  1. Reading
  2.
  3. "Well its worth a try" he responded as he stared at the book cases with a smile. "You know. Your pretty amazing Millia. You know so many different magics. And now your learning wind! I think it's pretty cool." he mentioned as she begun to complain about not having a dangerous encounter. "Heh.. That's why I said that you probably dont want to do it that way." he mentioned as he watched her attempt it again.
  4.
  5. Which drew his attention from the bookshelf and to her finger. A small gust would appear which made his smile grow. "And look at that! Your even making progress!" he exclaimed in joy.
  6.
  7. "In time. You'll be a master. No problem!" he said
  8. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  9. That didn't take her long to figure out!
  10.
  11. She had made a small current in the room. And that, of course, was the start of wind magic. She still had alot more to practice with before she could actually do anything to consider herself a master of the element.
  12.
  13. "I think I'll be able to figure this out real soon! Just... give me a few hours of practice. Than, I'll have wind magic figured out... Than I'll be able to move on to greater stuff." It was always about progress with magic. Once she had to basics, she jumped into something else. Sometimes something more advance.
  14.
  15. Her use of holy lightning being an example.
  16.
  17. Sitting here and practicing for a few hours, practicing, wasn't something she was going to do with a friend. She'd rather practice alone, where she could have focused better. Probably why she didn't get it the first time. So she tried to stir the topic away from her progress on wind magic.
  18.
  19. "So... Do you have any idea on how to get your wings?"
  20. (Millia Reid)
  21. The M A G I C!
  22.
  23. Waiting a while as he hoped that she would attempt the magic once more. Kyo stood back to watch her, only time would tell if she would be able to do it. It was up to her in all honesty. But he would be her support. Provide her with support. In this case. Morale support! Watching her continue on with what she was doing. A small current would begin to form. Making him maintain his smile with delight. "Wow your doing it! You see! I told you!" he cheered. " Hours! This is perfect! I can't believe that your able to do this! It's so cool! " he continued on
  24.
  25. She surely was making progress .Any longer. She would be able to par his level in wind magic. He couldn't help but feel as if she had more of a knack for magical abilties than he did. Which only made him feel that he had to train harder than ever. But that being thought. He didn't want Millia to know how much he envied her proweless. It was as if she was better at him in everything. Or thats how he saw it. But even so. He didn't feel like he needed to beat her in anything. Instead. He admired her for it. It wasn't something that everyone could do. He just had to try harder. Thats' all. Ontop of that. He just had to work with her. The two of them would build the other up. Then their dream could become real. But they just needed to keep at it. Keep on grinding. They had to work together to make the dream work!
  26.
  27. Now the topic came to him. About his idea of earning his wings. Which he frowned and gave out an awkward laugh. " heh... I still have no clue. I just hope to get my wings soon!"
  28. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  29. She still didn't understand his excitement. Which had her tilting her head towards him. This was normal for her really. But it seemed all strange and wonderous for him. She didn't really believe herself as special, as he has appearently considered her.
  30.
  31. Millia thought herself pretty normal.
  32.
  33. Besides for the fact that she acted a bit smarter than others her age every now again... And she was able to figure out basics of magics quicker than other people could really. Besides that, nothing. She stared at him when she stopped. He seemed to be really worked up and happy how fast her progress was going.
  34.
  35. Exactly why she brought up the topic on his wings and stuff. She never really liked attention being on herself. So she put some on him.
  36.
  37. Though, the answer she got wasn't very pleasant. He didn't know how to get his wings out. "Oh... Well... Do you know if any of these books can help?" Her eyes moved over to the bookshelf.
  38.
  39. "I'm pretty sure one of these can help you... And tell me how I can help you."
  40. (Millia Reid)
  41. Talent.
  42.
  43. The mere fact how Millia could control so many elements over such a short time. It was just merely insane. He just couldn't believe it. While he knew two which combined into a third one. She pratically knew five! Having a sort of mastery over three of them and working on the other two. If that wasn't amazing. He didn't know what was.
  44.
