  1. [17:34] Try as he might to spy upon the High Lady and her would-be associates, something kept drawing Tieru's attention away.
  2.
  3. Something that felt far different then anything else the young Teraphim had felt within Myllanoris.
  4.
  5. Well--only partially true.
  6.
  7. It felt similar to the High Lady.
  8.
  9. Softly his steps come, the blades of grass crunching underneath as he approaches before standing just before the Mistseer.
  10.
  11. Eyes never meet Elred's, however. Instead, they focus upon the crystalline creations around him.
  12.
  13. "My," Speaks Tieru, his tone dropping. Different then the High Lady--or was it the same, but manifested differently?
  14.
  15. A weak smile crosses Tieru's lips.
  16.
  17. "Mistseer," He speaks, his eyes now meeting Elred's own.
  18.
  19. "...Do you gamble?"
  20. (Tieru Avlee)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [17:41] Elred didn't really take much time to process what was being asked if anything he found it weird for the man to stare at him this long. Elred wasn't sure what he wasn't getting at with the odd question, but with odd question they received short answers.
  24.
  25. "I don't" it was stated plain and simple even a child could understand "Is there something you help with?" the offered given, but pulled away from the topic of gambling.
  26.
  27. Elred couldn't wrap his head around it nor would be try to in any fashion.
  28. (Elred Yindove)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30. [17:45] "That's good, because this isn't a gamble."
  31.
  32. It was a childish boast, a young Teraphim with too much hot blood to think otherwise. "I challenge you, with 3,000 coins on the table, that I can defeat you in single combat Mistseer."
  33.
  34. ...Despite all the effort that Tieru might make to be prim and proper, however, he wasn't experienced in subterfuge nor deception.
  35.
  36. Elred's connection to the world at large is quite-likely strong enough to pierce through whatever obfuscation the younger teenager is attempting to muster. Eyes flicker over to the gemstones around Elred on too many occasions for it to be coincidental.
  37.
  38. "Or do you believe you will not succeed...?"
  39.
  40. A thinly veiled effort to be struck down by Eldred, likely in an effort to divine the secrets beyond both the Mistseer and the High Lady's mastery.
  41.
  42. Even the smile upon Tieru's face is faltered, as if half-afraid of the wounds-to-be.
  43.
  44. A darkened hand rests upon a coin pouch, Tieru's head cocked.
  45. (Tieru Avlee)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47. [17:51] This was odd and completely random though he should have expected that in truth things don't make sense in the city half the time.
  48.
  49. "If you want to fight me then by no means will I stop you from doing so." Elred wasn't sure what he'd gain from this, but this was just like any other fight. "I'm confident in my skill and I don't want your coins"
  50.
  51. Elred took a deep breath which a hand resting on the hilt of his blade, beginning to make his way into the dojo.
  52.
  53. "Come along then I'll give you what you want even if it's still odd to me."
  54.
  55. Elred wasn't sure what the gamble was or, but some people did things differently for whatever reason. He'd find out sooner or later.
  56. (Elred Yindove)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58. [17:55] Tieru is, seemingly, taken aback.
  59.
  60. No coins? Nothing but honor on the line?
  61.
  62. Somehow, this wounded the teen, and he seems confused by why he's wounded by this. Was it so in the bag that Elred felt no need to rob poor coins from Tieru?
  63.
  64. "I--" He stutters, breaking from the proper eloquence he desperately attempts to project. "Very well, then! All the better!" And with pomp and exuberance does he try and regain control of the situation again.
  65.
  66. A deep breath comes in and out from the ebony-skinned Teraphim, beckoning Elred to follow. "Come, then! My challenge is...accepted..."
  67.
  68. It was a plan with a state in his mind that could have succeeded, but never did he plan on it happening.
  69.
  70. "To the Arena, for all to..." Tieru hesitates as he begins to lead the Mistseer away. "...see..."
  71.
  72. This was gonna hurt...
  73. (Tieru Avlee)
  74. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  75. [18:01] Elred doesn't waste any time, pulling his blade from the sheathe covering the blade with his own Sapphire crystals. This was new for him, but he'd honor the request for whatever he seek to gain from this.
  76.
  77. The area around him seem to shift as a clone emerged from the shadows. Elred seemed to be pulling out all the stops to fight against him, but the reason was still unclear to him.
  78.
  79. "I'm prepared and I hope you are."
  80.
  81.
  82. The sapphires rapidly spinning around his body it seems to be reacting to his own emotions. Elred seemed ready to strike the man with his blade.
  83.
  84. Elred begin dashing towards the man.
  85. (Elred Yindove)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87. 18:03] To admit the reasoning for the combat would be to admit weakness.
  88.
  89. That was, ultimately, what the challenge came down to. To be taught is to admit you cannot learn on your own. To ask for help is to admit you lacked the strength to sieze it. It is that aspect of life that paradoxically brings the younger Teraphim before the blade of a master.
  90.
  91. But it is never the blade Tieru's amber eyes seek.
  92.
  93. It were the stones that so swirled in power around Elred, culminating into a sapphire edge upon his spirit-touched blade. Gemstones enriched by--well, that was the question, wasn't it? What separated that arcana from his own? From the High Lady's?
