  1. [21:57:10] <@castfromhp> The pair of you set out west toward Stolichnaya lake, a pair of Glaceon ears dutifully following behind. As you travel, you find more of the bits of debris, and if you bother to dig out any of them, you find the same odd trails, with various objects smashed deep into the ground.

  3. [21:58:34] <@castfromhp> It doesn't take long until you get the lake, despite the roaring blizzard. The first thing you notice is a small igloo, now mostly covered in snow, at the lakeside.

  11. [22:01:00] <@castfromhp> Both of you immediately also notice three other things...weird about the scene. Off on the other side of the lake is assembled a pattern of snow boulders, all lined up in a row. A large patch of ice on the frozen-over lake looks remarkably thin, and you can see the edge where it probably was broken and then froze again. On the other side of the river, you see a similar patch.
  12. [22:01:18] <@castfromhp> There were clearly two LARGE holes in the lake before this - each of them spanning several times your height in length.
  13. [22:01:37] <@castfromhp> Finally, a patch of grass nearby seems totally devoid of snow, small wisps of steam rising from holes poked in the ground.
  14. [22:02:51] * Svetlana scratches her head, probably also scratching sentret hat a bit. "Hmm... I see... A connundrum"
  15. [22:04:04] <Viktoriya> "...Strange." She starts towards the igloo, her first thought to check and see if there brothers are there, and if they are safe.

  17. [22:06:05] <@castfromhp> The igloo is abandoned, as far as you can tell. There are still a few fishing supplies left inside.
  18. [22:06:20] <@castfromhp> The heat of the steam is a welcome reprieve from the blizzard Svetlana. Perception.

  24. [22:10:57] <Viktoriya> She looks around with some confusion, still wary. "Cookies? Are you offering? Or demanding?"
  25. [22:12:15] <@castfromhp> Roll me athletics or just straight agility, whichever is higher.

  29. [22:13:50] <@castfromhp> You manage to move out of the way just as a krabby tries to pinch you to get your attention. "cookie cookie."
  30. [22:16:57] <Viktoriya> "Hey! Careful with that!" She crouches down to get closer to the Krabby. "Your claws are much to dangerous for a poor little peasant girl such as I!" She grins, hoping the Krabby understands humor.
  31. [22:17:34] <@castfromhp> "Cookie cookie!" It gestures outside the igloo in consternation.
  32. [22:18:49] <Viktoriya> She tilts her head before looking out the door. "What? Did I miss something?"
  33. [22:21:11] <@castfromhp> It scuttles out of the igloo and heads over to where Svetlana has apparently been staring at the steam for ages now because Gents needs to get back to his dorm. It points at the steam. "Cookie."
  34. [22:22:18] <Viktoriya> She follows the Krabby slowly to the steamy patch. "This is what I need to see?" She inspects the area.
  35. [22:22:55] <@castfromhp> "Cookie."
  36. [22:23:55] <@castfromhp> You can see a small trail where the snow is less dense here, as if some of it were being melted, leading off to a patch of shrubbery a little ways away from the lake.
  37. [22:26:44] <Viktoriya> She furrows her brow and begins to follow the slightly melted trail cautiously towards the shrubbery. "Stay close, little guy..."
  38. [22:28:26] <@castfromhp> As you draw closer you see a collective of Krabby all slaving away at what looks to be a collapsed gate of ice in front of a hole in the ground. It seems to be blocking their entrance. The craftsmanship is remarkable for pokemon, but at the moment it's just an obstacle to them.
  39. [22:28:35] <@castfromhp> They scuttle about in a panic. "cookie cookie cookie!"
  40. [22:30:52] <Viktoriya> Blink blink. "Oh! You just need help clearing the ice?" She looks back to the Krabby that led her here.
  41. [22:31:50] <@castfromhp> It clicks its pincers at you in affirmation.
  42. [22:33:29] <Viktoriya> She nods and approaches the burrow, assessing the collpased ice structure before bending down and lifting as much of it away from the burrow as she can.
  43. [22:34:08] <@castfromhp> Roll brawling or athletics.

  46. [22:35:17] <@castfromhp> It doesn't take you particularly long to clear out the ice. You're able to easily break some of the bigger chunks to make it a more manageable task. Some of the Krabbys seem distraught at the loss, but they seem more determined to get at whatever's in this hole.

  48. [22:36:18] <@castfromhp> Svetlana, as you snap out of your daze in taking in the warmth of the steam, you see Viktoriya a little ways away near some shrubbery punching a crumbled gate made of ice near a group of krabbys. They're all chanting "cookie cookie cookie".

  57. [22:38:55] <@castfromhp> Svetlana can hear it...A loud rumbling from the east. It sounds like it's heading northwest from wherever it came from. The sound of snapping trees accompanies it.
  58. [22:39:38] <Viktoriya> She looks up at Svetlana as she breaks some beautiful little pieces of ice up into smaller chucks. "They are after something down this hole."
  59. [22:40:37] <@castfromhp> Once there is enough of a clearance, the Krabbys all file in! ...A few moments later, they emerge with little metal trays. On them lie steaming hot, slightly burnt cookies. The first Krabby you met offers one each to Svetlana and Viktoriya.

  62. [22:42:16] <Viktoriya> "...'Cookie'. Um, thank you..." She smiles at the Krabby trying her best not to laugh as she takes one and bites into it.
  63. [22:43:02] <@castfromhp> It's quite tasty, if not a little bit burnt. Tastes like red velvet. It offers you another one as you finish up your first. (Obtained: Lava Cookie - acts as a full heal)
  64. [22:45:35] <Viktoriya> "I appreciate it, little one!" She takes the second cookie and tucks it away. "We are looking for 2 brothers who came here to fish... do you know what happened to them?"
  65. [22:46:46] <@castfromhp> It scuttles over to the lakeside and points at the sheet of thin ice.
  66. [22:47:12] <@castfromhp> It does a small somersault and lands on it, then pokes at it until it cracks.

  71. [22:51:22] <@castfromhp> the Krabby holds up a claw and then dives under the water. It swims to the other side and pops out the other bit of thin ice with a somersault and a "tah dah" motion with its claws.

  73. [22:55:30] <@castfromhp> The Glaceon gladly takes it and then hops over to the ice, staring to ice skate with a :D
  74. [22:56:25] <Viktoriya> She breathes a visible sigh of relief. She reaches into her coat and pulls out a pokeball, releasing Carvanha into the hole in the ice. "Lockjaw, search along the lakebed for any clues or debris, we'll meet you on the other side. And no hunting! I will feed you later!" She leans in a little closer. "I know it's cold, but you can do this."
  75. [22:56:56] * Svetlana shakes Viktoriya. "Do you think things are under the water?"
  76. [22:57:29] <@castfromhp> Lockjaw snaps his jaws together and dives under. It resurfaces occasionally, pulling out bits of truck, bits of tree, bits of telephone pole, bits of just about all the kinds of debris you've found so far.
  77. [22:59:24] <Viktoriya> She looks to Svetlana and shakes her head. "I think they've been taken by something out the other side, and we should head that way as well."
  78. [22:59:56] <Viktoriya> (How much longer would it take to go around the lake than over the ice?)
  79. [23:00:37] <@castfromhp> More debris keeps getting brought up. More and more. Lockjaw finds a pokeball that still functions and an amnesia TM for your troubles.
