- What confuses me is why would Stella hire Striker? He's an over-glorified cowboy larper and was prideful enough to actually interact with the locals rather than just being in the shadows and sniping Stolas.
- Why not hire some sinners? They're 10 times more stronger and competent than Striker. Stolas goes into Imp city which is in Pride so sinners can head over. So why not hire some KGB/CIA/SS assholes to get the job done?
- I'm starting to think Stella doesn't actually want to murder Stolas but show that it's kinda fked up to cheat and mess up her entire deal.
- Then again I could just be rtrded.
- -
- Stolas doesn't spend too much time in Imp City probably, and Striker had that chad angelic weapon
- So Striker can both get better timing/placement, and actually take Stolas down
- -
- Well, he visits enough to the point that Blitzo has an alarm for it.
- ---
- >>41121823
- Striker was probably one of the few guys with an angelic gun. Stella likely knew someone that knew this and went ahead and contacted him. Unironically I think it was >>41121782
- >>41120779
- These two birds that may of known him from a contract themselves. So Stella not doing much research and being a sheltered pampered royal girl shells money out to him prpbably way above asking price and hopes he can kill Stolas. He could metaphorically do it. But I honestly think Striker rather fk Blitz for himself. I also feel if Stolas got shot and killed Lucifer would launch a massive investigation. Which Stella could be revealed hiding the fact Stolas was doing illegal deeds. She could take a plea bargain to Lucifer and say he threatened her. Or something. So many developments the show can take.
- -
- Because
- >need """"entertaining"""" filler character interaction and action
- They could have done this simply by Striker doing what you said but missing at first. Thus, prompting them all (I.M.P and Stolas) to be on guard and for Striker to be forced to interact with them up-close. Vivzie and the others are just shit writers. Get the memo
- Also, maybe Striker's mercenary company is more trustworthy than any other, so Stella possibly only had them to ask for the job. Other than that, yeah, she could have just hired a super strong sinner or demon (like Alastor-level or something) to do the job.
- >I'm starting to think Stella doesn't actually want to murder Stolas but show that it's kinda fked up to cheat and mess up her entire deal.
- This could be a possibility. Why doesn't she just go for the imp though?
- -
- >go for the Imp
- Stolas would probably go nuts and do something far more irrational than her. She might be afraid of the outcome.
- >hire a more powerful sinner like Alastor
- Viv confirmed at the q&a Stolas could push Alastor's sht in. Really quickly. Mortal sinners are not even close to powerful like Stolas. Alastor by no means is weak. He could probably give Stolas a run for his money. And that's probably very few of the earth borne. Such as Vox, and Valentino. Who probably could too. But would they even give a fk to take her contract? Alastor does literally WHAT he only wants and the others are the same. And would likely black mail her. I'm not sure what other overlords could even be considered OP like Alastor. He's a one of a kind. Truly even he can't kill Stolas.
- ----
- Another thing about the assassination
- If a sinner was hired, he'd stick out like a sore thumb. Stolas at most goes to Imp City, and an Imp assassin would draw the least attention in most of the rings
- -
- Very fair point and is correct but I'd still argue that a sinner wouldn't need to blend in. As if Stolas goes to Imp city he's going to be surrounded by buildings.
- A lot of the buildings surrounding IMP seem to be abandoned which would be a great spot to use.
- -
- Yeah imps are fairly uniform.
- >Humanoid
- >Different shades of red
- >Tails and horns
- Sinners be like
- >Flaming skull floating above a purple Mr. Universe contestant's body
- >Octopus in stilettos and a tophat
- >Bipedal bat with a bowtie
- >Punk rock hunched-back raptor
- >Windup toy with human eyes embedded in it
- Being a sinner in an imp-majority part of Hell is like being a white guy in Jamaica who is also wearing a neon yellow jumpsuit with christmas lights woven into it and running around with a bullhorn shouting "I'M BANANAMAN AND I CAN'T FIND MY CIGARETTES"
- ----
- >>41122145
- What I mean is not exactly Alastor (I get that he is untrustworthy) but just the idea that any other demon character with means of taking care of Stolas (like with the holy rifle) but also be able to hold much better against the imps.
