100010101001101010010010100110001001001010000010010000001010011010101000100111101001110010001010010000001001001010100110010000001000001001000000101011101001000010011110101001001000101-sided die. It came up as 6.0131301996933214e+181.
  64. Emilia Stone has rolled a 691293849401202934895838291029283748596907039102293948576-sided die. It came up as 4.497536411027153e+56.
  65. Endoth Morvayn says, "Where's that plantmancer?"
  66. Making a gaze at his surroundings, Endoth makes a tired observation as a practiced herbalist. "Some trees produce polysaccharides... Gum so to speak. If this has any holes in it, we can patch it with that." If the trees here weren't of that type, he'd probably have to do some genuine alchemy to produce a glue of sorts, and that was an effort of the type he wasn't sure he wanted to exact.
  67.
  68. "Can someone whack the trees? See if anything leaks out? Where there's a dock there's a fisherman's CUFF! hut. Presuming they're dead, my bet is they have a back-up raft..." Endoth, leaving them with his insight, was going to explore for what he has aforementioned.
  69. (Endoth Morvayn)
  70. After close inspection of the makeshift Boat Rothraim quickly turned away looking towards the wood that had been used to make the boat itself, Turning his attention to the suggestion Avarte had given.
  71.
  72. "I don't think i'm getting on this thing...not yet anyways. You lot give me a hand here." He claimed as he began to walk over towards the trees nearby the swamp.
  73.
  74. "Yeah Avarte you're right, think we should trust our skill in Water Magic, Myself and Sindarin should be able to do something but let's try to reinforce the ship with more of the wood from those trees over there." While Rothraim wasn't usually one for physical labor he'd gotten use to cutting down trees with blades of high pressured water.
  75.
  76. Easily slashing them down to be used to reinforce the boat. "As much as our water magic can do we don't want to tire ourselves out in case we have to fight." he expected it, something about this place gave off the energy that they were being watched.
  77.
  78. Or at the very least could be attacked at any moment.
  79. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  80. EXP Gain: [507*100%=507]
  81. Avarte grimaced at the boat when he looked it over.
  82.
  83. "Okay, that's terrible." He regards towards the boat. When the statement to find the Fisherman came up, he raised an eyebrow. "That is a wonderful idea." He shakes his head at Rothraim's statement about getting tired then.
  84.
  85. "That's true, but..." With those words, he points a finger towards the nearby tree line and sends off a Essence Bomb utilizing the numerous elements of Rhyst. Water and earth was melded into one an a medium sized explosion would hit the nearby trees causing many of them to collapse.
  86.
  87. "Don't panic, I know that was crazy.~" He brings up to the others that were with him. His whimsical nature was always such, he sought to do only what he desired to do. Finding someone on these docks was a brilliant idea. So he did what he was sure would bring at least one person to investigate, or something to investigate.
  88. (Avarte Mol)
  89. Jack Gregnam has rolled a 100-sided die. It came up as 88.
  90. Endoth would know exactly what to look for. The boat was riddled with holes and the trees around would produce enough gum to fix it!
  91.
  92. So with Rothraim and Avarte cutting them down, they'd have plenty of material to repair the boat.
  93.
  94. Yet Avarte's attempt at drawing attention to themselves might end up being a bit of an issue. As the trees shatter and fall into the murky swamp below, some of them might be able to hear or see... something.
  95.
  96. Movement from the water, waves being formed and racing over to the fallen trees.
  97.
  98. They can't see anything else, and well there doesn't seem to be anything else around this area. As no one comes out to investigate.
  99.
  100. Avarte Mol says, "... Not a soul in sight?"
  101. Rothraim Vykanos says, "It seems that way..."
  102. Endoth returns in time. Though with no backup boat, instead a sharp instrument often used in embalming, now coated in gum, a sum of which he's idly allowed to glob in his hand. "Best I can do, alas."
  103.
  104. Now back at the scene his eyes narrow to a squint. There was something in the water. It could be fish, but his mind says alligators. One way to find out. He could kill them.
  105.
  106. Though trying to exterminate any potential oversized reptilians is a fools effort, as the swamplands are likely populated by hundreds if not thousands.
  107.
  108. For the time being, he's just going to try and stop up any evident holes, leaks, or cracks.
  109. (Endoth Morvayn)
  110. Rothraim began to gather the pieces of wood, and began repairing the ship with what they had, His work on the village foundation helped him in some regard in this, using the wood and some vines from the swamp he'd helped to reinforce the ship and plug any holes, while working with the others.
  111.
  112. "This should be enough to get us through the rest of the swamp..." As sharp as Rothraim was he didn't take notice to the he momvement in the water as it seemed he was more focused on Avarte's use of magic to blow up the trees instead.
  113.
  114. "Hey be a bit more modest, we don't know whats out there and you could be givin away our location to the enemy." Avarte was always one to jump the blade so quickly almost as much as sindarin.
  115.
  116. But there were times when they needed to do that its why he kept him around after all to take the risks Rothraim couldn't. His attention then turned to Endoth.
  117.
  118. "There doesn't seem to be anyone around here, No fisherman but theres a boat here? I wonder who left it...its almost like their telling us to get on.." He shuddered but at this point he had no choice.
  119.
  120. "Lets move forwards everyone." He said taking a step onto the boat, Using his control over the water to control the direction the boat drifted in. And of course he would head towards the most dense part of whatever corruption lied within this place.
  121. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  122. EXP Gain: [669*100%=669]
  123. For Sindarin,
  124.
  125. Your party has found a boat, they're taking the time to repair it for the journey across The Quiet Marsh (a massive swamp)
  126.
  127. There MAY or MAY NOT be something in the water...
  128.
  129. x2
  130. Avarte looked through the tree line at the various destroyed objects, it brought some joy to him to destroy things again. It had been so long since he just freely attacked something.
  131.
  132. He spoke briefly about the lacking response and found it odd. Perhaps this was why there was only the sole makeshift boat here? It was a hard thing for the simple Faerla to process but recognizing had gloomy and morbid it all looked, it made sense.
  133.
  134. A disappointed huff escaped from him, but the little sounds of water rippling were picked up by his enhanced hearing. Avarte quickly turned his gaze towards the water only to witness the large ripples and movement that was racing towards the fallen trees.
  135.
  136. The Faerla made himself silent while weaving the elements of Ryhst once more. He would move through reality by phasing himself and appear next to Endoth who had started working on the boat. His fuschia gaze remain locked onto the water trying to comprehend what this creature may be.
  137.
  138. "Mmmf. Seems the water is quite populated. Yes, let's move forward... I imagine whatever is in the water has quite the appetite. Maybe even more than one of them, honestly." He brings up while stepping into the boat alongside Rothraim. Aiming to use his own Aquamancy to aid Rothraim's efforts of controlling the boats direction.
  139. (Avarte Mol)
  140. Sindarin had not been much use yet as they prepared themselves to enter into the March. Much like Rothraim, Sindarin also had recently developed in Aquamancy and would be sure to aid the efforts in controlling the boat as well so they would move with ease.
  141.
  142. The water was ominous and after witnessing the ripples moving as they did Sindarin knew they could expect some kind of resistance along the way. He was aware of the movements and kept his staff ready as he sat in the boat among the others. Whatever lurked below would likely want to stay down there or it might face the wraith of the Syllthas clan. He felt confident in their ability to slay anything that might appear but the land was changing and the beasts were as well.
  143.
  144. Sindarin would keep his mouth shut for the time being as they made their way forward. Sindarin remembered when he and Rothraim were still new to the island and teamed up to form the Syllthas clan, looking back he felt impressed they made it so far given the oppression they faced. There was no way they would go through all that and be stopped here by a swamp monster but the possibility lingered in his mind.
  145.
  146. Sindarin would sit at the back of the boat scouting over the water as they glided along slowly.
  147. (Sindarin Signus)
  148. [Boat repaired! You'll have bonuses later on because of it.]
  149.
  150. The Boat is quickly repaired, and the swimming in the water doesn't go unnoticed. Yet whatever threats might lay deeper within would be dealt with. If it ever came up that is.
