KanColle features a cast rich with personalities. Accordingly, they're portrayed by a variety of seiyuu. In commemoration of the fourth anniversary, we put out a questionnaire to 26 members of the seiyuu cast! Their voices, overflowing with love for KanColle, fill up seven pages!! Uesaka Sumire-san

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
The Fubuki-class is full of good girls! You want to watch over these girls as they grow up so quickly. And the close friendship and mutual respect between Souryuu and Hiryuu is really cool.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I want Isonami-oneechan to gently scold me.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I'd love to take Murakumo to an all-you-can-eat sweets store!

Nagato-san! When she first arrived at my base after I had started playing, she was a total lifesaver. Basically, I'm a no-good Admiral who's always counting on Nagato-san in battle...

- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
If we're talking older sisters... ahh, I have no idea who to pick. Picking Akagi would mean trouble at mealtime, and I think Yamashiro would be fussy if I went with Fusou-neesama. And with Kagerou, I bet she'd get worked up checking every last thing (laugh). And with Kagerou you wouldn't have to worry about losing things or forgetting your homework. As for little sisters, it'd definitely be Yukikaze and Tokitsukaze. I'd love to run around the neighborhood with those two rascals*!
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
My shipfu...? I love all the shipgirls I perform equally. Besides them,　I started to like Kaga-san after the anime began. In that spirit I ended up (temp) marrying her (she'd already been at level 99). I also like Kinugasa-san, or "Gassa". After I heard Nakajima Megumi performing I-58 live, I joined the I-58 train as well.
- Please give a message for KanColle's fourth anniversary and the admirals.
I'm really happy I got to see four long years with the admirals! There are more shipgirls and more implemented equipment, and I can only imagine admirals will take on greater and greater challenges as time goes on - please continue to support KanColle! Thank you for your continued support!

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
All the shipgirls have such personality! Actually, I guess there are a lot of really possessive shipgirls...? I like it, I think it's cute♪
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Sisters, huh...? I think I'd be happy if Tone were my pet (laugh). Tone would go "Hey! Whatever might you mean, pet!?", but the thought of that puts a smile on my face.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
It'd be great to take walks in the park. Even an ordinary walk would likely be full of personality with those girls coming along. And with Tone, we'd play with a ball! (Since she's a pet... (laugh)).

All the shipgirls I perform are precious to me! But I might be especially attached to Kaga-san, who I've had the chance to portray not only in the game but also in the anime and movie. I really respect her wonderful earnestness and strength of will.

Sakura Ayane-san

- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I'd love to see Mutsu and Nagato both being my older sisters, taking turns being the oneesan. As for little sisters... Naka-chan. I want to pamper her and make her laugh, and feel good from her innocent charm.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I'd take any girls interested to see what it's like to be a seiyuu.

All the girls I portray are cute!

Touyama Nao-san

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
I love the combination of 4 girls that makes up the Kongou-class sisters. Every one of them works their hardest, but since everyone's going in slightly different directions, it leads to a lot of antics - they're mischievous girls that are always fun to watch. As for Hiei, her curry and daydreaming about Kongou-oneesama make her seem like a straightforward girl, but when she put her life on the line in the movie, in a way alluding to history, it really gave me goosebumps.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I want to be princess carried while we skate on the water's surface. That sort of speed and movement would feel like being wind over the sea!
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
Hrmm, it's hard to say, but I love seafood, so I guess I'll pick the ocean this time (laugh). Lately I've fallen in love with seafood to the point that you could call me a "seafood seiyuu". I've even done dried sardine, dried squid, and dried seaweed tasting.

Taketatsu Ayane-san

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
They each have their own individual personality. One's a sweet Yamato Nadeshiko who still feasts away, another likes her "thin books" and draws doujinshi... They're all shipgirls that show so many expressions!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Yamato-chan would be my big sister, because she'd make me lots of food and spoil me. Makigumo-chan would be my little sister - I'd ruffle her hair while looking after her. Naganami-chan's cool, so rather than be my big or little sister, she'd be the class ikemen that all the girls like and that I idolize.
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
Yamato-chan. I look up to her. She's such a Yamato Nadeshiko, and she's good at cooking so she could make me lots of food and I think you'd be able to enjoy your meals every day with her. If something happens, she has the fighting strength to protect you too - it's very encouraging.
- What kind of KanColle collab would you like to see?
I'd be happy if the roast beef Yamato-chan made in the movie became a collab!