  94.
  95. Blood would tell, and deep down Tieru knew it to be his.
  96.
  97. Such were the sacrifices the Spirit's need.
  98.
  99. "This," begins the Teraphim, "Will go many different ways. I suppose I'd like to thank you for humoring me.
  100.
  101. And I'd also like to apologize, perhaps for the last time."
  102.
  103. Tieru draws his bow back, nocking an arrow.
  104.
  105. "Because I fear this might get chaotic, and confusing, very fast.
  106.
  107. As a Teraphim, I hope that even as I fall, you'll find clarity in what I do."
  108.
  109. Eyes, still, fall upon the swirling sapphire gemstones. Studying. Listening. Trying to feel it out.
  110.
  111. To understand Elred's stance.
  112.
  113. A cloud of darkness falls upon the arrow within Tieru's hand, the bow being pulled back.
  114.
  115. --Hey wait...
  116.
  117. What magic was that...?
  118. (Tieru Avlee)
  119. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  120.
  121. [18:03] Urlen Inavyre says, "...is taht..."
  122. [18:09] It's a trick that Tieru gets to pull exactly once.
  123.
  124. It was the occult.
  125.
  126. It was the same trap that the priests ran into on the field of battle. They thought they were fighting a Teraphim, of nature and of the wild, and came face to a darker magic then they were prepared for.
  127.
  128. The trick works when it works. Elred, undoubtedly taken off guard by the flurry of chaotic mana, is thrown back by Tieru as they clash.
  129.
  130. Adrenaline pumps through Tieru's veins, but never does he let his eyes off the prize. The gemstones swirling in reaction to the fight. How they danced, how they clung to the blade, and how viciously they sapped upon him.
  131.
  132. It was different then Lazuli. It was different then Ro.
  133.
  134. It was unique, and Elred's own touch upon it.
  135.
  136. "Fascinating..."
  137.
  138. Little words come from the would-be braggart, seemingly taken aback at the clash. If there were ill-will, it's not spoken, and if he had fear, it's left until the end.
  139.
  140. "How did you ever summon..." Tieru's voice trails softly as he readies another arrow. "...what power you must have.
  141.
  142. You're Mistseer for a reason."
  143. (Tieru Avlee)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [18:13] Elred wasn't expecting him to use the magic of a witch, no this was some kind of joke, but clearly the guy was crazy and he used it against him in the fight?
  147.
  148. "..That is terrible.." Elred couldn't even finish his sentence there was clearly a displeased look upon his face. The same magic used to created issues and they hunted for this and Elred even planed to kill a person for what they used this for.
  149.
  150. Elred ran his fingers though his hair clearly upset about this, but he was going to finish this fight. Despite his magic..
  151.
  152. Just the though of it took him out of character not only because a Teraphim used it, no. This was used to hurt their Grey-Cloaks in the past and it struck the match that hovered above Elred.
  153. (Elred Yindove)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [18:21] ..This was the same magic that killed one of their own recently, but what could come of this battle? Hate, a sickness, a remaindered? Elred was conflicted with his emotions, but one this was clear he'd aim to finish this battle.
  157.
  158. Time slowly ticked, whispers heard clearly while this was terrible this also prepared him for what's to comes. Elred couldn't thank him, no this was an unfortunate encounter that left a bade taste in his mouth.
  159.
  160. The Sapphire around his blade thickens as he aimed it directly towards the Occultist. This friendly bout turned Elred to a more aggressive side, but he wouldn't kill them, no that wasn't the intent.
  161.
  162. He'd aim to finish and move towards the next location there was something that needed to be done or information that needed to be collected. He hope that the whispers are wrong, but they have every reason to be right.
  163.
  164. "..Let's end this."
  165.
  166. (Elred Yindove)
  167. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  168.
  169. [18:24] If something was wrong with Elred, Tieru fails to see it.
  170.
  171. Were he more focused upon the man and not the stance, perhaps he'd feel the changing of the pressure in the room. Maybe he'd see the eyes, once curious, and now vividly fixated upon him.
  172.
  173. Maybe he'd notice the daggers being stared into his back.
  174.
  175. And, maybe--just maybe--his hyperfixation upon the sapphire gemstones was his way to avoid that.
  176.
  177. "Of course," Upon a knee he falls, beaten back by the sapphire-infused blade that dares to cleave his flesh from his bones were this a true battle. So dangerously sharp, infused with spiritual mana!
  178.
  179. "My burden upon you ends soon."
  180.
  181. The coins, if ever asked, would likely still be proffered--but the attention is not brought to it as Tieru rises, studying the gemstone ascention.
  182.
  183. Sapphires.
  184.
  185. What a beautiful gem...
  186. (Tieru Avlee)
  187. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  188.
  189. [18:26] {Won Restrained RPB against Tieru Avlee}
  190. [18:36] Is this the reason she lost? Is this the dark feeling that encased her body? To be taken so soon by something this foul she deserved better than to die to this magic.
  191.