  151.
  152. So the group would be off, presumably. There'd be 4 paddles within the ship. Necessary to get the hunk of driftwood to go anywhere.
  153.
  154. They'd each need to paddle, or use some of their magic, to keep on going.
  155.
  156. [If you're using magic to help the boat, /roll 20 for me]
  157.
  158. The Swamp Itself is... what you'd expect. Dark, dreary, gloomy, smelly, everything's bad. But perhaps you were all used to the smell of decomposition?
  159.
  160. But there's something upcoming, a rumble underneath.
  161. Avarte Mol has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 17.
  162. Endoth Morvayn has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 5.
  163. Sindarin Signus has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 2.
  164. Rothraim Vykanos has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 8.
  165. Mounting the boat, Endoth would clap his hand together in prayer, getting ready to make an attempt to find some foul magic inside of himself to speed the boat along. Though he finds his companions far more suited to the task.
  166.
  167. Given that foreknowledge, instead he'd just keep his hands together, readying some sorcery for any fiendish things that may descent upon their journey. In this focused state, he's an even poorer conversationalist than usual.
  168. (Endoth Morvayn)
  169. You have leveled up!
  170. You are now level 52.
  171. The familiar smell of decay, no of the decomposition, something Rothraim would notice immediately as the sour smell filled his nostrils. He however didn't show any adverse reaction to the smell.
  172.
  173. Given Rothraim's history and the demise of his clan prior, he was well aware of just what it mean to to be around dead things. "There's alot of death in this area...that must mean we're getting closer to our goal. Everyone be sure to stay on your toes."
  174.
  175. The excitement in Rothraim's spirit would overcome the fear he felt, or perhaps it was just foolish bravery he put on in front of the members of his clan, and yet he knew that whatever slept here would be useful in his connection with the Void.
  176.
  177. Just how long did they have to keep hiding? How much longer until they could freely change the land of Sarea into the image they desired? It still would be unknown and yet Rothraim continued forwards.
  178.
  179. Being sure to keep an eye out for his surroundings just in case anything would sneak up on them, however when he felt the rumble he'd begin to search for an enemy aiming to see just what exactly was causing the disturbance. Just as he expected something was on their trail.
  180. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  181. EXP Gain: [586*100%=586]
  182. Sindarin would lean on the back of the boat perched over looking at the water. It was thick with algae floating on the top in thick foamy layers. As he would channel his mana through the boat and into the water around it to help guide it he would begin feeling his mana cutting off slightly as a rumbling began to occur underneath the water.
  183.
  184. Ripples began appearing in different sections of swamp as the quaking stayed at a steady rate. He would grab a paddle almost instantly and began using that just incase to move them quicker. He was not to fond of the way the water rippled with rumbling underneath, surely something was about to present itself to them and they were not in a very good position being on a shitty boat and all.
  185.
  186. "Prepare, expect anything at this point." said Sindarin, he did not anyone to be caught off guard. This situation could go so many bad ways and so he hoped their combined magic and strengths would be enough to get them through to their destination. Sindarin had been hunted, whipped, imprisoned, and many other things in pursuits of his mission and he would not let a swamp beast stop him now but it was still too soon to tell what was happening exactly.
  187. (Sindarin Signus)
  188. With the boat now repaired, Avarte offers a compliment to Endoth. "Good thinking, Endoth." He brings up while using his free hand to grab one of the oars and help move the boat across alongside the others. It was quite difficult to move the boat physically through the murky waters. He wasn't even able to tell how deep it went. However, his mind was more focused on the creature(s) that were witnessed about the water.
  189.
  190. His magic continued to aid the boat by stirring the waters to aid them, alongside the other Aquamancers. A groan left him then when he noticed that the ripples were still not gone yet. Avarte raised an eyebrow while the magical energy of his tattoos shimmered a single time in a spark of pure white. All of them lit up for a second and then it faded away as quickly as it had appeared.
  191.
  192. "Keep your wits about you. There's so much magic condensed in this place... It's a bit intoxicating, honestly." He tells everyone in the boat while taking a moment to glance at the blade on his back. Would he need to use Bladesong against those monsters? The thought entered his mind yet he refocused on the task at hand. They needed to find the land beyond this water.
  193. (Avarte Mol)
  194. Sindarin Signus has been invited to the party.
  195. Sindarin Signus has been added to the party.
  196. Avarte Mol has been invited to the party.
  197. Avarte Mol has been added to the party.
  198. Endoth Morvayn has been invited to the party.
  199. Endoth Morvayn has been added to the party.
  200. It doesn't take long for the rumbling underneath to turn into something more frantic. It's as if something is stirring around their boat! Something huge was preparing to make its entrace,
  201.
  202. And that would be... It.
  203.
  204. Out from under their boat many fleshy, mushroom covered, tendrils rise up and about. Like the tentacles of a kraken, they'd flap around in the air before attempting to strike out against the boat.
  205.
  206. Out to the north they could see an Island, and what seemed to be a... hut? Perhaps this could be a safe haven from the monster.
  207.
  208. But would they be able to get to it before the Monster destroyed their boat?
  209.
  210. [SKILL CHALLENGE!
  211.
  212. There's a monster attacking your boat... what will you do?
  213.
  214. You can either Help Fend Off the Monster, or help Drive the Boat forward.
  215.
  216. You'll drop an rp, state in LOOC which you're doing, and /roll 20. I'll attach modifiers based on the rp.
  217.
  218. You also have bonuses from fixing the boat and from using magic to help move the Boat.]
  219.
  220.
  221. Rothraim would be stunned to see the massive tentacle that popped out form under the surface of the murky waters. He couldn't imagine just what the creature actually looked like and for a moment Rothraim quickly sprung into action.
  222.
  223. Creating a sphere of Dense water around the ship to fend off the attack by the tentacle before quickly giving orders to his clan members. "Sindarin, Avarte you two take care of that thing while me and Endoth will bring the boat to that island, we'll rejoin you once we secured it. We don't know how much further in we have to go by water not to mention getting back...we can't afford to lose the boat." He would focus on defense while the others focused on offence.
  224.
  225. While the hut on the isle in the distance did interest him he wasn't about to let his curiosity get the better of him in this instance. Using his sourcery he'd create a surge of mana that would push the ship forwards and hopefully to safety so he could help his friends.
  226.
  227. "Endoth give me a hand here, Otherwise we'll capsize!" he said as the heavy tentacles came down again nearly splashing a wave of muck and mud towards them Rothraim using his powers to defend as best he could. While he awaited an opportunity Sindarin and Avarte could make so they could move the ship to safety
  228. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  229. EXP Gain: [641*100%=641]
  230. Sindarin would be lying if he said he was surprised when Tentacles appeared around their boat preparing to destroy it and leave them stranded in the thick Marsh waters and if this was to happen they would not be in a good position to fend off against the beast in its own habitat.
  231.
  232. Sindarin took his staff and rushed over to Avarte's side.
  233.
  234. "Avarte, me and you will focus on attacking this beast while the other two move us forward. It is our best bet."
  235.
  236. The Void gem and Fairy tear gems on his staff lit up a dark purple color as Discord Orbs swarmed the area around him. He would unleash the full force of his magic against the Kraken and hope Avarte and his attacks would be enough to buy Endoth and Rothraim some time to move them out of harms way.
  237.
  238. "There is hut over there!"
  239.
  240. Sindarin pointed to the hut while looking to Roth.
  241.
  242. "Lets make our way there! Avarte unleash everything you have on this monster."
  243.
  244. This would be a good chance for him to test his new upgrades to his weapon. He would not let them fail this, they set out two years ago on this mission and had went through so much and he would be damned if they failed now
  245. (Sindarin Signus)
  246.
  247. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFY7i7pJAXg )
  248.
  249. As they continued to row the boat, something displaced Avarte's magical control proximity. The waters that were obeying his control had been penetrated by something of a strong magical presence of its own. His eyes turned to the side slowly then as he looked around and saw nothing at all. "Huh...."He voiced but didn't add anything else into his thoughts while he turned back forward.