  45. Then the topic about his wings would go on further. Which he didn't mind the spotlight once and a while. Which made him look at the book shelf due to the question she had asked. Which made him point out two books on the shelf. "Well. One was about the Drakanite Origin. How Drakanites came to be. The different forms and types of Drakanites! The other one was basically about the body of the Drakanite. The. Phys-.... physi....physiology. I wasn't too interested into that. It basically showed how their functions are. As if someone actually opened up a Drakanite and examined them. Which is something im not really interested in. So I really haven't read past the first few pages. It seems a bit creepy if you ask me." he mentioned
  46.
  47. It seemed that she was kind of fixed on him getting the wings. So Kyo thought about it. Which made him think about ways how it could happen. But he wasn't so sure about it. After all. Drakanite wings wasn't something everyone could do. Only Drakanites. So it was virtuely impossible. For someone else to help him with it. But he would still appreciate her help with it. So for her. He would try it now. He was just going to wait for it to some how happen if she wasn't pushing him towards it at the moment
  48. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  49. She was told two types of book that might have help. Her eyes moved to the shelf once again and skimmed the selection for those two books. It took her about three minutes. She held the books her hands before dropping them to the floor. Than dropping to the floor just after.
  50.
  51. The book with the title: Drakinites. That was was the one she was going read first. It seemed smaller and quickier to get through. She sat there quietly reading through the book, with an occasional yawn because none of it really interested her. Well, there was a thing or two that jumped out to her every now and again. Mainly the part of the book that read that drakinites could turn into dragons.
  52.
  53. "Didn't know you could turn into an actual dragon..." Muttering as she closed that book. And moved on to the next. Millia read that title too. Same as the last, just with a few extra words:
  54.
  55. Drakinite Physiology
  56.
  57. Than she opened the book and read that one too. Though... This one seemed to be alittle similar. And it didn't take her long to see that it was the same as the last book. Except, it gave more details. She should have read this one first.
  58.
  59. And she probably wouldn't have wasted so much time with the last one.
  60.
  61. It took her about thirty minutes to finish that book. When she was done she pushed it away. And her eyes raised up to him. She had a couple of guess to how it all worked. But she had a question. "Are you one of those purebloods they talk about in the book?"
  62. (Millia Reid)
  63. Research.
  64.
  65. "It just freaks me out." he said a little unnerving. It was like he had the choice to finally figure out what his entire being was made out of. He could even take advantage of it and exploit the natures of his body if possible. But in all honesty. He was kind of scared. What if there was something in that book that revealed something really nasty about his race. Would he be able to accept it? He wasn't sure. So that was why he really held back on going to deep into the book. It was just. Eerie to him. But that didn't stop Millia as she went for it. Staring at her. He followed her eyes as she traced the bookshelf. Row after row until she saw what she was looking for. He could tell because her eyes stopped scanning and stopped dead on one of the books within the book shelf. It was a weird feeling as he looked at her looking at it. It kind of freaked him out to be honest. Of how steadfast she was about it. Kind made him admire her even more. She would then gather up both books and drop them to the floor. Soon rather following suite and dropping to the floor alongside them. Which he decided to sit down beside her to join along.
  66.
  67. He would then stare at both books. Looking at the one that he read about a hundred times over. Drakanites. She picked that one up and began to skim through it. Something that he didn't mind. What he minded was the secrets that was held within the other book. Drakanite Physiology. He eyed it as Millia kept searching into the first book. She seemed to be really focused into helping him. Which took his attention off the book he was looking at on the floor and turned it to her. She looked pretty cool as she read the book. He couldn't lie. But she looked different. Smarter even? More powerful? Wisdom? Cuter? He couldn't tell. She just had a different vibe around her that made him feel that he wanted to do better in life. Which motivated him to actually stive for his wings instead of just haviing them pop out of the blue. It was quiet during the time she read though. He didn't want to disturb her so he just watched patiently. A few yawns would be given as he watched her continue on. Which made him feel as if most of the things within the book didn't really interest her. But it didn't bother him much. Mostly because he knew that everyone had their own likes. Which made him smile. He appricated that she atleast tried for him. But he already made his own goal now. He needed to get his wings. If he didn't have them. He wouldn't be strong enough to fulfill their dream.
  68.
  69. "Yeah.... I'm still trying to work that out haha. I bet it must feel pretty cool." he said as he watched her go from one book to the other.
  70.
  71. She then opened it and went in, which he didn't bother to take the chance to look into. Didn't want to bother with it. It seemed that the book was done within thirty minutes to an hour. Then she closed it. Pushed it away. The looked at him. Staring at her in a way that he couldn't read. It was just one of those stares. Then she asked a question.