  192. Elred felt for her this pain in his chest would forever be remembered while the dark sludge dripped from his cloak. His one crystal blue eyes were now the shade of his crystals -Sapphire-.
  193.
  194. He'd dragged his now sapphire blade behind him, slowly it began digging into the stone tiles. The sword began oozing the occult magic Elred refused to have that magic enter his body to heal his wounds.
  195.
  196. He rather die than ever have something so foul in his system ever. He couldn't only think of her dead body and then magic used on him today.
  197.
  198. Slamming his blade into the dojo ground he almost wanted to scream, but the spirits, the whispered kept him at bay for the time being.
  199.
  200. He felt something, but he knew this wasn't the end of it...
  201.
  202. "...I, you.., this needed to be fixed or addressed."
  203.
  204. Elred didn't wait for anyone to speak with him nor was he in the mood to answer any question. He was going to seek answers to his question weather or not it took him the rest of the day or not.
  205.
  206. The thoughts rapidly played in his head as he tried to shake of this troubling feeling...
  207. (Elred Yindove)
  208. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  209.
  210. [18:43] Urlen expected this to be a rather entertaining fight. He expected there to be some sort of goal in Tieru's acts. He even had a slight smile on his face.
  211. But that smile quickly disappeared. He heard familiar whispers. Saw magic he quickly could recognize. He leaned a bit in, trying to make sure- It was.
  212. Occult magic.
  213. His hand reached to his back, a grimace of both anger and pain appearing on his face. Him, a teraphim, dipping into such magic.
  214. Into the type of magic that killed Thadria.
  215. Where did he even learn that? By himself? Did he learn it from Mihalis himself? Did he learn it from a witch?
  216. If it was the third, he would have to be questioned.
  217.
  218. The fight was over. Urlen's fists were clenched. he took a step forward, not even noticing it. He was about to talk- when Elred spoke up. The steel gaze wandered towards the more respectable Teraphim in the duo here, and immediately Urlen got control back on his breathing- calming down. His stance relaxed, but his eyes still looked back to Tieru, an intense look on his face.
  219.
  220. "He is right. This needs to be fixed. Everyone will have to know this. Why are you using such magic? The most important one as of now- How did you learn it?"
  221.
  222. His body relaxed, even though he had lost whatever respect he might have still tried to keep towards Tieru.
  223. Not when he had learned something like that, right after one friend got killed by it.
  224. (Urlen Inavyre)
  225. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  226.
  227. [18:45] A brilliant display of magic swirled around.
  228.
  229. Darkened, occultic mana surged against crystaline slices of sapphiric (and decidedly not sapphic) arcana, clouds of darkness banished in a single bladestring.
  230.
  231. Until, at the end, a decided clash of both the fighters frenzied fury brings both to a distant standstill.
  232.
  233. "...My..." A smile lay wide upon Tieru's face, not yet realizing the situation he was in.
  234.
  235. He still appreciates the beauty of the vivid blue stones as they fade away, Tieru collecting himself upon the opposing end.
  236.
  237. The smile, slowly, fade as the rest of the arena fades in.
  238.
  239. It was expected.
  240.
  241. A sigh slowly escapes Tieru's lips, words that he had practiced for so long in the mirror of his home repeating themselves like a child readying himself for a vocabulary test.
  242.
  243. "Nothing in Myllanoris escapes the eyes of the High Lady. No man, no magic, no battle.
  244.
  245. I am a known element to her. My judgement is rendered by her, and her alone. Do you defy the Will of Aschea?"
  246. A single eye peeks out, gazing upon Urlen with distrustful hesitation.
  247.
  248. As if expecting the elder human to strike out...
  249.
  250. (Tieru Avlee)
  251. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  252.
  253. [18:47] Elred Yindove says, "I'll return shortly."
  254. [18:49] Elred Yindove whispers: Where did Lady Asta go?
  255. [18:49] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers to Elred Yindove: To meditate, I believe.
  256. [18:50] Elred Yindove whispers: Where? I want to know why there is an occultist in our city clmaining she knows about this.
  257. [18:50] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers to Elred Yindove: What is their name?
  258. [18:50] Elred Yindove whispers: Tieru.
  259. [18:50] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers to Elred Yindove: I can confirm she is aware and permitting it.
  260. [18:51] Kalina Octavius whispers: Occultists are welcome here, aren't they?
  261. [18:51] Elred clearly wasn't happy if his facial expression weren't enough he also turn to punch the wall behind him before making his leave
  262. (Elred Yindove)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. [18:51] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers: Permitted so long as they maintain control of themselves. All part of the balance.
  266. [18:52] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers: I'd...not spread that information, however.
  267. [18:52] Elred Yindove whispers: When occultist continue to attack out Grey-Cloaks I have an issue.
  268. [18:53] Elred Yindove whispers: For your information he used the magic in public
  269. [18:54] Elred Yindove whispers: While fighting me in the dojo with enough people to see with their own eyes.
  270. [18:54] Regulus orn Grimmore whispers: Elred, you are free to speak of it with Asta when she comes out of her meditations.
  271. [18:54] Elred Yindove says, "Then I will."