  250.
  251. Rumbling started and the numerous fleshy, mushroom covered tendrils raised up and around. They were thick and horrifying as he looked at them, like grotesque murder batons. "What the!" The whimsical Faeborn called out while in the distance there was the land.
  252.
  253. This was not something so small as alligators though. He had wondered what could pierce his proximity outside of another extremely powerful magi, and he found his answer quite swiftly. Before he could bother to think up a way to deal with this overwhelming situation, the Senior Scions were on it immediately. Orders rang from both Sindarin and Rothraim to the party
  254.
  255. The youngest Scion let go of the oar immediately and nodded his head. "I'm on it. Sindarin, keep some distance and take those squishy mushroom things out! We can't let those get ahold of the boat, it won't survive it." He regards while taking not the sword, but the staff off of his bakc.
  256.
  257. Magical energy flared bright through his tattoos as they lit up. His forehead and chestplate shined in a brilliant white as the elements of Rhyst began to swerve to his command. The seas churned from the Aquamancers pushing the boat, and from the others now using its power to face off the beast of the swamp.
  258.
  259. "Everything!?" Avarte asked loudly to Sindarin whilst reaching towards the blade. "The boat is too small! I can't use Bladesong here, we'll have to keep it at bay with a gorgeous symphony of our magical unity." A loud laugh escaped the whimsical man then as the staff is risen before him. Water, Wind, and Fire broke into existence before the stave before uniting together. Bolts of rapidfire Arcane Magic would start rippling through the air to face off the tentacles.
  260.
  261. The Two Scions entered the fray.
  262. (Avarte Mol)
  263. It would seem things were going more than unwell. If only it could alligators. At least those were identifiably manageable. Moreover it seems the greatest aid to their transport had become preoccupied.
  264.
  265. And now he was being yelled at for assistance. How annoying. Well if there's one thing Endoth cannot do, it is feats of strength. So, no, he won't be rowing. But there had to be some method, some product of genius he could summon forward.
  266.
  267. At first it seems as though he's entirely ignoring Rothraim, his body almost toppling out of the vessel as he'd sit almost meditatively, meditatively with a scowl on his features, so not a particularly good meditation. Regardless, he was in search of a thought.
  268.
  269. The change on his expression, which itself has been half-soaked in the mucky waters of the swamp, indicates the conception of some sort of brain child. He had thought of a way to move the boat. But it wasn't going to be by any means conventional.
  270.
  271. ...
  272.
  273. Fire is a very potent form of energy. And in enough concentration it creates propulsion. As the library keeper of Providence, such strange nuggets of information come to him. And thus, he had his solution.
  274.
  275. His idea had come from Professor Aiden Morgan's 'The Rocket Theory.' Which details the idea that explosives of degree can produce the very effects that Endoth thought of. Of course all of this was IMMENSELY theoretical, the paper itself a misnomer among many contesting scholarly works.
  276.
  277. Nonetheless, he was going to put his experiment to the test, every one of them a guinea pig now.
  278.
  279. Clapping his hands together in prayer once more, he'd open them as a prism of pure blackness would expand further and further. An incantation of vile origin is declared as suddenly a jet of powerful flame expels from the crystalline structure, off the back of the boat, then even from Endoth's hands.
  280.
  281. Eidolons save, he's trying to make the boat into a 'rocket.'
  282. (Endoth Morvayn)
  283. (all of you /roll 20 please.
  284.
  285. Endoth Morvayn has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 8.
  286. Avarte Mol has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 2.
  287. Sindarin Signus has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 19.
  288. Rothraim Vykanos has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 5.
  289. The Four would man their stations and do their absolute best to get out of this hellhole.
  290.
  291. Sindarin and Avarte would have the best results here. Despite his inability to call forth his Bladesong, his Arcane magics would prove a massive aid. Every bolt shot would crash against the beast and delay its assault by precious seconds.
  292.
  293. While Sindarin's new upgrades would prove themselves to be absolutely vital. His orbs of Discord would fly about and easily batter back the thing. Preventing it fully and being able to reach the ship.
  294.
  295. The two drivers however...
  296.
  297. Would barely be able to move forward.
  298.
  299. Rothraim's magical prowess could only drive them so fast, often he'd find the waves dissipated by some other magical field! He wouldn't be able to get them too far.
  300.
  301. While on the other side, The Rocket Theory might prove itself to be more than just a theory as flames are expelled backwards and making up for where Rothraim's magic has failed.
  302.
  303. [Skill Check, passed]
  304.
  305. With their attention diverted they'd find themselves with a new problem on their hands.
  306.
  307. Being shipwrecked.
  308.
  309. The flames from Endoth would be a bit too extreme, and before they knew it they'd come crashing upon the island. The ship skidding across the land and stopping mere inches before the Hut.
  310.
  311. The people on the boat, however, would be forcibly ejected. Landing somewhere on this small island. Mostly unharmed.
  312.
  313. Sindarin would send his Orbs crashing down against the beast and with Avarte's help it was not able to reach their boat.
  314.
  315. Sindarin went in for another attack before he was sent flying to the floor of the boat as it launched forward. He tried his best to hold on but he was not able too. He could tell that a few of the others were already flung somewhere so he quickly threw himself off and crashed into the island sand. He slid and hit a few rocks before being halted by them. Blood trickled down his forehead and his leg from the crash landing.
  316.
  317. He made his way to the crashed boat to see it smashed to bits beside the hut, they would need some time to fix the damage if it was even fixable to be able to leave but he let his mind drift back to the mission at hand.
  318.
  319. "AVARTE! ROTHRAIM! ENDOTH!" Sindarin made his way around the island shouting their names so he could regroup with them and proceed with their plans. They could have faired much worse and ended up shipwrecked inside the swamp water but here they stood on the island.
  320. (Sindarin Signus)
  321. Endoth has an expression somewhere between confusion, delight, and fear, his countenance bathed in flecks of muck from their sudden ashore state. He was going to say something, bringing up a finger from his smoking palms, the prism fading into ethereal nothingness.
  322.
  323. But his first thought is absorbed, trying to find some cheeky thing to say or way to validate his actions. Eventually something would be brought from his lips. "Gentlemen, we have arrived..." And so they had, in one of the most unorthodox ways possible.
  324.
  325. He wanted out of this boat now, which was already sketchy, even more so given his recent abusive use of sorcery. Thus he sets down a work boot, then another, the sum of them more than used to their share of mud, which Endoth presumes they've wedged the vessel into. (And by we, I mean he.)
  326.
  327. Now on the island, there was but a single thing to do, and that was take in the sights, looking for the rumor of a place which they and their bloodhound noses did so ever track.
  328. (Endoth Morvayn)
  329. Sindarin would soon find the others upon hearing Endoth in the distance and made his way over to them.
  330.
  331.
  332. "Everyone okay?" He would ask while examining them all, they seemed fine and now it was time to move forward.
  333. (Sindarin Signus)
  334. Rothraim's attempts to make the ship go faster seemed to fail, when suddenly a burst of flames from Endoth caried the ship well passed their destination. "H-hey wait slow down we are going tooo fast!" CRASH
  335.
  336. Rothraim went flying out the ship, His body being flown across the swampy land about to smash into the ground however moments before. He quickly activated his magic yet again. Creating magical bubbles to break his fall leaving him mostly unharmed."You could've been a bit more gentle don't ya think?" He snapped but figured at the very least they made it to their goal.
  337.
  338. However the ship was in rather dire state now, Completely blown up by Endoth's sudden burst of flames. While Rothraim was irritated he couldn't argue it got them to safety. But without a ship he wondered how much further into the marsh they could make it.
  339.
  340. A sigh crossed his lips as he peered over towards Avarte and Sindarin to see how they were faring making sure they knew they could go all out now. "Guess we made it in one piece....although the ship seen better days. We'll figure it out let's keep moving forwards." he'd say cleaning off the dirt with the very same bubbles that broke his fall earlier.
  341.
  342. "Avarte, Sindarin you still alive?" He'd ask shouting out into the distance. If the monster still posed a threat he'd help Avarte and Sindarin out but if not he'd turn his attention to the hut.