- While I was writing this many good points where raised like this about why Striker and not anybody else >>41122624
- Plus, it's not like Striker was all that bad either. The whole point of the segment during ep5 was to show how competent he is. He did handle the IMPs, even one-on-two. Though he literally CHOSE not to kill Millie and Moxxie when he had the chance for "leverage" sake against Blitzo and "not worth the clean-up." Which I think is pretty dumb,
- THOUGH I reckon that Stella actually told Striker to get Blitzo on their side to betray Stolas. This explains why he had to interact with the group. In her plan, this would hurt Stolas' feelings even more, showing that it wasn't worth choosing the ho imp over her or something along those lines. A pretty sweet revenge from her point of few.
- I can't believe I just justified their writing.
- >>41121920
- >Striker was probably one of the few guys with an angelic gun
- Still, to me it seems weird that some low status imp would have the gun. I get that they're are exceptions for low status hell creatures. He is after all is a murc for the royalty. But more must also have some holy weapons.
- Plus, Stella could have him killed during any other moment she chooses. Just snipe 'em. The only explanation is that she doesn't want to necessarily kill him, but more like the plan that I stated already before.
- ----------------
- >clearly just settled down with the "most strategically appropriate" royal wife as hinted at by the song in episode 2
- >apparently a loveless relationship from the getgo
- >somehow he managed to hold out as long as he did without fking up
- >same with Stella
- how did they have the conviction to stay in a loveless marriage that long?
- -
- They're nobles, a divorce could come with a plethora of problems
- -
- Can't be that much trouble if mistresses are such a foreign concept that it makes stella go into a murderous rage.
- -
- They likely weren't forced or arranged. It's been hinted at. As anon said >>41124019
- It likely was the reality they Stolas had a chance to pick. Stella loved him LOVED. But he faded on his love and grew tired of it. Faith flickers. It's actually the greatest demon soap opera we got.
- ----------------
- So HHG, what do we name these guys?
- -
- Do they not have names already? Anyway, I would go with whatever the artist who created all of these calls them but I also don't want that is as they only post in Japanese.
- But I offer
- for the birdman
- >Philip, Oscar or maybe even August
- for the wife
- >trying to find some Egyptian origin names
- >Layla or Aya
- -
- crp. It's late, ok?
- >but I also don't want that is as they only post in Japanese.
- But I also don't know what they are as they only post in Japanese.
- -
- >Stolas clearly inherited much of his personality from his mother.
- >His father is much more stern and Old-school.
- >It’s possible that he is the one who arranger the marriage between Stolas and Stella, possibly in an attempt to push Stolas to be more of a proper noble.
- >He and Stella shares many opinions, so they get along great. Still, Stella haven’t informed Stolas’s parents about his Imp-fking out of fear of being judged herself for ‘failing’ Stolas and the family name.
- >Octavia get along well with her grandmother. Granfather, it be a little more rocky.
- We need some stories involving the Goetia Grandparents.
- ---
- I like mr feathers and birtha better
- -
- August would be best imo because a Roman name and an Egyptian name would fit well
- -
- August and Layla. Roman and Egyptian. Quite poetic in a historical way.
- -
- I like that. For more info based on various baby name sites
- >Layla
- Meaning: Night
- >Aya
- Meaning: Bird, wonderful, amazing
- >August
- Form of AUGUSTUS - revered, exalted or even magnificent
- -
- To add onto the Roman theming of August's name, maybe his last name should be Penna?
- Since 'Penna' is latin for "feather", which is also kinda like this anon's suggestion >>41126837
- -
- Anyway, I like Layla and Augustus. Aya with the bird meaning is a bit too on the nose maybe.
- They sound cute together and the Roman+Egyptian thing is a cute element.
- >>41126997
- Yeah, that's pretty cute
- Augustus Penna (I like the name with the "-us" personally)
- But let's get carried away and stick with the names for now
- ----------------
- Hey, heres something we did in the Opera thread
- We named these background birbs
- Augustus Penna
- Layla Penna
- They're married :)
- -
- I hope the next general's OP will be with them.
- That thread was wonderful, and we got good ideas/headcanons and overall engaging discussion, plus, these two wonderful characters.
- I might even take some drawings requests next thread to raise awareness and solidify them and their names. I've never taken drawings requests before though, will see how it goes.