  72.
  73. "Pureblood?" he questioned. "What do you mean about being a pureblood?" he quizzed. Not knowing exactly what she was talking about
  74. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  75. "Well... I was reading the one about physiology and stuff, and it's just a longer version of the first one." She spoke as she started to look for the place where she pulled the first one. Once she found it, she put it back. And than, looked back to Kyo.
  76.
  77. She flipped through a few pages until she found the right now. Than showed it to him. In the part of the book, it explained, the third form a drakinite can take! Something called full shift. But it was something not every drakinite could perform, as their blood might have been impure. "This is what I mean. People who are purebloods are the people who can turn into actual dragons. Earlier in the book, it said something about people with mixed blood. I think those are the people who can't."
  78.
  79. Than she closed the book. And asked him again. "Are you a pureblood, or are you a mixed blood?"
  80.
  81. Millia needed to know to see how she could help him. If he was a pureblood, that would have made it a bit difficult. Since the author of the more detailed book was appearently mix blooded, from what she could tell.
  82.
  83. "Also, the book says you're not immune to fire, which is kinda lame."
  84. (Millia Reid)
  85. Knowledge
  86.
  87. Frowning. Kyo was uncertain about what she meant about being a pureblood. Which was kind of strange. What made it even worse was that it seemed that he only had some knowledge of the book. Not all. So on the most part. He was oblivious about it. Where as she was fresh with memory. He looked at her with a rahter confusing look as she explained that the one about physiology was basically a logner version of the first one. Then she would look at the book case for a while before picking up a book and putting it back into place. There, she would go to the other book and flip open a few pages before coming across a page that she wanted and flipped the book around to show him. Which he wasn't sure about as he looked at it confused. Looking at the words. He took his time to read them carefully as it explained how a Drakanite could take a form called full shift. Something that he didn't quite understand. Then ther was a part about not every Drakanite could perform that technique. Making him quite curious about it. Something about blood wouldn't make it work.
  88.
  89. "So what your saying is.... I have to be a pureblood. In order to become an actual Dragon?" he questioned curiously. Then the question came up of him being a pureblood or mixed blood. "I'm not sure about that one." he explained. "I don't know if I'm mixed blood or pureblood."
  90.
  91.
  92. "Awwh"
  93. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  94. "Yeah, but." She opened the book again to scan through the pages. When she found the right one, she opened it to him. It was the part about the mix blooded people.
  95.
  96. "Turning into an actual dragon is just an exclusive kinda thing. All the drakinites can turn into something called half shift. And I'm pretty sure that's what the people with wings and tails walking around would call it. Pretty sure most of them are problem mixed blood, but I think some might be pureblood."
  97.
  98. Also, she noticed something. It seemed like she knew a whole lot more about him than he knew about himself. And that was just by reading a book. She wasn't sure how to feel about that, so she just put the thought to the side for now and flipped through a few pages in the book. Skimming over a few things. Than her eyes rose him to book, to him. Closing it, she knew what to do basically.
  99.
  100. "We'll just say you're mixed blood! It makes it easier 'half shift' is the second form, and all the drakinites can do. And if you are pureblood, we'll figure out 'full shift' later!" In her little head, that sounded like it would be the easiest way to go about all of this.
  101.
  102. "Okay?"
  103. (Millia Reid)
  104. Facts.
  105.
  106. "So... I'm only allowed to change into something called Half shift then? ....... Huh..... Is there anyway the book tells you how a mix blooded can become a full blood?" he questioned as he was kind of bummed out that he had a 50 50 chance of being a pureblood or not.
  107.
  108. Then she came up with the idea of just marking him mixed blood since they didn't know his origins. Which he didn't mind. It meant that half shift was going to be easier for him. So perhaps. It was the best to think it that way now. "Yeah! Let's go with that." he agreed.
  109.
  110. Then he thought of something. "Hey Millia. I think that I know of one of these purebloods. Maybe they can help us with my problem! I'll be right back!" he exclaimed as he waved at her " It might take a while so I'll try to find you when I'm done!" he said as he went to the exit of the orphanage. Awaiting for her to say anything else before leaving.
  111. (Kyo Kamikaze)