  343. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  344. EXP Gain: [693*100%=693]
  345. Endoth does note. "Yes, I could have been more gentle. And we could have also been swamp food." Taking time to use a handkerchief he grifted off the kindness of strangers, he'd clean his face up at the very least, finishing his thought right after with "Be thankful we're not."
  346.
  347. Contemplating his way back, Endoth realizes with the many-armed cretins of the swamp, levitation wasn't a viable option.
  348. (Endoth Morvayn)
  349.
  350. The battle against the Kraken is short-lived but one of memory. Such an imposing creature had not even revealed itself but only tentacles. Monstrous appendages that sought to attack the boat were met with the powers of Avarte's Arcane Magic barrages and Sindorin's command of Discord orbs. Together, they would face the creature's appendages off in mass number. It only bought them mere moments, however.
  351.
  352. Avarte gasped several times while trying to regain his breath. Their boat had only barely moved at all and it left the man remiss. "Ohhh heck." He regards while looking back towards the tentacles again and preparing another spell. Just before he could, however, the ingenious thinking of Endoth comes into play.
  353.
  354. The boat is literally propelled ahead using fire magic. It forces Avarte to stumble and fall over inside of the boat. "Rocky trip." He says while holding onto the side of the boat tightly. "This is awesome!" The Faerla announced. Moments after, the boat was no longer able to sustain the power of the magic and all four of them are launched island-side.
  355.
  356. "Waah!" He called out loudly.
  357.
  358. "Oomph. Ah, tch. AGH!" He grunted as he rolled about on the island. There was some distance to cover, but over all the island appeared to be rather small from his grounded position. He brought himself to a painstakingly awful stand. "That was the most fun ever, we ne-" He stopped his words as he looked left, turned around, and then looked right. He was talking to himself apparently. "Where did everyone go?" The Faerla inquires as he starts to walk around the island.
  359.
  360. When he heard his name shouted, he followed in the direction. Not much time passed before he caught up with the group then. "There you all are! That's definitely one for the scorebooks. Haha, no one is dead either. This is good news." A quick regard with a smile as he looks around the area. "It seems our boat has died though It will be remembered as the boat of burning flight." A sagely nod is made then as he glances to each of the Voidsent Auriens.
  361.
  362. "You're right, Endoth. I'm not sure what that thing was, but it's best we don't run into it again so soon. It didn't fall from our magic, we only slowed it down." He brings up. "Where should we go now? We'll need a way out of here as well."
  363. (Avarte Mol)
  364.
  365. Your spirits might be high, but someone's certainly upset.
  366.
  367. Out from the Hut comes an elderly man, blindfolded with an odd hat on top of his head. He looks unkempt, yet despite all of it he sounds normal.
  368.
  369. He staggers on over to the party. You can't tell that there's fury in his eyes, but you can certainly hear it.
  370.
  371. Hermit says, "WHO are all of you???"
  372. Hermit says, "How'd you get here???"
  373. Avarte Mol says, "!!"
  374. Avarte Mol says, "There was a giant thing, and it tried to slap us up. Then our boat exploded!"
  375. Endoth is still busy cleaning himself off. His reply is as venomous as usual. "Your mother. I came to scold you for not replying to my COOF! letters..."
  376.
  377. Muck cleaned, he'd check to make sure none of his supplies are damaged, which takes time as he has so many pouches, pockets, and so forth. Remember the time he was a pack rat with a potato sack on his back? He's evolved for the worse ever since he got coin.
  378.
  379. Either way, still too distracted to size this stranger up. His words to the stranger were practically autonomous.
  380. (Endoth Morvayn)
  381. Sindarin turned to see an old hermit making his way to them. He readied his staff being suprised by the mans presence in the secluded area they found themselves.
  382.
  383. After examining the man he didnt think him to be much of a threat so he lowered his staff.
  384.
  385. "We are the Syllthas clan, you stand before its three Scions. Sindarin, Avarte, and Rothraim."
  386.
  387. He then looked over to Endoth..
  388.
  389. "And then there is Endoth the Alchemist."
  390.
  391. He turned his attention back to the Hermit seeing how he would respond to them intruding on his island and almost crashing into his hut.
  392. (Sindarin Signus)
  393. Rothraim's eyes would roll although it was true they were alive, their boat was not, Giving it a quick send off he'd notice someone coming from behind, an elderly man who seemed lviid with them.
  394.
  395. As Sindarin took the time to introduce them he'd respond in kind. "We took a boat form the docks, barely made it here though. The hell is wrong with this place, its as if nature itself is trying to kill us from getting any further..." He looked around to see if he'd notice anyone else with the old man then started towards them.
  396.
  397. "That being said, how the hell are you alive out here on your own old timer? Someone taking care of you or something?" He'd say with an eyebrow raised. Clearly no one normal would choose to live in a place like this. Rothraim had begun to get rather suspicious.
  398.
  399. Now taking out his tome to better control his magics, keeping it at his side for now but at the ready when necessary.

  402. Endoth does a bouncing of his scowling brows at the stranger, now free to stare them down. He seems to do this as Sindarin announces his name. "Among other titles." There were a great many of them now.
  403. (Endoth Morvayn)
  404.
  405. Avarte looked between his peers as they eagerly introduced themselves to the strange figure. He shrugged his shoulders and figured he might as well do the same. The Faerla places the staff onto his back alongside the sword then and nods his hed.
  406.
  407. "Right, I'm Avarte Mol, or Whisper in some parts." He waves off his introduction and then points a finger at the Hermit briefly. "Who are you though, do you know what thing was that attacked us?"
  408. (Avarte Mol)
  409. "Syllthas clan? Never heard of you. But you're all new to Sarea anyways! I've been here for a decade, must be."
  410.
  411. The old cantankerous man continues on, pacing about the mud beneath while always keeping at least one eye on the group.
  412.
  413. "There's nothing wrong with this place! It's the Quiet Marsh, it wants to keep it quiet.
  414.
  415. There's much here to see! Much to explore. I've seen plenty, and after I saw /it/. Well it couldn't wait any longer.
  416.
  417. It became real and decided to prevent any more newcomers from finding out this places secrets!"
  418.
  419. He hoots and hollers.
  420.
  421. "The thing was IT the Guardian of Knowledge."
  422. (Hermit)
  423. Idly, Endoth is contemplating putting this thing of liver spots and wrinkles where it belongs, the grave. He wasn't a fan of his name being exposed while among this party. Though there was the fact that it was very unlikely that this senile fool was going to be spreading any rumors, a chance reduced to zero if the sorcerer does what his gut commands.
  424.
  425. Regardless, it wasn't to be done now anyway. "Wow, an amazing name. 'It.' Come up with that all by KEH! yourself?" This was both an insult and a prod to get a description of the thing.
  426. (Endoth Morvayn)
  427. Sindarin took interest to his words when he mentioned how this place holds many secrets, jackpot. He wanted to uncover whatever he could to add to his knowledge and become the being many feared him of becoming. He said nothing at first but listened instead to the hermits words. He would look around for anything out of the ordinary, he needed to search the island for all he could when the moment presented itself.
  428.
  429.
  430. "Oh? Secrets you say? I see, so that beast protects the hidden knowledge and secrets stored within this place? I see. Very interesting. I can only wonder what knowledge this place holds, It seems landing here was more then just a chance. So you say there is much to see here? Can you show us what you mean perhaps?"
  431. (Sindarin Signus)
  432. Rothraim's eyes would narrow and his lips perched into a wicked grin when he heard the title of the creature that attacked them his motives being clear as day if all but for a moment.
  433.
  434. "Guardian of Knowledge, My my isn't that quite telling, The fact that its a guardian means there's actually something worth finding here." He said to his clan members the other scions would surely catch on to what he was implying.
  435.
  436. "What exactly is this thing you're speaking of? Where did you see it?" he questioned Rothraim's curiosity and thirst for knowledge getting the better of him, after all waving a bone in front of a hangry animal was bound to get some response.
  437.
