A fairly happy-go-lucky soldier, Phoenix is clumsy, in the 'can't catch something dropped right above him' kind of way. He's also fairly lanky, making him not the strongest soldier in the unit. But! He! Tries! Which is why the others can't help but take him under their wing.

Unfortunately, though, most of 'being under the wing' consists of trying to dissuade Phoenix from his current romantic endeavors. You see, he is completely tail over head in infatuation with Sheri. The mad scientist. The mad scientist known for throwing her lovers into the cauldron of infestations and sickness that come from the Plaguebringer.

Phoenix doesn't want to see reason. Whenever it's brought up, he simply mentions that Sheri has yet to do anything to him and that she and he are very happy together. Never mind that she gets a maniacal look in her eye whenever Plague territory is brought up. Never mind that he fears for his life whenever she handles any sharp or dangerous equipment. He has suffered nothing, so maybe she's over it?[/columns]

In keeping with this cautious optimism, Phoenix hides and gets rid of every single nest they have together. He's heard the horror stories of eggs being used in potions, in various creations. Of eggs being test subjects. Just because Phoenix is willing to overcome what may happen, doesn't mean he's willing to subject his children to the cause.

This, funnily enough, doesn't strain his relationship with Sheri. In fact, she seems a little brighter every time that they wake up together and there are no eggs. Phoenix has yet to ask what this means, but he's certainly not complaining when her happy moods result in him getting rewarded. Though he does wonder where his children are and if hiding them was the right thing to do.

Better to give them a chance then to knowingly let them die.