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
Since the 11 Mutsuki-class girls are destroyers, they're all so small and cute in their visuals. Their sisterly bonds are also appealing. Light Carrier Ryuujou is also small in a buncha places (laugh). You never get tired of her playing the straight man!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Kisaragi would be a fine older sister, but it'd be great if the rest of the girls could be my little sisters. It'd sure get lively! Especially with Uzuki (laugh). I think you could count on Kisaragi to look over her sisters with a gentle smile.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I wanna go on a picnic with everyone! I really want to eat delicious food and get moving by playing badminton together!
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
The ocean! Or so I'd like to say, but I can't swim and I'm worried about tanning... the ocean, but only if I can eat delicious food while enjoying a cool breeze at a seaside home!! (Laugh)

Tanibe Yumi-san

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
If I had to describe them each in one phrase: Shiratsuyu is the eldest sister, Shigure is fleeting, Murasame is balanced, Yuudachi is pure, Yura is soothing, Commandant Teste is stylish, and Fujinami is tactless!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Test-chan would be my oneechan - we could try on loads of clothes together! It might be interesting to make Yura-san, who gives the impression of being an older sister, a younger one instead.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
Karaoke with the four Shiratsuyu-class sisters! I bet it'd become a competition to time the cheers and such right. And... bowling, or something? I'm sure things'd be lively and fun wherever you go with the Shiratsuyu-class!

Murasame-chan! I want to make her happy! I'll make her happy! I wanna headpat Fujinami-chan too.

Knowing how Shiratsuyu, Shigure, Murasame, Yuudachi, and Yura have become happy mainstays of daily life, I'll continue to put all my energy into making Commandant Teste and Fujinami become the same!

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
At any rate, it's how they get along as sisters!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Ooi-san seems like she'd be gentle and sometimes very protective, so she'd be a good older sister. Having Kitakami-san as a little sister would be nice. Sure, being caught between the two of them would be rough, but it'd be interesting.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I wanna go to a beer garden with Jun'you. I love alcohol too, so it'd be fun!

I like Kako. I think it's cute how she's always sleepy.

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
The sisters Shoukaku and Zuikaku, one gentle and the other lively, are both cute in their own rights, but seeing how they really feel for each other in their dialogue during the movie and such makes you love them all the more.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I'm an only child, so I'd love an oneechan like Shoukaku. I'm sure her leniency would spoil me...! (laugh) As for little sister, Abukuma. I'd like to be the one going "there, there", with her.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I'd like to play outdoors with Kinu and Hayasui. Barbecuing by the river or on the beach, splashing water with Kinu and grilling meat with Hayasui would surely be fun.
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
I was raised on Hokkaido, so the ocean. I've gone fishing and camping a lot.
- KanColle brings to mind curry - what kind of curry do you like?
Hokki [Sakhalin surf clam] curry. There's plenty of opportunity to make seafood curry in Hokkaido, and curry with hokki and a dashi broth is so good it's a staple.

Kinugasa's "childhood friend" appeal, Hatsuzuki's strong sense of responsibility thanks to her compassion, and more and more for all the shipgirls, I could go on forever...!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Definitely want I-58 to be my little sister! When I'm down, I want her to encourage me by saying, "It'll be fine, dechi!"

I want us all to make food together and throw Hatsuzuki a party of delicious food.

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
I was given the four sisters of the Hatsuharu-class destroyers. I think it's the varied personalities between the four members of the class.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Hatsushimo seems like an older sister to me, because when I was recording her the briefing mentioned her as being like "a newly minted teacher". For little sister, Nenohi, I suppose. It'd get pretty lively every day.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
Taking Hatsuharu to old shrines and temples, and touring castles. I'd appreciate some films with Wakaba.
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
Shigure-san. She's calming, and her slightly disquieting atmosphere means you can't neglect her.
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
Mountains, since I was raised among them. I climb them, and I love to ski and snowboard during the winter.

Ishigami Shizuka-san
Mizuho, Umikaze, Kawakaze

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
Umikaze is a good girl, clearly. As a devoted girl who's very good at cooking, she'd be the best oneesan! Kawakaze is a tenacious tomboy and is girl who's easy to get along with. Mizuho's brimming with the sense she'd be a good wife and is a lovely woman, isn't she? And she calls out the admiral's name, she calls out!
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Umikaze is overwhelmingly the little sister! She's always playing the role of oneesan supporting others, so instead I'd like to spoil her! Kawakaze... it took a lot of thinking, but she'd be a little sister, I suppose. I wanna feed her. And make her happy by giving her an allowance! Mizuho is totally an older sister! Or "wife", if that was an option in the question (laugh). I want to eat her homemade cooking. And for her to care for me!
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I wanna mess with Umikaze's hair. Basically, I just want to see the loose version of the hair of girls with French braids. Definitely cute!! I want to make a lot of noise while playing shooting games with Kawakaze in my room. I'd climb mountains with Mizuho, perhaps? Reaching the peak together, where we rest and get to eat her special bento, and passing the time carefree.