  438. "We'll keep you're swamp quiet after we've gotten what we've came for. Until then we'll probably be making a lot more noise." He said just in case the old man thought about keeping information from them. Rothraim clearly adamant about finding whatever th is creature was and wondering if it had any connection to the void.
  439.
  440. "This could be it Sin, We're not stopping here."
  441. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  442. EXP Gain: [516*100%=516]
  443. Sindarin Signus says, "Seems to be we are already stopped here Rothraim."
  444. Sindarin Signus says, "Oh!"
  445. Avarte watched as the Hermit of a man paced back in forth into the mud and then explained the circumstance and situation to him. Apparently he had been here for ten years, it made Avarte somewhat curious of all the things he had seen and heard of then.
  446.
  447. A brief inquiry is made by the Faerla then. "The Guardian of Knowledge.... Since we have passed it then, it means we are privy to the knowledge hidden away?" He brought up towards the Hermit. A brief thought entered into the mind of Avarte then. Such an island held many mysterious treasures and secrets.
  448.
  449. "Would I learn of this Paschia Fel here? Have you ever heard of them?" He brings up. It was a brief mention of the name when he was made privy to a certain stone. Nonetheless, he would move from his question then. It was something he deeply wanted answered for what he learned within the Spell Tome, but he also knew other matters were more present now.
  450.
  451. He looked over to Rothraim hearing what he had to say. The Faerla turned back to the Hermit then. "So it's name is IT. That's a really cool name. It seems to be unfathomably powerful. I'm glad it's our friend that did not eat us with all that power." He chuckles a little bit being playful as his whimsical nature brought on.
  452.
  453. "Oh, right, quiet." He lowers his voice into whispers then. It would be bad to upset the Marsh and call It upon them again.
  454. (Avarte Mol)
  455. Endoth Morvayn says, "I wonder how it would fair against a particular tentacled creature..."
  456. Avarte Mol says, "No, no."
  457. Avarte Mol says, "We should not fight IT."
  458. Avarte Mol says, "It has let us pass, we should use this."
  459. Endoth Morvayn says, "I proposed no such thing."
  460. The Old Man would stare at Endoth and give a blunt reply,
  461.
  462. "No! That's what it calls itself. It's not my idea at all. I swear to you."
  463.
  464. While the old man waited for the other three to finish talking, Avarte would say something that'd change things. A bit.
  465.
  466. "HOW! How did you know that name? That's not it, that's not right at all! It's something else. Somethin-"
  467.
  468. Is the last word he could say before it arrived. Massive tentacles bursting forth from under the Hermit and gripping him, pulling him down into the swamp below. There'd be no change for him to even scream before
  469.
  470. The Guardian made itself known.
  471.
  472. A Mossy creature covered in mushrooms, sores, and driftwood emerges. Two legs, two massive hands, and a mane of tentacles. It digs itself up and stares the four down.
  473.
  474. It makes not a word, but it prepares itself.
  475.
  476. Avarte Mol says, "A-Oo-We are friends aren't we?"
  477. The sorcerer keeps his hands together, a praying gesture, ready to tap into his foul magics should it be needed. "I'm fifty or sixty percent sure THAT'S what attacked us... Guardian of Knowledge with a KEH! name like IT? Thought it would look like Locus or DI or something..." This looks closer to that thing that had been living in Endoth's castle which he had excised.
  478.
  479. However, he was dubious on the strength of these compatriots. The mercenaries he used last were hand-picked for their abilities. This lot? Well, they all shared a hunger for Void magic, if little else. That, and pointed ears.
  480.
  481. There is a lot more to say and think on, but for now, Endoth decides to see how the rest of them respond to this Eldritch terror.
  482. (Endoth Morvayn)
  483. Sindarin watched as the tentacled beast pulled the hermit to his end, it was unexpected and he quickly jumped back while preparing to assault the massive creature. He had wondered how the hermit had made it this long seeing as this thing could be in both water and land. It was odd and it seemed their presence marked the end of that mans life, he did not feel bad however.
  484.
  485. "Seems its back for more, good I was hoping for some excitement while on this trip and I am not disappointed."
  486.
  487. Sindarin let an evil grin form over his face and his blood began to warm with excitement, his lust for battle and blood had only grown in the last few months. He wanted to be pushed past him limits to reach a new level of power to crush anyone who would stand against him or try to destroy him and undo his work. He would throw himself into enemies despite the gap in power and wanted to be challanged and beaten until he was reforged.
  488.
  489. "You should have stayed in your swamp, there is a monster here and it is not you."
  490.
  491. The Aurien was getting cocky and took a few steps forward ready to strike the Tentacled Guardian with everything he had in his Arsenal of Skills.
  492. (Sindarin Signus)
  493. Rothraim's questions mostly go unanswered as the hermit was completely silenced in front of them before he could utter a useful word. Rothraim didn't have much time to grieve as he noticed the very guardian itself come forth from underneath the swamp.
  494.
  495. Covered in mushrooms and tentacles it was a monstrosity unlike anything before. Far more gruesome than the usual creatures of Sarea this thing was far more twisted than usual Rothraim quickly placing a hand upon his Tome, yet he kept his caution he spoke instead of throwing a spell forth.
  496.
  497. "Great Guardian of Knowledge. I have heard you call yourself IT..." Rothraim would claim as he took a step forwards, towards the creature. Although there was some fear, the crazed rush Rothraim had when it came to knew discoveries beginning to manifest.
  498.
  499. "There are a great many things I wish to know, May we the Scions of Syllthas be given a chance to earn your favor, and receive the hidden knowledge you hold here secretly. As you can guess, we are those who walk with the void. And we wish to bring about the Endless. The father of Voidsent." It was unsure if the Guardian was aware of what Rothraim was speaking or not but it seemed they were simply a madman.
  500.
  501. "In order to accomplish our goals we require power, the forbidden power left behind by many we seek to become necromancers. Tell me...just how can we accomplish this." Rothraim would claim taking another step closer.
  502.
  503. "Calm down Sin! We don't know its intentions yet..." he'd bark as he'd move closer to the beast, his sanity slipping from him at the thought of learning even just a fragment of what the possibilities could be.
  504. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  505. EXP Gain: [773*100%=773]
  506. Sindarin looked back to Rothraim lowering his staff at the same time, he listened to what he spoke to the Guardian. Sindarin remembered Ula doing the same thing to the beasts of Caldera and it was odd that a beast that would try to destroy them on sight would even register his words but he would back off and let Rothraim approach his way.
  507.
  508. He would be ready should the Guardian deny them but he supposed it was worth the effort if Rothraim felt it would actually work. Sindarin was one who earned favor through combat over words usually but he seen it work before on Caldera and wouldn't be surprised if it did again.
  509.
  510. "Very well, if it gives you time for words than so be it."
  511. (Sindarin Signus)
  512. Avarte raised an eyebrow when the Hermit did not take well to the name he spoke. There was a low huff that exuded from the Faeborn then. While listening to the words they would be suddenly cut off as the ground itself ruptured. It seemed that the island was in no way simply permitted to anyone, even the Hermit himself.
  513.
  514. There wasn't even an immediate reaction from the Faeborn except, "That was cool." A soft laugh left his form. Life and Death weren't the most imperative things to him. From Life came Death, and from Death came the sustenance for Life. It just made sense to him considering what he had learned amongst the wilds in his time.
  515.
  516. Avarte's gaze raises then as the Guardian slowly presents itself. His fuschia-hued eyes appearing almost demonic while staring at the enormous creature. He even attempted his friendly routine first with the creature but upon seeing it prepare its own magic, he took a deep inhale. "You are an old creature of the Wilds, I don't want to hurt you, but I will play with you if you tell us all one secret." He regards towards the creature.
  517.
  518. His hand motioned towards his back then and the blade was grasped as opposed to the stave this time. A hand is waved over the blade as Avarte quietly chants incantations towards it. Sorcerous magic surrounded the blade imbed with Arcane Energies. He even took a specific posture then. Arcane power flowed around the blade then and a soft singing could be heard in the area. It was in an unknown language though.
