- A cycle ride passing through villages around Nagarahole and Bandipur
- Tiger Reserves to create awareness among people about the impact of
- forest fires. The ride is being organised by Wildlife Conservation
- Society(WCS) and Ride A Cycle Foundation(RACF) for the first time
- under the Eco Conservation Ride Series.
- The cycle ride will start on the 18th Feb 2011 from Veerahosa halli,
- Nagarahole at 7.00am and end at Muttigehundi by 4.00 pm on the 20th
- Feb 2011. We will be cycling about 40km/ day and cover about 50 -60
- villages to spread the awareness. A specialized drama group who have
- created a street play depicting the evils of the forest fires will be
- accompanying us throughout, and will be performing in the villages.
- It is a very scenic route that runs along the Nagarhole and Bandipur
- Wildlife Sanctuaries. It is an MTB terrain with the last stretch being
- an amazing off road stretch that will test your riding skills.
- Kindly Note: There will be no support vehicle during most stretches of
- the ride due to some of the road being 4 wheeler unfriendly. However,
- the vehicle will be available at the start point and end point each
- day to transport our luggage.
- The minimum requirement for riding on this program will be,
- - To speak in Kannada fluently
- - To be able to cycle 40km / day
- - Accomodation will be basic. Kindly get your sleeping bag along.
- - Enjoy MTB road conditions. This ride is not a road bike affair.