Komatsu Mana-san

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
Zuihou-chan's gallant tenaciousness seems to earn a lot of admirals' affection. Hamakaze-chan's seriousness and slight inexperience with the world is cute. How Urakaze-chan wouldn't miss a beat and would stand smiling by your side even if the whole world turned against you! Tanikaze-chan's bright and lively positiveness!
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I want Zuihou-chan to teach me how to use the bow and arrow! And if I get too sweaty, I wanna soak away and relax with her in an onsen. Hamakaze-chan seems to love festivals, so I'd like to throw her to a tomato-throwing festival!* I'd like to do my hair to match with Urakaze-chan's. I'd like to watch a movie that brings you to tears with Tanikaze-chan. I think she'd cry more than anyone else cause she's so easily moved and I'd get to go, "There, there".
- What kind of KanColle collab would you like to see?
Planetarium! A heartrending audio drama playing as the scene of the battlefield on that day flashes by...

Akasaki Chinatsu-san
Aquila, Zara, Pola
- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
I think there's a lot of appeal in the pair that is Zara and Pola. The bold Pola and the one chasing after her, Zara, who has seen so much, make for a fun combo. At first glance, Aquila is a mature lady, but she's actually sort of lacking in places. She also seems to have a mysteriousness and motherliness alongside that.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I'll go so far as to make Zara the little sister! I want her to go, "Oh jeez, I'm the oneechan!" Aquila would be my oneechan - I want her to go, "There, there" to me. Pola... you could say she's everyone's little sister... (laugh).
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
Throw a party with everyone! We'll eat Zara's cooking with wine in hand and have fun. Even if we get drunk and get messed up it's fine, since it's like being at home.

My shipfu is Haguro. She hit level 99 first, so I went ahead and (provisional) married her. When she says, "Don't look!", wanting to look is human nature, of course, right?

Miyakawa Wakana-san
Chitose, Chiyoda, Asashio, Ooshio, Michishio, Arashio, Arare, Kasumi

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
Asashio puts her all straight into what she's doing. That dignity is cute. Ooshio is super bright and energetic, and being around her is like being near the Sun I think. Michishio isn't quiet, but she's a kind girl who cares for those around her more than anyone else. Arashio has some kind of mystery to her, but she's warm and fluffy, an endearing atmosphere unique to her. Arare doesn't say much, giving off a meek vibe that I think makes her a very cute girl. Kasumi's the youngest of the Assashio-class, yet she's the most steadfast of them all. For some reason you get a sense of motherliness from her! Chitose's super forgiving! Chiyoda shows you a lot of different expressions, as a little sister and as a young lady.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
Take the Asashio-class to an amusement park! I wanna make a lotta noise with them! As for Chitose and Chiyoda, I want to take it easy on a tour of onsen.
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
The ocean! I wanna zone out on the beach while staring at the horizon.
- KanColle brings to mind curry - what kind of curry do you like?
My favorite curry is the one my grandma makes!

It'll soon be the fifth year of shipgirls coming to life. They're able to run energetically across the seas thanks the support of the Commanders!


Hashimoto Chinami-san
Iowa, Yamakaze

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
I think Iowa's tall and sexy and a firm oneechan, but there's actually some super-cute parts to her. Yamakaze's really timid, but she acts more firmly around her little sisters and tries to support the Admiral. I like that sympathetic part of her.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I think I'd have Iowa as the younger and Yamakaze as the older one. Iowa mixing up Japanese culture and words is cute. If she were in the position of little sisters I could explain things properly to her. Yamakaze can be caring, so as an older sister, I'd like for her to control a troublesome person like myself.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
The energetic Iowa and I would put all our energy into minding Yamakaze to the point she's astounded, even while she's saying, "Don't mind me" despite casting glances at us!

I've got a passion for the shipgirls I performed. In fact, I bought Yamakaze's mug during the Mitsukoshi collab and make regular use of it! I like them!

I-19, I-8, Musashi

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
Musashi is really strong and cool, but she has a gentle and mischievous side when she's with her comrades - I think that gap is appealing. And personally I find silver hair moe (laugh). I-19 likes to tease the admiral, and her simple-mindedness is really cute. I like I-8's form all round, and her gentle personality is really soothing.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I want to make use of Musashi's forgiving nature, so she'd be the older sister. Iku-san would be the little sister, since I want to be teased (laugh). And I want to be Hacchan's younger sister, since I want her to spoil me.
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
Shoukaku and Kitakami-sama (they've been real lifesavers for me in-game).
- Do you prefer the ocean? Or mountains?
The ocean, although I can't swim!
- What kind of KanColle collab would you like to see?
I can't handle curry, so a collab curry that even I can eat would be nice (laugh).