  519.
  520. As the blade sang, incantations were unleashed at the will of the blade rather than Avarte. The incomplete Bladesong had been brought on. "You face the might of Clan Syllthas today." He proclaims to the Guardian. "Add us into your banks of Knowledge, IT."
  521. (Avarte Mol)
  522. For one reason or another, something about the design of this thing doesn't beget the idea of conversation. After all, it was called the 'Guardian of Knowledge' not the 'Deliverer of Knowledge.' Though perhaps the secrets are hidden within it, like an animated chest. Wouldn't that be something?
  523.
  524. He'd cut his speculations short. "Right. Right, you all negotiate. I'll..." This island, Endoth presumes does not meet all the needs to reasonably live here. It's unlikely the old hermit had the skill to make rice paddies. No, he would likely need to leave now and again.
  525.
  526. Endoth distracts a few glances to the hut, trying to spy any sort of boat. If not there, he finds it likely they may find once by the shoreline.
  527. (Endoth Morvayn)
  528. Endoth Morvayn has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 6.
  529. The Creature halts and allows the Clan to speak. Apparently taking in every word as it hasn't made any movements forward.
  530.
  531. It simply waits and stares at Rothraim, occasionally sending out an eyestalk to look at the other three.
  532.
  533. Does it speak? No. But it considers. A tendril slithers on inside of the hut and grabs hold of what seems to be a book. The tendril moves in front of Rothraim.
  534.
  535. There's nothing inscribed on the outside, the only feature it has is its purple binding and cover.
  536.
  537. Endoth spots one rice patty, sitting upon a wooden table inside the hut.
  538.
  539. Avarte Mol says, "Phew. Okay, we're friend."
  540. Endoth Morvayn says, "Cursedly skilled and very dead old man..."
  541. The Physician has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 3.
  542. Vitus Amata has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 3.
  543. Grathamel Mispra has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 1.
  544. Serroth has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 2.
  545. Guardian of Knowledge has rolled a 69-sided die. It came up as 66.
  546. Dirt has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 20.
  547. Simone has rolled a 20-sided die. It came up as 11.
  548. Regardless, Endoth realizes the old man was self-sufficient. Though if this thing is disposed of, or otherwise turns nice and friendly, he'll have no trouble levitating away.
  549.
  550. While busy about that, he'd notice that indeed this thing of horrors was delivering a book. Which does mean it is indeed a 'Deliverer of Knowledge.'
  551.
  552. Being much the poor negotiator, he'd wait for this to fall apart or otherwise turn violent. It was a common concern. Perhaps if that book isn't all too informative, he'll ask questions of his own.
  553.
  554. But not for now. The grave digger is content scheming on the side, serving as some potent back-up muscle if push comes to shove, which right now, doesn't seem to be the case.
  555. (Endoth Morvayn)
  556. Sindarin watched as a tome was presented from the beast, he wondered if there was more then just the tome. He had fought so many to reach this point and to obtain anything and he would wonder if there was even more secrets but he was fixated on the Guardian and Rothraim to see what would happen next.
  557.
  558. He placed his staff in its leather straps he had attached to his wolfram to show he no longer had the intention to attack. He had assumed the moment the hermit went down they were instantly in a battle but it seemed he was wrong and perhaps he should be more passive as it seemed others were, it seemed to benefit them more as odd as it was.
  559. (Sindarin Signus)
  560. The creature did not speak yet its actions seem to have lead it the hut, the very same one the hermit from earlier resided in at least Rothraim had assumed as much.
  561.
  562. As the tendril reached into the hut and slithered back with the book within its grasp Rothraim would take good care to inspect it, the cover seemed to have a purple binding and cover,
  563.
  564. Although Rothraim still was still skeptical if the creature knew exactly what he spoke of. He moved closer placing a hands flat to receive the book if possible and open its pages to study it.
  565.
  566. "Interesting you mean this is the secrete knowledge you've hoarded for years?" He wondered almost unsure if it was truly this easy to obtain. Of course he wouldn't be one to question his own destiny. Regardless of how he'd come across it he'd use it to his benefit.
  567.
  568. "And how will i repay you guardian, If this is truly a Grimoire of Necromancy I doubt you'll be handing it over for free.."
  569. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  570. EXP Gain: [469*100%=469]
  571. You feel a neutral force 'scan' you, as if observing your mana levels for the briefest of moments. It departs as quickly as it came, leaving no trace or ill feelings.
  572.
  573. (Intentionally global)
  574.
  575. Endoth Morvayn says, "I feel the prying hand of the government REACHING into my soul..."
  576. Sindarin would feel an odd sensation as the Guardian would scan his energy or aura, he was unsure but he knew something had happened.
  577.
  578. Sindarin remained still and kept his eyes on the scene wondering if it would attack at any moment or continue to be passive with them.
  579. (Sindarin Signus)
  580. When the eldritch beast did not offer any further actions towards them offensively, Avarte chooses to keep his mana intact and ends the incantation of the Bladesong. A hefty sigh escapes him. It took a lot to maintain the incomplete magical ability. His fuschia eyes returned onto the creature then as he shoulders the blade and watches the book be delivered to Rothraim.
  581.
  582. Hearing Rothrains statement towards Necromancy, Avarte turned deaf. Just as always, the Faerla still owed a debt and so took nothing of the Necromancy to his heart. It was the desire of his fellow Scion, and of their god. He would not impose an obstruction towards theri goal.
  583.
  584. It was then that Avarte spoke of his own regards. "I am glad you have no fought us, It." His words are still somewhat in a whisper due to the nature of the Marsh. It was fun for Avarte to follow the rules of this place, at least for a time. "What do you know of Paschia Fel?" He inquired to the creature then. "I have only a name for her. It even seems impossible for me to find anything el-" His words stop then as something invades his magical proximity.
  585.
  586. Something had traced the lines of tattoos and scanned his mana levels. The Faerla turned about and looked around. He then turned back to the creature, "Was that you?" The brief question is asked before he shook his head. "No, nevermind, I don't care about that. Is there anything you know that could help me learn more?"
  587. (Avarte Mol)
  588. Endoth Morvayn says, "Or it could be this thing. I'll keep my theories."
  589. Was this a grimoire of necromancy?
  590.
  591. The tome would be shaken to the left and right, an attempt to mimic what the mortals do. Presumably.
  592.
  593. Yet it's attention is turned towards Avarte when that name is uttered.
  594.
  595. "Nnnnoooo."
  596.
  597. Its silence is broken for the first time.
  598.
  599. Right after whatever... that was happened. The scanning, it was unfamiliar. The Guardian itself looks confused. Regardless it had more to say.
  600.
  601. "But here is what you seek. Knowledge.
  602.
  603. Prove to me that you're worthy."
  604.
  605. It grew silent once more.
  606.
  607. Its tentacles strike out, preparing to impale anything close by.
  608.
  609. [3 rounds low risk]
  610. (Guardian of Knowledge)
  611. Oh good, it would seem that instead of talking, they were going to be doing something a little more entertaining. At this point Endoth is really starting to get some flashbacks to events not long ago. Though in that circumstance the creepy old man turned into the giant tentacled monster.
  612.
  613. Moments ago Endoth was squatted down, almost relaxed. Now he has risen up once more, his hands in prayer. Incantations come from his mouth as astral forces would send him levitating, carrying him a distance away, acting as his legs so he is free to concentrate on his sorcery.
  614.
  615. He only breaks that concentration briefly to declare. "I thought we did this song and dance on COOF! on the boat! Does this really call for an Act 2?!" The tired soul that he is doesn't sound so much afraid more so the former element, dreary and exhausted.
  616.
  617. Far more lively is his magic, Sorceries of horrific proportion cascading off his body while he remains essentially statuesque, only moving via levitation, his posture and gesture fixed.
  618. (Endoth Morvayn)
  619. After all the conflict Sindarin had endured over the last two years in the pursuit of necromancy he was indeed alot strong because of it and now it was his time to show all of that effort and progression to the Guardian.
  620.
  621. He would take his staff out once more and was glad this was how it chose to challenge them, he had been training endlessly to bring their mission into reality despite his clan not trusting him through it all. He knew full well what he was doing and that was why he survived through it all and he used each of those moments to add to himself for this very moment.
  622.
  623. Once again Orbs of Discord could begin to manifest around Sindarin and soon after a black prism of negative mana would form above them all to mimic his attacks against the guardian. He would not hold back in the slightest, it wanted to see his resolve and he would not disappoint.
  624.
  625. "Very well." Was all Sindarin said as he accepted the challange. He locked his purple glowing eyes onto his target and awaited the moment to show it the full force of his power and drive to reach his goals and become what the land had already credited him to being.
  626. (Sindarin Signus)
  627. The name that was feared had been said again.
  628.
  629. Avarte's gaze moved to the book when it was shaken before Rothraim, almost as if trying to bait him. The Faeborn knew this game well, he played the very same game with numerous other magi. It brought a brief smile to his face until he heard the response.
  630.
  631. An elongated no.
  632.
  633. The Faerla lingered on that statement for a while as the creature had finally broken from its silence. It did not seem like an answer of the creature not knowing, but rather... It's refusal to inform him further of her. The blade that had been put away is brought out once the creature makes its statement known.
  634.
  635. A low inhale is taken through his nostrils. He had already activated the Bladesong once. Doing so again in such a short time was certainly going to have ill-effects on him. A grimace left Avarte at this face. The staff is taken from his back instead in the hopes that their united efforts would be enough without the experimental magic.
  636.
  637. Tentacles tore through the ground aiming to pierce them all like it had done the Hermit before. Avarte phased from reality as the tendril stabbed through the ground where he once was. The Faeborn creature would then appear on the opposite side of the Guardian with his tattoos glowing brightly with intense levels of magical energy.
  638.
  639. "I love playing, but I hope you're going to tell me. Even the Hermit knew something, so there's something you aren't telling me. I plan to find out what that is, IT!" He proclaimed proudly and loudly towards the creature while raising the stave high into the air.
  640.
  641. The various elements of Rhyst came to life. Wind, Fire, and Water all obeyed his command and began to converge on his location. Avarte started to weave them together then. "Let's play now." He announces back in a whisper again then. His whimsical nature ever present, it was always at his whim; everything was.
  642. (Avarte Mol)
  643. Rothraim was beginning to get annoyed as the book was shaken in front of his face, Like a piece of candy, he'd already been starved and bored from the constant politics of the island this finally. was the first step to the goal he'd presumed to say he was hyperfocused on his task was no misrepresentation.
  644.
  645. As he shuddered as he hears the creature's voice for the first time, in response to Avarte's question. Just who was this person he continued to bring up? Was she somehow connected to their goal? However yet it seemed the Guardian knew nothing of her.
  646.
  647. His attention was taken back as he felt a magical scan across his body as if his magic was being examined, The feeling only irritated him more but as he returned his gaze to the to the beast they seemed just as confused. He put it aside in his mind, and focused on their words.
  648.
  649. Each syllable like nails grating against each other, their words reached his mind, and prepared he was, as the tentacles emerged Rothraim would activate his mana armor, sending forth a wave of water to serve as extra barricade against the penetrating tentacles. "I am more than worthy....every since that day...My life has been saturated with bloodshed and death, everytime I grasp onto something It dies...."
  650.
  651. He'd summon forth an uneasy amount of mana, the forces of which began to distort the mana within the area almost as if he was manifesting his thirst for mana into reality creating a negative force.
  652.
  653. Tendrils of Black water surged as it mixed with ichor of his sorcery. "Give me what I want. And in return I'll let you live..." He said his smile now a devlish one. As The battle ensued.

  699.
  700. Sindarin gets the final hit. You could kill the Guardian if you want, mind you.]
  701.
  702. The Guardian was more than capable of ripping through the marsh. Tentacles slithering around and acting as a sort of trap - whenever someone got close? They'd get thwacked.
  703.
  704. Verdant green and abyssal black energies combine and cause the Marshlands to rise and slow down each of the fighters. Tentacles swerving around and grasping at their heels. Holding them down for blasts of Sorcery to rip through whatever defenses they might have.
  705.
  706. Most notably Sindarin and Rothraim would be the victims of its assault. Their visions blur as the tentacles fully catch onto them, squeezing the life out of both and injected something into their bodies.
  707.
  708. They'd begin to lose it, Avarte and Endoth were fine.
  709.
  710. How would Sindarin get them out of this situation? And how far would he go?

  713. An admin is applying a minor injury to you.
  714. In a whirl of whimsy and horror Endoth Morvayn once more proves he is not an idle grave digger, but a master of sorcery. Not once does he even approach being nearly defeated, forced to use ever ounce of his power, sure, but injured? No.
  715.
  716. With him he possessed the power of an enchanted ring which drank from the pain of his enemies, repairing his own wounds. Couple this with his own mantling of blood magic and he finds himself few times genuinely hurt.
  717.
  718. The entire fight the levitating sorcerer is moved by the dark forces around the arena away from his opponent, like an autonomous response, as if the latent Void magics he used were protecting him, moving him at intense speeds in a circuit around the island itself. Meanwhile from the praying man descends his rain of chaotic magic.
  719.
  720. As things are winding down, Endoth commands his twisted sorcery to slow, if only to bawk. "Fool you are to underestimate ENDOTH MORVAYN!"
  721.
  722. His allies were getting shredded, aside from Avarte, as he was making these bold claims.

  724. Endoth Morvayn says, "I miss my hype men..."
  725. Your injury has been applied. Right-click the injury debuff to see the name & description.
  726. The battle that ensued was incredible, The magi gathered each spun spells of Sorcery combining their efforts together in order to defeat the foe that was the gaurdian of Knowledge.
  727.
  728. Rothraim's part was to aim to keep his party as healed as possible, Using water spells to spray them with healing an rejuvinating effects as best he could.
  729.
  730. However the Scion continued his attacks as well, sending sleets of iccles that would aim to impale the creature, and using a rune mark to increase the fighting power of his allies giving them short bursts of magical power. "Don't think i'll let you off the hook easy guardian. I desire this knowledge more than anything but what i truly desire..." He'd spin negative magic into orbs.
  731.
  732. The Orbs of discord channled his hatred and anger into them. Gathering within the spheres until they changed shape into skulls that blazed with unnatural purple flames. "I won't to destroy everyone and everything who ever took something form me, Sarea will be just the first of many!" He claimed but then suddenly a tentecle breached the earth ensaring him like it did the hermit.
  733.
  734. Rothraim didn't have the physical strength to break out of the bind, AS suddenly he's injected with something his body grows limp as he feels an illness over come him.
  735.
  736. "NOOOO!" He screams as he's thrown to the ground his energy still gathering he'd look over towards Sindarn the flaming discord orb skulls were then tossed his way. Rothraim knew Sindarin would keep their dream alive.
  737.
  738. and in this very moment he trusted them to give the final blow. "DO IT SIN, THIS IS FOR OUR FUTURE SO WE CAN TAKE BACK WHAT WE LOST!" He roars as his body again reaches its limit and falls to the ground, somehting over taking him, but his trust in Sindarin was far more overwhelming than the pain he felt.
  739.
  740. They needed this. to begin their journey down the path of the Void, and to awaken the Endless.
  741. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  742. EXP Gain: [824*100%=824]
  743. The battle would prove to be fierce as the Guardian unleashed numerous powerful and old magics unique to the Island of Sarea. It caused chaos and frenzy onto the battlefield with its many massively large spells. Avatre found himself pressured deeply even with the aid of all the magi fighting alongside one another.
  744.
  745. In the midst of the battle, there would come opportunity. It allows a momentary time for Sindarin to strike true against the creature and seize them victory. Avarte skid back at that moment and placed his staff into the ground while taking a brief time to catch his breath. It was no easy matter fighting with the creature.
  746.