For the real Musashi to have been found, to me it seems like this product is the work of fate. I'm really happy to be involved in a product like this. To the admirals, thank you for always cherishing your shipgirls! Please continue to cheer them on!


Ozawa Ari-san
Prinz Eugen, Akizuki, Nowaki

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
That dummy Prinz Eugen is cute! She's bright and kind, which make her super cute. I think the way she doesn't seem very sharp because of how she talks actually makes her all the cuter.* All Nowaki talks about is her practical "seriousness and decisiveness!", but when she lets her guard down and goes dere toward her partner it's really cute, and she softens up so you really want to get along with her. Akizuki is good-looking, has a pretty face, and has a good personality, giving her the image of a classical beauty, but the way she courageously devotes herself to you really wins you over.
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
"Aim at the target!" I want to do gunnery training. But they're all so cute, so I'd be happy even if all we did was eat and chat!
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
I love all three of them, but I think Akizuki would make a good wife. Her courage is top-class - it makes you want to hold her tight!

Mountains. I like climbing, to the point I like the smell of dirt and trees far too much. The clincher is that I also prefer food from the mountains over food from the sea.

The five shipgirls I perform each have unique personalities, so they're packed full of good points. Acting close like a childhood friend, being one you want to protect, somehow twisting perfectly wholesome things, and stuff (laugh). I feel that the various personalities are the appeal. Also, the art itself is extremely attractive. Can't leave that out! (laugh)
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
I like home console RPGs, so I wanna level up together while making noise and eating snacks. After that, I suppose I'd like to go shopping together. I'd like to buy clothes that suit each of them.
- Please tell us your "shipfu", or any other ships you like, and why them.
My shipfu is Choukai. It was "love on first sight". I've loved her ever since, and she was the very first shipgirl I gave a Kai Ni (laugh). Other girls I like include Akizuki and Makigumo. I fell in love with Akizuki's cute appearance and anti-air power and Makigumo's sleeves and glasses (laugh).
- KanColle brings to mind curry - what kind of curry do you like?
Natto curry, spinach and ground meat curry, gyudon with curry, etc. etc.

Libeccio's cheerfulness. So cute you wish you had a grandchild! Kazagumo briskness and "The Good Girl!"ness. Okinami, and how you want to protect her. Things like that.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
Libeccio as the younger sister, of course! Kazagumo works diligently, but I'd like to try and see if she can count on me, so younger sister for her as well. And since I want to protect Okinami, younger sister. I want them all to be my younger sisters (laugh).
- If you could spend time with the shipgirls you perform, what would you want to do?
Think I wanna play really intense tag and hide-and-seek with Libeccio. And give her a piggy-back ride too (laugh). And radio calisthenics with Kazagumo! She seems the type to make sure you wake up on time and get started promptly (laugh). I'd like to relax and sip tea with Okinami.

I'm no good with heat, so I guess I'd have to pick mountains. But the sea is cool and romantic at night, so I like that!

Butter chicken curry! I like curry with naan so I eat that a lot.

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
I feel Oyashio's tenaciousness is appealing. At first she seems like an honor student who is difficult to approach, but that's because she gives herself little leeway and is shy. Once she shakes those feelings off, her inner self comes forward. For example, she starts to use first person and speaks faster. I find that very precious.

Tag! In tag there's that thrill when you're seen, so that part would be exciting! I'd like to share that sense of your heart racing with Oyashio.

- What's appealing about the shipgirls you perform?
How they really bring each others' personalities out when they're together rather than alone. Polar opposites Agano and Noshiro. The gallant-looking Yahagi that everyone actually teases. The youngest sister Sakawa who gets lots of love from having three older sisters. I think they make each other shine.
- Of the shipgirls you perform, who would you like as an older and as a younger sister?
I'm not very feminine (laugh), so I'd love a super oneechan like Noshiro who could do anything for you. I'd welcome Sakawa as a younger sister so I could go in a daze spoiling her.

I'd spend a day all tuckered out and lazing around on the porch with Agano, making idle chatter. Then we'll somehow manage to survive a meal with Noshiro while she's reproaching us.

The ocean, since I can't deal with bugs, but I can't swim, so the furthest I can go is sandy beaches or the shallows.

Ice cream you'd want to eat on a hot midsummer day on the beach! I want it to be colored based on the color of the shipgirls in the collab! So it'd be black, white, and red for Agano! What flavor would it be...?

As KanColle's first British ship, Warspite's appeal is her high luck! She's a total beauty too (laugh).

Warspite seems the caring type, so she'd be best as an older sister, giving advice and cheering me on when I'm down.

My shipfu is Shoukaku. She seems really gentle, and in-game she's always pulling my fleet forward. Yamato is a shipgirl I like, for her gorgeousness as well as how strong and cool she is!