  747. "Force it down, Sindarin. We've won the game! Now it must be our friend, for we proved ourselves to it." He laughed to himself in a giddy tone. It would perhaps be the first piece of concrete anything he could learn about Pascia Fel aside for a mere name. Of course, the future wasn't written yet and how Sindarin would handle things was still to be seen.
  748.
  749. Avarte found himself pleased as the strength of the clan. Even without invoking the Bladesong they were able to stave back IT's assaults without death or severe bodily harm. While Sindarin and Rothraim were injured, both of them were still quite alive.
  750. (Avarte Mol)
  751. Sindarin rushed in wielding Sorcery and the power of Discord as if it was apart of his very fabric, he had used it for so long in the most impossible of situations and its unbelievable destructive power when the Orbs exploded was something that saved Sindarin more times then he could count he and would be sure to make sure the guardian got his full taste of Sin's Negative energy.
  752.
  753. The Guardian did well to fight against them all and it began to unleash a series of beams just as the Voidcrawlers did. The beam stuck Sindarin in his chest and melted his white wolfram slightly into his skin. The pain only made his senses more keen as he focused more intently on delivering ever spell with maximum impact.
  754.
  755. Orbs flew around as did a storm of mana as Sindarin slip through reality to cause all this mana to erupt at one time in the Guardian face but all it did was push it back.
  756.
  757. Sindarin would lung forward to trap the tentacled being in a bubble prison but he was countered and wrapped up in the tentacles as was Rothraim. He felt some kind of poison coursing through him and causing him to pass out.
  758.
  759. At this moment he looked over and seen Rothraim in the same situation.
  760.
  761. He could not let them fall here, he would not let them fall here. Ever since day one he had been pushing himself to make the impossible possible as he established their base of operation and expanded their numbers. Sure his choices led to them being wanted but it also let the land know their clan was not a normal one that would go unnoticed.
  762.
  763. With each loss he would get stronger and instead of his flame dying out as so many others who were faced with defeat, his only grew stronger with each loss and it would led up to him fulfilling his purpose and he would do just that.
  764.
  765. He had a contract on him that would prove hard to break but the restrictions against him were minor and he learned to work around it to some extent.
  766.
  767. As the life drained from him and his sight was fading he would see a flashing of all the events that led him to this moment and his senses would suddenly spike as mana began to erupt from the core of his being powered by pure determination and spiritual drive.
  768.
  769. The power of Discord was not one to be underestimated and it could be quite destructive to anything around the user and this was the energy Sindarin fumed with and its destructive power was at max. The Auriens eyes began to ignite and glow with the same mana, purple in color as he let out a loud roar..
  770.
  771.
  772. "I WONT LET YOU!!!" he shouted as his body began to grow brighter and brighter until he would explode destroying the tentacles that held them. The beast would not be killed but injured due to the lose of a few tentacles and it could sink back into the Marsh should it choose to flee and recover.
  773.
  774. Sindarin fell to his feet and instantly began to search the ground for the tome the guardian presented before their trial occurred.
  775. (Sindarin Signus)
  776. Each would play their part in the battle, but none would contribute as much as Sindarin. Despite being within the grasps of the Guardian of Knowledge, and succumbing to the Marsh Plague, he had a few tricks left in him.
  777.
  778. The Power of Discord.
  779.
  780. Fuming sorcerous energies are cast out by the Aurien, a fierce purple blaze crawling outwards at first and then bursting through reality. Burning through everything around him! A final explosion of his refined powers radiates out and catches the Guardian within.
  781.
  782. Rothraim would fall to the ground, Sindarin would as well. Yet both of them are free from the monster's grips.
  783.
  784. It was only Incapacitated, and as such it'd waste no time. Quickly digging its way back into the Marsh's grounds and running while the rest were stunned or preoccupied.

  801. The battle was over, And yet Rothraim was inflicted with a plague he felt such an overwhelming sense of joy, tears streamed down his face, For the very first time they had taken something for themselves.
  802.
  803. No longer did he feel like a loser crushed before his prime, They accomplished something, And it reinvigorated the Voidsent Scion to remember why he took up this path regardless of the risks. "I remember now Sin....I let my hatred for my enemies cloud my judgement and I focused on the wrong things. I let myself get blinded by my anxieties." He said placing a hand on his brothers shoulder.
  804.
  805. He'd be coughing up a storm due to the disease but he'd try to withstand it. "We did it Sin, this is our first step." He'd pick up the book dusting it off from the muck it had sat in. Although ominously enough it wasn't dirty at all.
  806.
  807. "This book looks ancient, how the hell did the creature keep it preserved in this damp environment...anyways we should return back home. We're done here." He'd say, his body wounded and exhausted, but for once he felt they had won something.
  808.
  809. Fought tooth and nail to accomplish it. He looked over towards Avarte and Endoth to see how they were fairing waving the book towards them although he knew Avarte wasn't that interested. "Lets wait till we get back to base to read it, for now let store it somewhere safe." He'd tear off a piece of his cloak and wrap the book up tight, making sure it was sealed, Even drawing a rune atop it to make sure his mana created a shell around the surface of it. One only a Scion could open.
  810.
  811. Along the way Rothraim would come across a plant, a rare one he'd been searching for. One that had the powers of the void, "Incredible...so it was here, the plant i'd been looking for...with this i can create the void potion I'd been craving for years..." his mouth watered as he eagerly took hold of the plant placing it within his satchel.
  812. (Rothraim Vykanos)
  813. EXP Gain: [826*100%=826]
  814. You have leveled up!
  815. You are now level 53.
  816. Void Petal, Epic Quality
  817. Void Petals are almost unheard-of. When placed into a brew, they can supernaturally order the other ingredients, allowing for otherwise impossible concoctions.
  818. Sindarin makes his way to the Tome and examines it taking in all of its detail. When he opened it up he would notice a figure with horns and a crown. He would begin to flip through it too see one of the three leaves and it angered crowned one. There stood soldiers who marched into eternity and finally on the last page is a rune, one tied to weaving and it seemed to be a teleportation rune of some kind. He would indeed need to spend some time into studying it in the safety of their locked base until the village was established.
  819.
  820. After taking mental notes and memorizing each page as much as he could for the time being he would close the book up and hand it to Rothraim to hold as he was sure he would need to study it as well.
  821.
  822. Sin took the time to brush himself off and examine the scene as Rothraim sealed the book up. He seen a lily land infront of him and a Void petal infront of Rothraim, he sighed. He found himself gaining no luck in finding anything rare as of late even when fighting beasts and guardian such like on Caldera.
  823.
  824. "Yes we did it Rothraim but now we need to find a way to make it back considering the boat is destroyed."
  825.
  826. He looked over to the hut where their broken boat stood and sighed at the wood work they would need to do just to make it back but it was worth the progress they made.
  827. (Sindarin Signus)
  828. Avarte made his way over towards the other two Scions as the Guardian rushes off in a retreat. "Our friend ran off." He brings up while turning his attention towards the nearby Flora that had been left behind from their intense battle. He would step over and collect the bundle of Starglow. Something about that plant reminded him of his Atere's need for it.
  829.
  830. "Oh hey, it's that Starglow." Avarte says to himself rather pleased despite the slight exhaustion from their two battles. He places the stave onto his back once more and then looks between the two of them while following the trail that the Guardian had taken with his eyes.
  831.
  832. "It didn't answer my questions." He regards with a little hint of aggravation in his tone. A brief kick to the soil is made followed by the feintest of sighs. "Yeah, we should read it later, I guess. We do need a direction to take in this place now. There are supposedly many secrets here. I want to find more of them, not just the book." Avarte brings up. A quick glance is paid to the book and then he turns his attention towards the rest of the unknown island.
  833.
  834. A low exhale was released. "It used the ground, so I don't really know how to follow that. We'll need to search around and see what we find." Avarte brings up while deciding to march straight forward. It was the only option he saw fit. At least unless someone offered him an alternative.
  835. (Avarte Mol)
  836. With the book in hand, Sindarin would know the way forward.
  837.
  838. The way to every secret you could ever want - perhaps.
  839.
  840. But that'd be for another time. There was a Rune Slate to decipher.
  841.
  842. [event over]
